Questions

Kurao like most days now finished up his daily run. After cleaning up he left his room, but just as he left he could see the room across from his, mother's room door open and Slaine leaving. He looked a bit sullen, but he quickly spotted Kurao and gave him a passing messages as he walked down to his room.

"There is not lesson today I have to deal with a few things kid'"

He quickly departed leaving Kurao wondering why he was in a hurry and another big question.

'Why was he in mother's room?'

Deciding to investigate he went to knock on his mother's door.

*Knock*

*Knock*

*Knock*

"DIDNT I SAY LEAVE!"

Ella yelled at the door, presumably not know Kurao was on the other side. This left Kurao confused, as well as more curious.

"Mother its me, I just came in to check if you were doing all right."

After a moment the door opened to reveal Ella, who seemed to reveal a gracious smile upon seeing Kurao.

"How is my little boy? Sorry about that, it wasn't directed towards you."

"I know mother. What I came by to ask you why Mr. Ester left your room."

The silence was making him a bit uncomfortable, but just as he was going to say something, she gave a angry response.

"It seems he goes by 'Mr. Ester', huh? So that's who teaching you?"

"What do you mean he goes by 'Mr. Ester' mother?"

Releasing a sigh she looks the other way as she says in a depressed voice,

"Well Mr. Ester as you call him, is my Father and your-"

"You mean he's my grandfather?!" Kurao surprised by the revelation that he cut off Ella.

"Yeah he is, but I wouldn't take whatever he says as the truth even if he is related by blood, you have seen how the people of this place treat me. But besides the point, as his daughter I know and can attest that he isn't the most reliable when it comes to advice.."

"What do you mean by that mother? From what I can tell he hasn't seemed so bad."

"Just listen to my little baby, he isn't as smart as he seems."

Seeing that she was so adamant about her bias on Slaine, he decided to drop the topic and talk to his mother. During the past few weeks he has been so busy with learning all he could and couldn't agree with what his mother said without a grain of salt.

After dropping the topic he decided to catch up with his mother. Knowing he didn't have a lesson today, he went to check in on his Aunt Vayla.

A few weeks ago when his accident occurred he was devastated about the temporary hiatus he had to take from cultivating.

He thought his Father would be greatly disappointed or give him some sort of punishment for the fact, but nothing ever came from that, not even a response. Vayla on the other hand was worried deeply as she kept checking in on him and it went to the extent of delivering his food a few times just to check in on him.

'What did mother mean by saying he isn't smart or reliable, from what I have experienced and learned he seems to be the opposite.'

'But mother says Mr. Ester isn't what he seems but it also seems she has a bit of resentment towards him, so maybe Vayla could give me some more answers.'

Arriving at the door of the Empress's chambers he went closer to knock just to have the door open.

Coming out of the room was a man with short messy reddish-purple hair,

'Soleil?'

Kurao was surprised to see Soleil. Cause even though he was directly related to Aunt Vayla, he never really saw him especially since he was around Vayla a lot of the time so seeing this was like seeing something pretty rare.

Kurao not moving kept staring at Soleil while lost in thought, but was broken out of his thoughts by Soleil who spoke in a tone without a trace of emotion like usual.

"What brings you here little brother?"

Kurao who wasn't on the best of terms with him after thinking of the relatively recent events relating to Soleil, responded in a slightly poisonous tone to his relatively simple greeting.

"Why would you need to know?"

Soleil just paused and stared at Kurao hearing the instant reply that had a touch of anger.

A stare off commenced as moments passed in complete silence as they looked each other in the eyes.

Soleil broke the stare off with a small sigh as he gave a glance to Kurao before he started walking away,

'It seems he knows, but I won't clear this misunderstanding cause it will probably sound like a excuses to him.'

'Even though he is young he seems to be sharp, I don't agree with what Councilman Jamius attempted...'

Kurao seeing Soleil exit his view he thought about Soleil and why he was here, but leaving that thought for another time he decided to find out more about Slaine Ester today.

Knocking on the door he waits a moment before it opens to reveal Vayla in a dress as her face that went from a serious look to a bright one seeing Kurao.

She held his hand in-between hers as she asked,

"Oh my little Kurao how are you doing!"

"I am okay Aunt Vayla you don't have to worry so much."

"Kurao I am always going to worry that's half my job being the top of the harem. Did Slaine say anything else on your condition, if you are getting better, or if you are getting worse?"

"I am fine, Seriously. I came to by to actually ask some questions if that's okay?"

Vayla let go of his hand and gave him a smile as she ushered him into her room.

"That is great to hear. I will answer your questions the best I can, come in."
