Why I Became A Villian

They say every villain is the hero of their story… They are wrong! There is no such thing as heroes and villains, there is just evil. Evil, cruelty, that’s all I know, that's the only thing the world has shown me… Maybe I am wrong… Just maybe there is more to this world, other than the evil and cruelty I was forced to endure, but that doesn’t really matter anymore. A man is a mirror of the world he has been exposed to… Since I have seen the greatest evil the world has to offer, it is only natural I show the world evil in return. Hello there, I am Lucius Blackwell, let me tell you why I became the greatest villain of all time…

Terrifying Silver

[Congratulations on officially becoming a Villain!] Lyxor laughed.

'I am not a villain. I'm a freedom fighter. Those are two different things.' Lucius frowned as he turned off the television.

[Heh! A freedom fighter who kills defenseless old men!] Lyxor mocked.

'You know it was necessary to hide my tracks. You have no right to troll me on this topic.' Lucius clenched his fists.

Ding!

Ding!

Ding!

Lucius's frown changed to shock as he heard his phone ringing. He picked up his phone and frowned when he realized it was a group video call from Silver, other members of the God set, and Ralph.

[This can't be good…] Lyxor said sternly, the former amusement gone.

Lucius shrugged before joining the group video call…

"What do you mean there is something off about the killer?" Dean's annoyed voice was the first thing he heard.

"Ooh! Lucius is here now… Good." Silver said.

"Give him a summary of everything you told us already." Alex said with an irritated look. He didn't seem happy to be a part of the call.

"When Ethan Carter died, he was missing a heart. Luckily, reinforcements arrived before Lucius fell victim to him." Silver started his explanation with a deep frown.

"Yesterday, our sidekicks died, and they all lost their hearts. We saw the footage of Black Death openly eating their hearts." Silver continued.

"Are you trying to say it is the same person who killed Ethan that killed Mira and the others?" Ralph gasped.

"Yes!" Silver responded confidently.

Buzz!

Lucius felt his heart skip a beat, but he showed a look of surprise in response to Silver's words.

"I just watched the news and I must say, that person doesn't look human. Are you trying to say a deviant sneaked into the city?" Lucius asked thoughtfully.

His question was met with a satisfying silence as everyone exchanged glances. Truly, the darkened skin, crystallized hair, demonic rows of teeth, and blazing purple skin all pointed toward the fact that the man was a Deviant.

While the cases of Deviants sneaking into the city are not new, none has ever made it into the commercial district, but somehow this one managed to accomplish this stunning feat. If he was truly a deviant like everyone suspected, he should have been caught by now because he would easily stand out and the security of the area is tight.

"What if he is not always a Deviant?" Silver's words made Lucius's eyes twitch.

"Tell me what you think…." Lucius leaned in with rapt attention.

"I suspect Black Death killed the Mask shop owner." Silver's words made everyone's eyes widen in shock.

[This boy needs to die!] Lyxor roared. The desperation in his voice was something Lucius had never experienced before.

"What makes you think Black Death is the old shop owner's killer?" Maya asked.

Rather than answering her question, Silver turned his attention to Lucius's part of the screen.

"When you met the person that killed Ethan Carter, did he have a mask on?" Silver asked.

Lucius paused and pondered deeply for a few seconds before responding.

"No…" Lucius said with certainty. "While it was fast, I am certain it wasn't wearing a have a mask."

Buzz!

Everyone frowned at Lucius's words, but even that wasn't enough proof.

[What are you doing?] Lyxor asked.

'I was involved in all of these events. Showing any resistance will only push the suspicion on me.' Lucius responded.

"So Ethan's killer wasn't wearing a mask. That's not enough proof to conclude it is Black Death." Ralph said. "Weren't we told it was the Beast Whisperer that was responsible for Ethan's death?"

[Good… Good one Ralph, keeping you alive may not have been a bad idea after all] Lyxor rejoiced.

At that moment, Silver began sharing some images with everyone on the call.

"I requested images of the site where Ethan and the mysterious deviant fought. During the fight, the deviant made use of the walls a lot, leaving behind prints. Consider the size of the prints and the Beast Whisperer we met on the battlefield. Does that look like the hands of a grown man?" Silver asked with a raised eyebrow.

He waited patiently as everyone looked through the images and soon, they all started shaking their heads one after the other.

"The handprints are definitely smaller than that of the Beast Whisperer." Lucius admitted.

'Thankfully, my transformation partially increases my body size. They can't trace it back to me.' Lucius let out a sigh of relief.

"After studying these pictures for a while, I concluded the owner must be around 15 to 18 years old." Silver said thoughtfully.

"So you believe this person is the same person who killed Ethan and the elderly man is one person…" Maya said thoughtfully.

"But why kill the store owner?" Ralph asked.

"To cover his tracks." Silver responded decisively. "Not only was the store owner killed, his cameras were destroyed. Security system destroyed and past recordings deleted."

"If he didn't do that, the police would have been able to get information on those who recently purchased masks. Finding who Black Death is after that won't be much of a problem." Alex pondered out loud. "Stealing from the old man was just a distraction."

"Bingo!" Silver screamed while Lucius's visage darkened.

"But why kill the old man? Why did he have to go that far when he could have just destroyed the CCTV footage when the man was gone for the day." Ralph was pained by what he heard. He believed the old man didn't deserve to die.

"The old man would have recognized the mask as soon as the death of Mira and the rest made it to the news. He will call the police and give detailed information about the looks and possible age of the buyer." Lucius said coldly. "The killer was simply covering his tracks."

An eerie silence followed as these youths realized they were not dealing with just anyone. This was a ruthless villain and had the brains of an evil genius.

"I will find this villain and I will kill him." Silver's eyes flashed with cruelty.
