Chapter 8: Surprise Attack

With everyone well fed and ready to hit the road we gathered our things and left the camp.

It wasn't easy traveling with a group since everyone had different points to which they could take before resting. I didn't mind adjusting for everyone but it's more or less strange to me.

Also learning about most of my party members a bit was nice since I didn't know anything about them.

This world has been an interesting experience so far, I've almost died, I've gotten new companions, and I got my old stuff back. There's a lot I still gotta understand like how attacks actually cause bleeding from people and how there's no health to anyone.

"A rather large group if I do say so." Says a voice from the shadows.

Sight!

Scanning around me it seems this person was well hidden and must have known about my ability sight. They aren't detected anywhere around us so they might be my first real problem.

"Who are you?" I Asked as I pulled out my sword.

"A hero is what most people refer to me as, and it seems I've found my target." answered the person as branches could be heard moving.

Within moments I could see a shadow like figure come out from the bushes and quickly strike. A small like dagger in hand scratches across my shoulder plate and to my surprise it actually almost went through.

"Mika you okay!?!" Shouted Ella as she quickly dashed towards the enemy.

Quickly moving in front of Ella, Mika slashed down towards the enemy.

"As I thought." Said the mysterious hero as they blocked the attack with the dagger.

I was now in a standstill with this hero, my blade going against their dagger.

"Who are you?" I Asked once more while trying to force his sword down further.

No response was given and the person then held the dagger with one hand while pulling out another. Before I could react the hero had stabbed right into my stomach right through my armor.

Gah. The first time in awhile that I had seen my blood since coming here.

"Everything will be okay Mika." Said A distant voice.

The blade had gone all the way in and I could feel this person slowly twisting it.

"I'm the hero who's going to kill you Mika." Says the Mysterious person.

Secret Skill Demon Born activate.

I could feel even more strength surge throughout my body and that's when I pushed my sword right through the dagger shattering it.

Slash!!

Slashing across the figures chest with my sword and forcing them to withdraw away from me a bit.

"How the hell did you do that!" Shouted the mysterious person.

"That's something you won't ever need to know." I responded.

Blood was now falling onto the floor from both of us, more from them then me. But this wound wasn't that bad, not yet at least so I'm not done.

Mika quickly charged in to attack once more but then the figure disappeared before him and all that could be heard was Azura giving a faint scream.

"Azura!" Shouted Ella while looking towards her.

Mika quickly turned his attention towards her and saw that Ishada had stabbed her with a knife.

"What the hell Ishada!" I shouted while running towards him.

The figure seemed to have fallen back while Mika went to confront his so called companion.

Azura slowly began to fall to the ground.

Pause.

"45 seconds before resuming." Said a voice.

Mika quickly got to Azura and caught her before she fell. He pulled out a healing potion and poured it into her mouth then nicely sat her down onto the ground.

"10 seconds remaining." Said the voice.

Mika then punched Ishada right in the gut while his demon born skill was still active.

"Resuming." Said the voice before fading.

"Cah. How the hell?!?!" Questioned Ishada as he coughed up blood.

"What the hell is wrong with you!" I Screamed as I grabbed Ishada by his shirt.

"Needed to protect the hero hehe." Said Ishada as he grinned.

Mika quickly threw him to the ground and got on top and began to punch over and over again. Blood getting all over Mika with no one able to stop him from sparing Ishada.

Ella watched as her companion beat her other companion to pieces. But she went over and checked on Azura, then realized her wound started healing. Mika's healing potion was enough luckily to keep any real harm from occuring to her.

Still Mika's rage wasn't quenched, in fact this just made him feel even worse about trusting people now.

Finally coming to a stop Mika stood up, drenched in blood. As brutal of a death as it was for Ishada, Mika didn't take a lot of things lightly.

Now with new trusted companions he took everything serious and didn't want anything to happen to them. This was what Ishada didn't realize.

"Mika a-are you okay?" Asked Ella as she sat by Azura.

"I'm fine, just don't appreciate being crossed." I Answered as I turned towards them.

Before long the figure returned with Sorakami the guy from Shizu Village.

"So it seems you're a lot stronger than we expected.

"Ella get Azura away from here and I'll meet up." Said Mika as he picked up his sword.

Ella just nodded and got Azura up, before Mika knew it they had run away.

It was now a 1v2 and Mika wasn't scared of these heroes but didn't know how to deal with both of them yet.

"God of Peace Minlot Please share your strength with me as I face this demon." Chanted Sorakami as a beam of light came from the sky.

So bright I could hardly see, what the hell is going on with this guy.

As the light disappeared so did Sorakami for a brief second before stabbing some sort of blade made from light.

"Gahhhh!" Mika coughed blood up as the blade pierced through him completely.

Quickly looking down at the blade Mika grabbed it with his free hand and held it as he went to swing his sword down with the other.

"Not so fast." Said Sorakami as he caught the blade.

How is this happening right now..

My blood was spilling rapidly and everything was getting darker around me once more. What am I supposed to do if heroes are this strong..

Why can't I just be the hero already god damn it!

Sorakami then took the blade out of Mika's hands and threw it to the ground.

"Let me show you a third level spell huh." Said Sorakami before chanting.

Is this really going to be how I die? To a hero in a land full of corrupt bastards like this?

It can't be the case...

"Light of Purity, oh Heavily spirits help me rid this world of evil." Chanted Sorakami before a light goes out his hand a through Mika's shoulder.

"Ahhhhh!" Screamed Mika in pain as he fell to the floor.

Sorakami still holding the blade made out of light took it and stabbed right into Mika's back one more time.

"Gah..." Mika coughed up blood and laid on the floor as his own blood slowly surrounded him.

"Let's go, he's not gonna survive this." Said Sorakami as he signaled The other figure.

Everything is getting so dark and all I did was stop one evil Lord..

The king still lives and yet I'm here about to die for real, guess this is really the end of my journey after all. I did all I could and I underestimated the heroes.

At least I got to see how strong I truly am before falling to someone.

"Do you really wanna sit here and die." Said a sinister voice.

What is that?

"Do you really wanna let your rage and hatred die?" Says the voice as it keeps going.

"No." I replied as I slowly looked up.

"Then do you want my power Mika, I'm willing to share it on one condition." Said the sinister voice.

"What's the condition and what are you?" I Responded.
