Chapter Four

"Huh, looks like Laurent decided to find likeminded people." Harry said, looking at the man, who was currently contemplating running. "He looks nervous." he said.

"He's worried." Edward agreed. "He's afraid that your being here means that you've changed your mind about him."

"Well, let's not leave the man in suspense." Harry said as he stopped the car and climbed out. "Laurent, you old so-and-so, how have you been doing?" he asked, as the others started climbing out of the car.

"I've been well, thank you." Laurent said. "How are you doing, H-Harry?" he asked. He wasn't certain how to address Harry, it seemed.

"Harry's fine, don't worry." Harry said. "We're friends now, right?" he asked.

Laurent would have sighed, if he wasn't trying not to breathe. He did look relieved, though, a small smile appearing on his face.

Esme, in the meanwhile, had approached, while the others were still climbing out. "Tanya! It's good to see you again!"

"Hello Esme." Tanya, their leader, said. "Why did you bring a human?" she whispered urgently, as they hugged.

"Harry is a friend." Esme said at a normal volume. "He's not a normal human and he knew about us before we knew about him."

"You endanger us." Eleazar said. "If the Volturi find out that you are consorting with humans, it would be the death of us all."

"Then it would be best if they don't find out." Harry said, smiling at the man. "Eleazar, I'm assuming?" he asked, offering the man a hand.

Eleazar looked at the hand for a moment, before he reached out and shook. His eyes widened as Harry used a bit of power. "You're not human." he said in realisation.

"Not really." Harry agreed. "Let's talk about it over lunch, okay?"

"You do know-" Carmen, Eleazar's mate, started.

"Not today." Edward said, before greeting them. Carmen was about to comment about their normal diet.

"We've brought something special, for the occasion." Harry agreed, not needing to read minds to know where that was going. He waited for the greetings to finish and for introductions to be over, while he went to the car and unloaded the large pot of stew. Emmett was soon standing next to him, taking a few of the bags from the car, with Jasper and Edward joining him to take the rest.

"Trust me Tanya, you're going to like Harry." Carlisle was saying. "Come, I'm thinking a meal, before we have a chat will be in order."

Tanya was the oldest of the Denali sisters and was their leader because of it, but she held a lot of respect for Carlisle, so she nodded uncertainly and led them into the house.

Once inside, they went to the dining room. It was only there for the sake of appearances, obviously, but they soon found that they had a problem.

"Why would we have plates?" Tanya asked, when Harry asked if they had any.

"Of course. How silly of me." Harry said. "Fortunately I come prepared." He'd placed the large pot on the table, but had yet to open it. He stuck a hand in his jacket and pulled out a plate, which he passed on to Carlisle next to him, who passed it on to his wife, who continued the train as Harry pulled out plate after plate, until everyone had one. Then he pulled out a handful of cutlery. Then he pulled out napkins.

When he reached in again, Eleazar said, "Next is the kitchen sink, I presume?" He was smiling, until Harry actually pulled out a kitchen sink. "What the hell!?" he exclaimed, jumping out of his chair, as Harry chuckled and stuck the large thing back in.

"Play nice, Harry." Esme chided.

"Yes, mum." Harry joked, even as Esme smiled at him. "Carlisle, if you will?" Harry said, stepping to the pot and opening the lid, pulling the large ladle, he'd intended to, out of his pocket.

"Of course." Carlisle said, standing up and taking it, with Esme following with her plate. Carlisle dished up for her, and the rest of the Cullens, followed suit.

"It smells heavenly, Harry." Alice complimented, once she had her plate.

"Tanya, please." Carlisle insisted, as she hesitated in her seat. She finally sighed and stood up, followed by the rest of the Denali.

When everyone had a plate of steaming food, some of the Denali were looking at theirs as they smelled the strangely appetizing human food. Harry took a seat where the pot had been, which Carlisle had put aside, to make space for him.

"Dig in." Harry suggested, as he pulled out his famous lunchbox, which also had stew, but the normal kind. "It's best warm." he added, before sticking a fork in and starting to chow down.

Emmett was the first to start stuffing his face. He reminded Harry, a bit, of someone he once knew. The Denali clan were shocked when everyone started digging in.

"I changed my mind." Emmet said. "This is my favourite."

"Every time you eat something new, it's your favourite." Harry pointed out. "When will you settle on something?"

"Once I've tasted everything." Emmett said, past his mouthful.

"Swallow, before you speak." Esme chided. "It's unappetizing to see your food in your mouth like that."

Emmett swallowed. "Sorry." he said, before he started eating again.

It was Eleazar to have the guts first, to try the food. He put a small amount on the fork and put it in his mouth. He chewed twice, before his eyes widened and then he started eating at a pace that almost matched Emmett. Seeing Eleazar's reaction, helped the others make the decision to try it as well.

"My god!" Laurent exclaimed. "It's edible!"

"It's delicious!" Irina added her voice.

"You're welcome." Harry said, smiling. His smile soon faded. "I forgot!" he exclaimed, as he reached into his pocket and started producing several bottles of wine. "I had some success with this batch I think." he said to Carlisle, as he passed the bottles along.

"Really?" Esme asked. "Did you decide to… Oh, sorry." she said in realization. She couldn't talk about it, but her mind had obviously gone there, if Edward's eyes was any indication.

"One word, Edward, and you're cut off for a week." Harry threatened.

"I wouldn't dream of it." Edward promised. He'd not risk telling someone if Harry's cooking was the price. "Still, it's nice to finally know." he admitted.

"Know what?" Eleazar asked, as he took the bottle that was passed to them, opened, while Harry proceeded to produce glasses. "And how the hell are you doing that!?" he exclaimed.

"The secret to the food, and magic." Harry said.

"Is that what I'm feeling?" Eleazar asked.

"You can feel it?" Harry asked, interestedly.

"Eleazar has the gift to detect and identify other people with gifts." Carlisle said.

"Well, I don't know what you're feeling, but it could be that, or a number of other things." Harry said.

"Harry is very gifted." Alice confirmed.

"According to all the girls in school, yeah." Emmett threw in there.

"I thought we decided to stop talking about Harry's sex life." Harry said, with a look at Emmett.

"But they don't know." Emmet said. "It's only fair to warn the men who'll soon feel inadequate."

"Do you?" Rosalie asked.

"Of course not, but I'm also the best specimen of a man." Emmett said, winking at Rosalie, who smiled back at him indulgently.

Carlisle smiled at the conversation, as he poured, first for his wife, and then himself. The others all followed suit instantly this time, while Harry pulled a chilled beer from his pocket. The beverage was so cold, you could see that the glass was covered in frost.

"How is that not warm?" Tanya asked.

"Magic." Harry replied again.

"To the magic." Carlisle toasted.

"To the magic!" the rest of the Cullens joined.

"To the magic." the rest followed, but with less certainty. Their first sip, however, changed that, as they all looked at their glasses in wonder.

"I should thank you for allowing me this, after our initial meeting." Laurent said. "I do apologise for James and Victoria's behaviour. I was supposed to be their leader, but I could never control their lust for violence and savagery."

"It's not your fault." Harry said. "Some people are just born that way. Even humans."

Laurent nodded in thanks and lifted his glass to Harry, before taking another sip and savouring it before he returned to his meal.

Silence reigned for the duration of the meal after that. Those that finished sipped from their wine and watched jealously, as the rest continued their meal.

"There's more, if you're still hungry." Harry offered. Emmett was instantly next to him, bowl in hand. "Thanks for volunteering." Harry smirked. "You can take the pot to our hosts and your family first, I think."

Emmett rolled his eyes, but did as requested. He understood that this was a show, to a degree, so he went around dishing up for the hungry vampires.

When the pot was completely empty, and all the hunger was properly sated, the questions started.

"What was that?" Eleazar asked, indicating his bowl.

"Food." Harry said. Before the man could ask for elaboration, Harry continued. "It's technically blood from a bear, but I use my special means to turn it into what you ate."

"He has a special process which he's been improving every chance he gets." Carlisle said. "In the beginning, it tasted like blood, with only a hint of what it was being represented as, but now, I seldom taste the blood and it's even more enjoyable."

"We've not hunted in weeks." Jasper said. "Not even I've had a craving for quite a while."

"This could change our world!" Tanya exclaimed.

"There's unfortunately only one of me." Harry said. "I can't feed the entirety of the vampire world. I'm good, but I'm not that good."

"There's also the fact that Harry is a very good chef." Esme said. "What he makes isn't this good only because it was made with blood. It's because it was made with skill. He's teaching me, though. I'm hoping to one-day be able to provide a meal at least as satisfying as this to my family, with Harry doing his part, of course."

"So you meant, real magic." Irina asked. "Like Merlin and dragons and 'You shall not pass!'?"

"Wow, never heard it phrased quite like that." Harry admitted. "But for the purposes of this conversation, let's say yes."

"What can magic do?" Eleazar asked.

"Many things." Harry said.

"But not everything." Rosalie said. "He's working on that, though."

"So, he makes you your meals." Carmen asked. "It's wonderful and all, but it's not going to change your lives that much."

"He can allow us to go in the sun around humans." Alice said, smugly.

"And many other things that could likely one-day see us able to live mostly human lives." Esme said, proudly.

"Really?" Tanya asked. "That is impressive. Why haven't you turned him?" It was a valid point. Nobody would want to lose such a skill to mortality.

"He cannot be turned." Laurent said. "Victoria tried to bite him and she broke her teeth on his skin, just before he ripped James's arm off with seemingly no effort."

"Truthfully, that was magic. I was protecting my friends." Harry said. "But it's a moot point. I'm immortal anyway."

"What kind of immortal has a heartbeat?" Tanya asked.

"This kind." Edward said. "I don't know the specifics, but the evidence he's shown us is very convincing."

"He placed me under a geass, to force me to never touch a human violently again." Laurent said. "I don't hold it against him, now, and I'm starting to think it was the right thing for me."

"You had other options." Harry reminded him.

"Become human or only feed on evil men." Laurent agreed.

"The becoming human thing is proving a little tricky." Harry admitted. "I can do it, but you'd lose all your memories in the process. Human or vampire."

"You never told us that." Rosalie said.

"I only just figured it out recently." Harry said.

"I'll wait for another option, rather." Rosalie said. "I'm finding I'm enjoying my immortal life a lot better now, especially with the option you recently presented us with."

"What option?" Tanya asked. She knew of Rosalie's wish for children.

"He believes he can help me achieve my goal." Rosalie confirmed. "It would even be mine and Emmett's."

"How is this possible?" Tanya asked. "Magic can do this?! Allow a vampire to conceive a child?"

"No." Harry denied. "But I don't just rely on magic."

"Harry has a very special circumstance, which I don't think we can discuss." Carlisle cut in. "Suffice it to say, he's not only capable of magic, but also of technological feats currently unattainable by the science of our time."

"You are an intriguing man, Harry." Eleazar said. "You are a magical immortal, with scientific prowess never before seen? One would swear you're from a different world."

"I'm from Earth." Harry said. It was technically true.

"Why did you come to us, then?" Tanya asked of Carlisle. "You don't seem like you lack for anything. In fact, it seems like you may just be here to boast about your good fortune."

"We're here to share the wealth." Harry said. "When they knew enough about me, the first thing they did was ask if I'd come visit you."

"You're not asking us to hide him from the Volturi?" Eleazar asked. "Or to help you protect him if they ever find out?"

"I don't think the Volturi could touch him, to be honest." Carlisle said. "He'd be very difficult, if not impossible, to influence and he's more powerful than all of us gathered here combined, I think."

"Only in a manner of speaking." Harry corrected. "I don't normally possess your toughness, or skills. I need to sleep like a normal human, too. I have my limitations and you have yours. I don't possess your familial bonds, for example. You are all greater than the sum of your parts due to that fact alone."

"You may not be one of us, Harry, but you're already family." Esme said. "Don't doubt that we care for you. You may be useful to us, but you also bring so much joy when you simply spend time with us."

"Definitely." Emmett said, emphatically. "I've not seen Rosalie so happy or hopeful in a long time. I'd be happy to call you brother, if only for that."

"You may not be my favourite human, but you can be one of them." Edward said. "If you can just stop picking on me like I'm your little brother, that would be perfect."

"What's the problem, Eddie, don't like the fact that your girlfriend has imagined me naked?" Harry smirked.

"See, now I like you a little less." Edward said.

"It's likely true too." Emmett said, with a large smile on his face. "Harry's got all the girls at school so revved up after one girl told her friends what you can do in bed-"

"And the swimming pool, and the bathtub, and the kitchen-" Rosalie added.

"Never the kitchen." Harry interjected.

"-that he's basically got a fan-club and followers." Emmett finished.

"I didn't ask for that and you know it." Harry defended himself. "I just showed a lady a good time and suddenly I'm a party favour and a 'threat do decent people everywhere'."

"Or at least, their daughters." Alice said, smirking.

"Magic penis." Emmett coughed.

"Okay, that's enough." Esme said sternly, even as Rosalie looked at Tanya and mouthed 'It's true', indicating something large with her hands.

Tanya smirked at that. "It seems he could be fun to have around." she said. "If he were ever around. I suspect he's going back with you?"

"Give me just one minute." Harry said, as he stood up and vanished.

"Where did he go?" Eleazar asked, looking around. There were shakes of the head all around.

A minute later Harry re-appeared, with a large tub of ice-cream in his hands. "Who wants dessert?" he asked.

"Where did you go?" Esme asked, suspecting she knew now.

"Popped home to quickly whip you up some ice-cream." Harry said, as he started producing bowls and Esme stood up to scoop it out. Harry placed a bottle of chocolate sauce next to the tub, for her.

"You can just come and go as you please?" Eleazar asked. He was looking forward to trying the dessert, but the idea of instant transportation across countries definitely intrigued him. "All of that distance in an instant?"

"He needs to have been there before." Alice said.

"You knew?" Emmett asked.

"Where do you think we got all that stuff for the pool house?" Alice asked. "We went to New York."

"The city that never sleeps." Harry agreed.

"Awesome." Emmett said.

"So that's why we flew here." Carlisle said in realisation as he passed a bowl on.

"Didn't know where we were going." Harry agreed.

"So, we'll be able to visit more often?" Esme asked.

"As long as I'm available and I have the energy." Harry agreed. "It's not so difficult on my own, but adding people makes it much more so. Unless I have a catalyst."

"The bike." Alice said, remembering he mentioned something like that.

"Or the car, now." Harry said, smiling at her.

"That's awesome!" Emmett exclaimed. "Your pool room is going to see so many more girls in bikinis!"

"Pool room, bikinis?" Tanya asked.

"Harry has a pool, in an enclosed room, with all kinds of nifty amenities." Rosalie said. "He also knows how to make it so we can float, like normal people."

"I really enjoyed that." Emmett agreed. "He made it so we could be in the sun and then we could swim with the other kids, and he made us snacks and drinks, so we could fit in. It was great."

"Probably a bad idea to have so many accident prone children around Jasper, though." Carmen pointed out.

"I couldn't smell a thing." Jasper said. "There was one kid that skinned a knee. I didn't even notice until I saw it."

"To be fair, I think you're doing a lot better these days." Harry said.

"Probably because of all the delicious meals I keep eating." Jasper said. "I haven't been hungry enough to want to react."

"Nobody knows how, but he's got a lot of blood." Edward said. "Fresh from a live animal, as I understand it."

"That's a little tricky to explain." Harry said. "It has to do with overproduction and a certain hormone encouraged by nanites. Basically, the animal is healthier and as a result replenishes their blood more quickly. I just take the excess and nothing has to die. The animals do end up eating more as a result and I may end up not having fresh bear blood, when it hibernates, but I'm keeping an eye on everything, don't worry."

"Nanites?" Eleazar asked.

"Part of the technology I'm not sharing. Sorry." Harry said.

The dessert took up most of their attention after that, until the entire tub was finished again.

"Okay, I'm stuffed." Emmett said.

"Is there such a thing as fat vampires?" Harry asked. Emmett had had quite a few bowls.

"No, he'll just be a bit more vigorous for a while." Rosalie said with a grin. "We may end up breaking your spare room a couple of times when we get back."

"Feel free." Harry said. "It hardly sees any use as it is. Just don't come wake me up for energy drinks or something. I actually need my beauty rest."

"So, when do we see this pool room?" Tanya asked.

"We can go whenever you want, but the Cullens were hoping we could visit for a while." Harry said.

"For the meal you just provided, you are more than welcome." Tanya decided. There were many nods of agreement from their side of the table. "We may struggle to find you a bed, though." she said apologetically.

Harry snapped his fingers and a bed appeared next to him. "No problem. I can make my own."

"You can create anything?" Alice asked incredulously. "Not just change one thing into another, but make them?!"

"Now you've done it." Emmett said.

"It only lasts for a while." Harry said. He'd also seen the greed in those eyes. His fashion sessions would likely get more draining than anticipated. "It's the same skill, technically. It just changes air into items."

"Could you create guns, or bombs?" Carlisle asked, with a curious look.

"Probably, why?" Harry asked.

"Those only need to exist for a short period of time." Carlisle explained. "You could do a lot of damage with that skill."

"Oh, I can do better than guns and bombs." Harry scoffed. "If I were the kind of person I tend to kill, I could destroy whole cities with the stuff I've learned." Technically he could destroy planets, if he tried real hard. Had to do it once, even. "Fortunately for you, that goes against my calling."

There were a few shocked faces again. "Calling?" Tanya asked.

"Harry feels it is his personal mission to protect humans." Carlisle said. "Not all humans, just the ones that are not corrupt or, as he refers to them, 'evil'."

"Don't say it like that." Harry said. "There's real evil in the world. It's not some overused word for me."

"Fair enough." Carlisle said. "Anyway, the point is, he plans on allowing vampires that feed only on evil people, to carry on as they are. We're still discussing what he'll end up doing to the rest."

"Use the geass." Laurent suggested. "It will force them to comply."

"I can't do that for every vampire in the world either. How would I even find them all?" Harry said. "And what happens if a human decides to become a vampire? Then I'd need to find them and apply the same. That simply won't work in the long run."

"You will be noticed by the Volturi." Eleazar pointed out. He'd need to convince him to give up on those plans. He was too valuable to get himself on their radar.

"The Volturi can go suck an egg." Harry said. "They aren't my government."

"They are not a government." Carlisle said.

"They're more like royalty." Edward said. "They make the rules and break them as they see fit."

Harry pondered that for a bit, but Tanya also had a calculating look. "If he could destroy the Volturi, he could take their place." she suggested.

"Tanya, I know you hate and fear the Volturi, but please don't encourage Harry to risk himself like that." Carlisle said. "While he may be immortal, he could still be disabled and captured."

"But he can escape." Tanya said.

"Not if he's knocked unconscious." Jasper said. "If he's not awake and aware, he's vulnerable. They could keep him knocked out and use many methods to keep him from escaping."

"I have automatic defences, too." Harry said.

"What?" Carlisle asked.

"If I'm unconscious for an extended period of time, or in distress for a long time, an automatic recall function brings me back to my house." Harry said.

"Why would you have such a function?" Esme asked, concerned.

"Being drugged or tortured can keep me from focussing enough to use my power." Harry said. "It's been done before, so I set up the failsafe."

"Why do you have experience with that?" Rosalie asked. She seemed angry.

"When you do what I do, you eventually make enemies." Harry said. "It was a long time ago, now. I try to be careful. I don't like being surprised, which is why I'm gathering information, before I decide how to move on the Volturi."

"His current plan is to give them the option to cooperate." Jasper said. "I don't think that's a good idea."

"None of us thinks that they will like being dictated to." Alice agreed.

"Why are we talking about this now?" Harry asked. "It could be years before I decide to move on them. There's no hurry." There seemed to be a collective sigh of relief. "All else fails, I can just kill them all and have a hand in whatever follows. Who's the most powerful coven after the Volturi?" he asked.

"That would be the Olympic Coven." Tanya said with a smirk.

"Are they good, or bad?" Harry asked.

"You tell us." Carlisle said with a smile. "We're the Olympic Coven."

"Well that makes things simpler, doesn't it?" Harry said. "We'll still need to plan, but we can do that on another day."

"You're serious?" Eleazar asked.

Harry decided to make a point. "Let me show you." he said as he got up. "Follow me."

WNWN

He led them from the room and outside, where he conjured five wooden sculptures, in the form of Dracula-style vampires. "These will be our example. Emmett, Edward, Eleazar, if you three would please take one of these each and hide them in the surrounding forest?"

Emmett didn't hesitate to run off with one of them. He knew something fun was about to happen, so he rushed off to get as much distance as he can, and a good hiding spot. When he was certain he was far enough, he found a small cave, where he stuck the sculpture, before he closed the entrance with a few boulders, which he then covered in snow, to hide the entrance.

When he returned, he noticed the other two were back already. "Bet mine's harder to find." Emmett said.

"Thanks, Emmett." Harry smirked. Emmett had a real love of fun, so he was fun to be around.

He turned back to the people. "If I wanted to do something like destroy the Volturi, it would be as simple as this." He pointed a finger skyward, and concentrated. The two remaining sculptures shot into the air and hovered next to each other. A few seconds was all it took for all three the others to join their counterparts. The one Emmett had hidden looked battered and covered in dirt and snow.

"You buried it?" Harry asked.

"Found a nice little cave." Emmett shrugged, slightly disappointed that his effort was wasted.

Harry shook his head, before a tongue of flame jumped from his hand and started engulfing the first figure. Harry placed them all down, then he started banishing the others. Emmett, seeing what Harry was doing, picked one up and tossed it at a tremendous speed, at an angle away from them.

The fire on the first sculpture was quickly eating the entirety of it. "This is a magical fire." Harry said. "It can eat anything and will not stop until it has eaten everything it can." he conjured a large ball of water, which splashed over the burning wooden figure. The fire hissed, but didn't stop burning. "Currently, its target is the sculptures." he added, just before the target completely disappeared and the fire shot off in an arch, to the next sculpture.

Over the next few minutes they watched as the fire ate the rest of the sculptures, until it shot off to where the other statue had landed. It was too far for Harry to see, but the vampires didn't seem to have that limitation and continued watching the fire as it burned the last statue.

"It will never end?" Eleazar asked. "It can find and burn anything you designate?"

"I need to keep my focus on the fire, to ensure it doesn't go rampant." Harry said. "If I lost consciousness now, it could start eating anything it wants. Its name is Fiendfyre and it has a will to burn and destroy."

"It's demonic?" Laurent asked.

"Well, kind of." Harry said. "It's not something I learned easily."

"Then why not just do that?" Edward asked. "Make some of that and send it off to kill all evil vampires."

"You don't know how it works, and I'm not explaining it." Harry said. "Suffice it to say, that's not possible and I need to keep focussed on it the whole time. I still have limitations. My mind would not be able to take the strain of such a long use." The last sculpture finally stopped burning and Harry could feel it looking for something else to eat, so he smothered it with a thought.

"So, you could really destroy the Volturi easily." Eleazar asked. Then he smirked. "Oh, I'm going to like you." he predicted.

"I'm hoping." Harry said. Then he turned on the rest of them. "So, what are we doing for our visit?"

They all just looked at him, with some indulgent smiles and some calculating looks.

"I'd like to see your house." Tanya said. "It's been a while since we've left home."

"Perhaps you could offer them a stay at your place, for a while?" Harry asked Esme.

"Unexpected Guests!" Esme exclaimed, in realisation.

"Yup." Harry said, smugly.

"You knew this would happen!" Alice exclaimed. "But, how? I thought it only applied to yourself. If they are staying at our place…"

"Esme enjoyed a cup of tea with me yesterday." Harry explained.

"Your new trick!" Alice said, bouncing in excitement. "Now I can learn it properly!"

"What are you talking about?" Irina asked.

"Harry can use a form of fortune telling." Jasper said. "Alice is apparently able to use it with her own gifts, but has been unable to do it for us, because we don't drink tea. She's only been able to read human fortunes, because they could stomach it."

"But your trick with food and drink has been able to bridge that gap." Carlisle said, in understanding.

"When we get home, we're all having a cup." Alice said excitedly.

"Let's let your current meals settle first, please." Harry said. "My stock only stretches so far in a day." he reminded them, referring to the blood he used to make their current main form of sustenance.

"Good point." Alice allowed. She'd sacrifice a meal or two, to practice this skill, though.

"So, do you want to pack?" Harry asked the others.

It took them only ten minutes to be ready for a trip. Even Laurent looked excited at visiting the Cullens, now that he had an invitation, especially with what Harry brought to the game.

Tanya surprised the rest by taking the front passenger seat before any of them could and the rest all stowed their bags, with Emmett having thought to bring the large pot in from the house. Once everyone was in the car, Harry started them up and instantly shot off down the road, at full acceleration. Once they had a few thrills on the ground, they lifted off and started accelerating faster, as Harry took them for a fun ride, ducking and weaving past obstacles. The Denali sisters were all staring in awe at what they were experiencing.

When he'd had his fun, Harry slowed them down and focussed, and the car vanished only to appear near their home. Harry landed the car and cancelled concealment, before completing the trip on the ground. He stopped them at the Cullen house first, so that they could take their belongings in. While they were doing that, Harry took the large pot out of the trunk and waited. Edward was the first one back.

"Think fast." Harry said as he tossed him something. Edward caught it and his eyes widened, when he saw it was the key to the Chevy. "Get settled and then come on over." he said, before vanishing back home.

"Lucky!" Emmett said, as he grabbed for the key, but Edward was too fast.

"Why'd he give me the key?" Edward wondered, though.

"He likes you." Carlisle said as he showed up. "He wouldn't pick on you if he didn't enjoy the game, after all."

Edward smiled a bit at that. "Think we can go pick up Bella?" he asked.

"Who's Bella?" Tanya asked. The others were quickly all joining them again.

"Edward's human." Jasper said.

"She will be joining us some day." Alice said. "I've seen it."

"Oh." Tanya said. It wasn't uncommon for vampires to find a partner in a human and then turn them, but one had to be careful about it. If you told someone that you are a vampire, and they didn't want to become one, you'd have no choice but to kill them, or turn them against their will. "You are being careful, right?" she asked.

"She knows." Edward said. "But she can keep a secret."

"Let's rather not bring her along today." Esme decided. "She's still in school at this moment, anyway."

Edward nodded. He could go visit her after school let out.

Harry had just finished washing up, when he heard the Chevy pull up, so he opened the garage and continued drying his things. The vampires soon all walked up the stairs and Alice led them through to the pool room, while Esme went to ask if he needed any help.

"I'm just going to prepare a few snacks and drinks." Harry said.

"We just had that meal you provided." Esme pointed out.

"I'll just add a dash of blood and make the rest from air." Harry shrugged. "It should taste good even if it won't fill you up."

"I'll help then." Esme decided. "What did you have in mind?"

Tanya and the other females from her clan were talking to Alice.

"So when he gets out, just tell him you don't have swimsuits." Alice was saying. "He can make them for you and then we can see which of you can entice him more." she smirked, speaking to the single ones among them.

"Why would we want to entice him?" Kate asked.

"Harry is special." Alice said. "The human girls have noticed too, but that's not going to work in the long run. He needs someone that will stay young with him. Even if you can't become proper mates, you can still enjoy his company."

"I also don't like seeing these strumpets coming and going." Rosalie said possessively, joining the conversation. "Any of you would be ten times better for him."

"And if you entice him enough, he might even find a way to enable you to enjoy his other skills." Alice said with a smirk.

"Other skills?" Tanya asked. Rosalie just indicated something big again. "Ah. Right. Well, we'll see."

Edward, Carlisle, Jasper, Emmett and Eleazar were listening, but Emmett had made one or two innuendos softly, so only the men around him could hear. They may be immortal vampires, but they were still men, so they chuckled lightly at that.

When Harry and Esme joined them with a few platters of mostly conjured food and drink, Alice switched on the music and her and Jasper decided to go change. Emmett had tried to jump in the pool again, fully clothed, but had jumped into an invisible wall.

"Hey!" he complained.

"How many times do I have to tell you?" Harry asked. "No shoes in the pool!"

The new guests were inspecting the snacks, while Harry mounted a few bottles on the overhead mounts for the drinks and soon Edward showed up to play bartender. He'd be enjoying himself more with Bella there, but he could enjoy the entertainment from behind the counter.

Carlisle was telling the guests what the food was, since vampires seldom cared for such things. There was chips and dip, vegetable sticks and even some pieces of sashimi with some eastern sauces. Harry didn't feel like he had the sauces down yet. He was working on it though.

"I find that giving your kind a taste of many different things allows me to get to know your likes and dislikes." Harry joined the conversation. "It helps me to cater to your likes. Emmett likes to say everything I make is the best thing he's tasted, but I've noticed that he prefers savoury dishes, with just a bit of spiciness."

"You go that far?" Tanya asked.

"You'll see." Jasper said. "The chance for variety is soon going to make you appreciate his talents even more."

"It is quite satisfying to try something new on a regular basis." Carlisle agreed. "I didn't know how much I had missed it, until I had the option again."

"Don't you miss the hunt, or the feel of your teeth biting into a piece of meat?" Laurent asked.

"Harry makes the best steak." Emmett said from the pool, where he was floating on his back again.

"So, you don't have any cravings?" Irina asked.

"Sure we do." Emmett said. "Most of the time it's his cooking, though." he chuckled.

"Don't you feel like you've had enough?" Carlisle asked. "Like you've finally been able to enjoy a meal, properly?"

"I am quite sated." Tanya agreed.

"Well, feel free to nibble anyway." Esme said. "While I won't be giving away Harry's secrets, there's very little in the way of sustenance in the snacks before you, but it's still completely edible for us."

Rosalie and Alice had gone to the spare room to change and came back in swimwear Harry had not seen before. While they still covered everything, they were much more appealing, and Harry understood why they hadn't worn them with the humans around.

"Looking good, girls." Esme said. "Did you bring something for your cousins?"

"We were hoping Harry could make us something?" Kate asked. "Alice mentioned that he is able to change what we have on into something more appropriate?"

Harry shrugged and scanned her, before he produced a small model over his hand again. Swimsuits of every design he could think of started appearing on the model, which looked like Kate.

"Hey!" Kate objected, when something very skimpy appeared.

"Sorry." Harry said, actually blushing, as the image changed again. "I'm only a man, and this works on my imagination, so you can't blame me, when my mind wants to see more. You have a fantastic figure."

"While I appreciate the compliment, I'd prefer if you don't do that." Kate said, tartly. "Ooh, I like that one." she said, as a semi-attached two-piece appeared.

"Nice." Alice said. She'd not seen that design herself. Her fashion meeting with Harry just got a whole new category on her mental list.

Harry dutifully transfigured her clothes into the requested bathing suit. He added a sarong for the sake of visual appeal.

"Thanks." Kate said looking down at herself and smiling. "You're handy to have around."

Harry did the same for the other ladies, but they made requests, to avoid the situation that had happened with Kate. Even Esme came to him for something. For the men, Harry just made baggy swimming trunks.

Pretty soon all the vampires were enjoying the heated water of the pool.

"What about the cold?" Kate asked Harry. Her mind had wandered and she'd though about some things that she'd likely not be mentioning, hoping Edward would keep his trap shut.

"Cold?" Harry asked, from where he lay on a pool chair.

Kate moved to him and took his hand. To his human temperature, she felt colder than the water, even if she'd heated up slightly due to it. "Could you do something for that?" she asked, as she let go again.

Harry pondered it. Usually the human body generated heat itself when it burns energy, which is spread throughout the body by the blood. Vampires didn't have that. Deciding to try something simple, he held out his hand to her again, and when she took it, he applied a warming charm to her. She was slightly warmer to the touch in a minute and pretty soon, she just felt slightly colder than his own hand.

"There you go." he said, before he lay back again.

Alice was the first to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "She's warm!" she exclaimed. Then she turned to Harry. "Do me!" she said, holding her hand out to take his.

Harry smirked at her, at her unintentional double-entendre, and took her hand for a moment, doing the same.

"So you can allow us to eat like humans, feel warm to the touch and allow us to be in the sun without revealing ourselves?" Kate asked, shaking her head in wonder.

"I've not even tried tinting magic, to add a tan." Harry said. "With all your bases covered, you should be no more noticeable than a normal supermodel walking down the street." he joked.

"Flattery aside," Tanya said, "this is all quite amazing. Does it take a lot of power and could you teach other people your magic?"

"It's a natural gift, I'm afraid." Harry said. "Some things are easier than others, and they all have different durations, depending on how much power they both take and use."

"So there's no chance to teach or enable others to do what you do?" Tanya clarified.

"Well, there are certain forms of magic that uses other things…" Harry said, as he thought about it. "Huh, that's a good idea, actually. There is one kind of magic that might work." he said as his pool chair moved itself to the side of the pool and Harry quickly got out, dried himself and walked into the house.

"What's he doing?" Irina asked.

"I think you gave him an idea that he'd like to try." Jasper said.

"He's been doing research on how to help us fit in." Rosalie said, fondly.

"So you think he has a magic he can teach us?" Tanya asked.

"We don't know enough to speculate." Carlisle said. "I don't think we have enough information to even try." He turned to Edward. "What do you think?" he asked.

It was useful to ask Edward these things, since he could hear all their thoughts. If someone had an inkling of an idea, he could usually bring it to everyone's attention and more often than not that led them to possibilities. "Nobody has enough information." he confirmed.

"We could go ask him?" Eleazar said.

Rosalie smirked. "Sure. Why don't you go ask him?" she suggested.

Eleazar didn't know why the Cullens were smirking, but he shrugged and went into the house, after drying his feet. He'd been sitting on the edge, enjoying the conversation and a drink. He came back a minute later. "He's gone." he said.

"No, he's still here." Edward said. "His house has many hidden rooms and floors."

Eleazar looked up and saw no other levels. "It's underground?" he asked.

"We don't know." Jasper said. "The staircase we saw goes up."

"Considering what he's said, I don't know that that is a limitation of his technology." Carlisle theorised.

"What did he say?" Tanya asked.

"Rather ask him yourself." Esme suggested. "I think he's trusting us not to tell all his secrets."

It was only five minutes later that Harry returned. "This should work." Harry said, tossing an item to Tanya. Everyone saw it as it went. It was a pendant, with a smooth stone and script of some sort on one side.

Tanya caught it and inspected the script. "What is it?" she asked.

"A necklace." Harry said. "The runes should work on blood, so, when you feed, you could just add a bit of blood and then it will heat up your body, like I did."

"Just like that?" Tanya asked. "Blood and this strange script?"

"It's the language of magic." Harry said. "It doesn't have a translation in the vernacular. What it says, loosely means, 'heat the humanoid body that wears this script using any applied magic to a certain degree'."

"Blood is magic?" Carlisle asked.

"Not directly." Harry said. "Blood is life and life is magic." he elaborated.

"Life is magic?" Rosalie asked, with a smile. It seemed poetic, somehow.

"Didn't you know?" Harry asked. "It's commonly called the miracle of life, after all."

Tanya, in the meanwhile, had put the pendant on. "I'll remember that next time I… I think it's working." she said. She looked at Harry. "Did you already add magic, or blood?"

"No." Harry said, frowning, as he walked to her. "May I?" he asked holding his hand out.

Instead of taking it off, Tanya smiled and moved closer to Harry, the pendant hanging just above her cleavage, drawing his attention to it. Harry closed his eyes, took a breath and then lay one finger on the pendant, after opening them again. He could see when he was being played. His magic informed him of what was going on, though.

"Hah!" Harry barked a laugh out. "It activated because you are well fed. There was an excess."

"It took it from me?" Tanya asked, only slightly disappointed that her ploy had only worked for a second. "Doesn't that mean that we possess magic?"

"Like all living creatures." Harry confirmed. "Not like mine, I'm afraid, but it might allow me to look into some other things for you. Perhaps I can add a trigger and a channelling function, with a few features? I'll look into it." This was an exciting discovery. Harry would need to look into other applications for this. "Be careful, though." he warned. "If it feels like your cravings are coming back too quickly, I may need to modify it, so that it doesn't take too much from you, to maintain your body-heat."

"This will help you, Harry." Alice said. For her, Tanya's immediate future had just changed. It seems that the Denali would be staying in Forks for a while. She couldn't quite see it properly, like there was something interfering with Tanya's future the whole time. That either meant that she was having many thoughts, or that Harry would be spending a lot of time with her. Or both. Most of her possibilities were in Forks, though.

Edward smirked, having followed the thoughts. No doubt the little display, before Harry touched the pendant was not just a show after all. Tanya had been looking at Harry with interest, after every other revelation, her thoughts drifting to things Edward didn't want to think about. Kate was not far behind. He wondered how that would play out. After one particular thought had come to Tanya, she'd instantly sent a death-glare at Edward, who subtly indicated that he'd not be talking about it.

The rest of the visit was spent on idle chat, the two covens catching up on what had been going on in their lives. Harry was mentioned a lot. Edward had talked about Bella for a bit, even mentioning Harry's help on occasion. He also mentioned that Bella was starting to miss her friend. Harry made a mental note to spend some time with her, once his suspension was over. Maybe she and Edward could join them for that steak dinner?

The atmosphere was very enjoyable and the snacks eventually disappeared, as the new vampires in attendance eventually grew used to the idea of snacks and eating. The drink was flowing, though, and the subtle inebriation magic on the drinks eventually had the vampires laughing and having fun like they hadn't in a long time. Harry was right there with them, drinking rum and coke, which was a favourite of his. He tended to drink a beer, more often than not, but when he was having a good time and letting go, his drink of choice tended to be stronger.

Before long he was having fun using his magic, tripping the vampires up, or creating and vanishing things as he told a story from ancient memory.

The drink had another effect, though, and pretty soon the couples started disappearing, without a word, to enjoy a bit of alone time with their significant others.

Pretty soon, it was just Harry, Tanya and Kate. Irina and Laurent had also seemed to realise what was going on and because of the current atmosphere, and likely due to the not-so-subtle hints about them getting a room, they left as well, hand-in-hand.

The ladies weren't flirting too much, but Harry was enjoying their company, asking them about their past and their lives in general and learning quite a bit of vampire lore in the process. Their losses. The immortal children. The Volturi. The powers they'd seen.

Kate even tried her psychic electrical shock trick on him, to no effect. Tanya and Kate didn't mind that they were both flirting because they knew Harry couldn't be with either of them, physically. His fragile human body would not be able to stand their durability and strength.

At some point, they were all laying on pool chairs and Harry decided to treat them to the view the others had made for him, so he triggered the closing of the shutters and gave it a few seconds before he switched off the lights.

"That's beautiful." Irina said.

"That's the Cullens for you." Harry said. "I was making food for them, mostly just for the practice it allowed me, but they decided that I needed to be rewarded, so when I put up the glass coverings, so that I can enjoy my pool in the winter, they added the lights and decorations."

Harry was shocked to find a hand taking his, as Tanya moved her pool chair next to his. Her hands were now just as warm as his, but her grip was a bit strong so he made himself stronger, to squeeze her hand back. Irina saw this and copied Tanya on his other side.

"It feels nice, to be able to touch a human, without them flinching at our strength and temperature." Tanya murmured.

"You feel like one of us, when our temperatures match." Kate agreed.

"It is a shame you cannot be turned." Tanya said. "You'd make an excellent partner."

"If you're half as good in bed, as the others seem to indicate, I'd not mind giving it a try either." Kate said.

"You'd have to get in line behind me." Tanya said, smirking. The magical drunk they were experiencing may have had a hand in their loose lips.

"Chances are, I could overcome that limitation." Harry said. "Unfortunately I promised Charlie I'd stop being such a slut. Or was that someone else? I'm sure someone called me a slut." He wasn't sober either.

He didn't notice the looks of shock on the vampire's faces, though, which were quickly replaced by grins. They made eye-contact, and nodded.

"Oh, Harry." Tanya said.

"Yeah?" Harry asked, smiling over at her.

"What would it take for you to change your mind about that?" Kate asked, as she leaned over and placed a hand on his chest, followed shortly by Tanya.

Harry may be drunk, but he was no fool. "Are you girls trying to seduce me?" he asked.

"Maybe." Tanya said. "Would you really mind if we did?"

"You girls are both beautiful, and I'd consider myself a lucky bloke, but I don't think that's a good idea." Harry said. "The Cullens are my friends and if I took advantage of you, while you were drunk and caused a rift in the family, or something, I'd not be able to forgive myself."

"That won't happen." Kate said.

"Alice and Rosalie wants you to have someone that won't die, as you stay young." Tanya said.

"Someone that could appreciate your gifts for a long time." Kate said.

"There's also another factor." Harry admitted, his smile fading away. "You don't know enough about me. There are factors you don't know, that might affect you if we become too attached."

"Tell us." Tanya asked.

"We'll keep it secret, like the Cullens do." Kate agreed.

"I may be immortal, but my time on this Earth is still limited." Harry said, finally, after looking them both in the eyes and then looking away.

"You are immortal, but you are not?" Tanya asked.

"I'll someday disappear from this world, and reappear in another one." Harry said. "I usually have about fifty to a hundred years in any given world."

"What do you mean?" one of them asked.

"I'm not from this Earth." Harry admitted. "I'm from an Earth, but not this one. I don't know if it's different dimensions or something, but eventually, the gods, or destiny, or magic, or Death himself decides that I've had enough fun and kicks me on to the next one."

There was silence then, and Harry realised that it was probably time for bed for him. "I'm sorry girls, but that's how it is." he said. Then he let their hands go and left the pool room, to get ready for bed.

He was still in the shower, washing his hair, when he heard the door open. "There's a bath in the guest bathroom if you girls want to clean up, before leaving." he said. He knew that they could likely smell the chlorine on their bodies, so it made sense to clean up. The others had used his shower in the past.

He was shocked to feel the shower door open. "But we thought a shower would be nice, instead." Kate said, as she stepped in, followed by another set of footsteps. Harry quickly rinsed the soap from his hair, but kept his eyes closed and his back to them.

"Turn around, Harry." Tanya said. Harry was only a man. He turned around. "Open your eyes." she instructed.

When Harry opened his eyes, he saw himself confronted by the two vampires. They still wore their bikinis.

"Nice." Kate said appreciatively, looking down at what he had to offer. "I'm feeling a little overdressed." she said, then, as her hand went behind her and her bikini top came undone, falling past her arms and to the ground. "Tanya?" Kate asked.

"I want him to do it." Tanya said, stepping closer to Harry. "If you want to?" she asked. If his 'situation' was anything to go by, he wasn't unappreciative of what was happening.

"Are you girls sure about this?" Harry asked.

"We'll talk more, later." Tanya said, taking his hands and putting them around her. As his hands went to undo the string to her bikini top, she leaned in and kissed him.

Unfortunately she was still hard as rock to his touch, so he pulled back, after undoing her top and ran a finger over her lips. Then he kissed her again. Her mouth was soft, and warm and welcoming, even as her eyes flew open in shock, and then appreciation. She leaned into him and deepened the kiss, really enjoying something that she'd not had in quite a while.

Harry's hands enfolded her and they stood like that for a minute, as Tanya enjoyed the experience, even as she felt his heat between their bodies. She was careful not to bruise him, though. When the kiss broke, Harry looked over at Kate, who was just smiling in anticipation. Harry held a hand out to her, as Tanya stepped away, however begrudgingly. She really should have put her foot down and claimed him. She was the leader.

Harry ran his fingers over Kate's lips as well, and then kissed her. She felt the same shock as Tanya had, but then she moaned in appreciation as she pressed her chest to his. There was another problem, with that, of course, and Harry had to retreat, before he used both his hands and ran them over her chest.

Harry lay back in his bed, panting. "That… was amazing." he said, as he breathed heavily.

"You're telling me." Kate said, still on him. "If I were mortal, I'd have been unable to walk!" she pronounced.

"You are a very gifted lover, Harry." Tanya said. "Honestly, though, I do wish I could have you to myself for a night."

"You can have me as long as you want." Harry said. "You're both amazing!" He was still exhausted, though. He'd spent a lot of power over the last two days and he doubted he'd be up for a round two, right now. "I'm sorry I can't give you another go. I'm kind of tired from everything over the last two days."

"This was you tired?!" Kate exclaimed.

"Exhausted." Harry agreed. "And I just lay here, by the end."

"Mine." both Kate and Tanya said at the same time.

"I'm senior." Tanya said then. "He's mine tomorrow."

"I just need a few hours to rest ladies." Harry said. "I'm sure I can do more in the morning. I'm usually good to go a few times a day. Magical constitution helps out a lot. For everything else, there's magic itself."

The ladies both smiled at him. "We'll be testing that endurance you're boasting." Tanya promised.

Kate finally lifted off of Harry. When she was done, she almost fell over. "My legs are shaking!" she said incredulously.

"They are a little more fragile in their current state." Harry pointed out, his eyes closing, even as he pulled Tanya to him.

"How long will it last?" Kate asked, smiling at the idea that this man could screw even a vampire into not being able to walk properly.

"A few hours." Harry sighed out, as his heart-rate decreased. "Can't make it… permanent." he sighed again.

And then he was asleep.

The next morning found Harry waking in the arms of two beautiful naked blonde women. He'd awoken, because they were turning hard to the touch, again. "Good morning." Tanya purred out, kissing him gently. They could both feel that they were regaining their natural state.

"Morning." Harry smiled, realising that she was being careful. He placed his palms flat on the women's backs and channelled his magic, through their whole bodies.

"Morning." Kate said, then, also kissing him. That's when she realised that she was able to enjoy it again, so she did.

"When did you-" Tanya started, but Harry had broken apart from Kate and kissed her, and she melted into his embrace, as he pulled both of them close, enjoying the feeling of their naked bodies on his.

Tanya moaned at the contact, her hips thrusting into his, as her arousal was instantly back.

It was two hours later that the three of them walked out of the bedroom, fully clothed. The vampires both had looks of shock and amazement on their faces, as they unsteadily walked into the living room, only to find Rosalie and Emmett sitting there, looking at them strangely.

"What happened to you?" Rosalie asked, concerned.

"Magic penis?" Emmett offered.

Both women just nodded in mute wonder, with big eyes. He really must have been tired the previous evening, or he cheated a lot with his magic, but, by the end, they were almost happy when he switched between them. "So many times." Tanya finally whispered as she took an unsteady step.

"How is he not being praised as a god in that school?!" Kate added.

"How does a mortal even survive that much." Tanya asked. "It was almost too much for us both!"

"Ladies, can we keep the bedroom talk in the bedroom?" Harry asked, nicely. He'd not been able to go all-out with his magic and passion working together, until now. He was a little sore, but he'd also enjoyed it, immensely.

They both nodded. Probably best not to talk too much about it. Irina might change her mind about Laurent and want a piece for herself.

"He's really that good?" Emmett asked, indicating their unsteady movements.

"Better." Tanya admitted. "He's not even tired."

"How's that even possible?" Rosalie asked, incredulously.

"Magic." Harry called back. "And seriously, girls, I'm glad you enjoyed it, but if you keep on telling, I'm not making you breakfast."

The ladies instantly shut their traps. Tanya just looked at Rosalie and indicated something big with her hands and nodded vigorously.

Harry made breakfast for everyone there. It wasn't all that filling for them, but he didn't want to eat on his own.

"Aren't you guys going to school?" Harry asked Rosalie and Emmett.

"We're supposed to be out of town, remember?" Emmett asked.

"It's a sunny day, as well, so either way…" Rosalie trailed off.

"Sure." Harry said.

"So, what's on your agenda today?" Rosalie asked.

"I'm going to spend some time working on the runes, to see what else blood-related rune magic could do." Harry said. "I was also thinking of looking into ritual magic, to see if there's an option there for making immortals, mortal again. I'll need to modify anything I find, of course, since I've not met your kind of immortal before."

"Ritual magic?" Tanya asked. "Like, pentagrams and animal sacrifices?"

"Sometimes." Harry allowed. "The mandala is usually different, depending on which elements are being used."

"Elements, like earth and water?" Kate offered.

"All the natural elements have their own representation." Harry agreed. "There's also fire, wind, time and life and a few more obscure elements, like bonds, protection and spirit. I don't know it all, which is why I want to look into it."

"Could we help?" Tanya asked.

"The library is a little sensitive to new people visiting." Harry said apologetically. "I don't know which book started it, but the library started shunning newcomers after one of my guests tried to steal one of them."

"Your books are alive?" Rosalie asked.

"It's not something I understand myself." Harry said. "It's a magical library, with books on everything from folklore, from most of the worlds I've visited, to raising the dead. Something in there likely had some protections that spread throughout the library."

"You're not in danger there, right?" Tanya asked quickly.

"It's my library." Harry said with a chuckle. "And it knows it."

"You're the boss." Emmett joked. "Show those books, Harry."

"You're a comedian." Harry said, blandly. "Anyway, I still have to go feed the prisoners and finish my outstanding experiments with them."

"James and Victoria." Rosalie explained, before Kate could ask. "They angered the wrong man, and now they are his involuntary volunteers, until he doesn't need them anymore and he lets them go, turns them human or kills them."

"You don't have to worry ladies." Harry said. "I'll only kill someone if they are evil."

"We know." Kate said. "Carlisle explained it."

"We'll not object, as long as you can keep it from the wrong people." Tanya agreed.

"So, what is this?" Rosalie asked, indicating between the three of them.

Harry looked at the other two ladies. "What do you think of calling it, dating?" he asked.

"He's our man." Tanya decided. "I can't stand the idea of some school girls trying their luck with him. Not after last night and this morning."

"Agreed." Kate said, developing a scowl. "Consider him claimed."

"And I don't get a say?" Harry asked. He was a bit worried. His group of sexual partners tended to grow.

"No." both Kate and Tanya said.

"You said we could have you for as long as we want." Kate said. "That's what we want."

"Welcome to the Denali Coven." Tanya finished.

"He's a Cullen." Emmett countered.

"Not anymore." Kate said, smugly.

"Can't we share?" Rosalie asked, smirking.

"As the oldest and therefore the leader, I say no." Tanya said.

"Are you?" Emmett asked. "The oldest?"

"How old are you, Harry?" Rosalie asked. They'd never gotten that information.

Harry thought about it. "I don't know. Somewhere between seven and eight, I think."

"Hundred?" Emmett asked. It was a decent age for an Immortal. Not many lived that long, since people made more enemies over longer lifespans.

"Thousand." Harry said. "I lost track somewhere along the line." There were only shocked looks at that. "What? I told you I'm older than I look."

"But that's like saying a tidal wave might be wet!" Emmett exclaimed, incredulously. "You look good for a fossil." he said, his humour returning to him.

"So, who's the leader of the Denali, because of age?" Rosalie asked with some exasperated humour after the shock wore off.

"I'm still the leader." Tanya said.

"Makes sense." Harry said. "I'm still relatively new to this world. She's got the experience and knowledge I'd need to be able to lead anyone properly."

"No wonder you're so good in bed." Kate finally said. Then she smiled. "To think, we can claim all that experience is in our bedroom."

"My bedroom." Harry said. "I actually have a bed, for one."

"And he actually has a house, here, for two." Rosalie agreed.

"We can solve that easily enough." Tanya decided. "Eleazar likely already has a plan to get us something so that we can settle here."

"No chance will he want to be anywhere else, after the revelations of last night." Kate agreed.

"Why's he in charge of housing?" Harry asked, interestedly.

"He's got contacts." Tanya said. "He used to be one of the Volturi guard. His ability was very useful to them." she reminded him. They had discussed it the previous evening, but they were also rather tipsy.

"I can imagine." Harry said. "Still, it's nice to know we have someone who knows them so well."

"He'll be very happy to tell you anything he can." Kate said.

"He didn't leave them on good terms." Tanya explained.

"Who does?" Rosalie asked.

"Good point." Tanya said.

Harry soon excused himself, to go do the dishes, and he was not shocked when his apparent ladies, decided to join him. In his many years, he'd had a couple of arranged marriages and he'd learned to go with the flow. If things didn't work out, there was usually a way to end things amicably. At least they knew about his limited time here, so he was happy he had enough forethought to have that discussion.

When the washing was done, Harry left the kitchen. The ladies still followed him. "I'm going to the library." he said.

"And we're going with you." Tanya said.

"If it's really your library, it will know to leave your mates in peace." Kate added.

"We can try." Harry said dubiously. He didn't really know what that term meant, even if he knew it was supposed to be a long term commitment. They'd discuss it later. He walked to the designated spot for the transport, which looked and functioned like a staircase. This one was going down, today. Harry was used to it switching, so he didn't question it. He walked down, with his ladies following.

He came to a large set of double-doors, which opened to him as he approached. The ladies followed still. When Harry was through, though, the doors tried to close on the ladies.

Tanya and Kate instantly moved to the doors and barred them open.

"Know your place!" Kate exclaimed.

"We are your master's mates!" Tanya added. "Bar us from entry and we'll burn you to the ground." she finished in a dangerous whisper, her possessive tone followed by a hiss of controlled fury.

The doors instantly swung in, the ladies' natural abilities allowing them to recover and not fall over.

"That's better." Kate said, as she followed Harry in.
