Chapter 12: End of the case and goodbye, best detective in the world

Nico continued to chase the killer now they are on top of a mountain along with a big storm the killer thought he had gotten rid of him, but Nico appeared leaving him with no escape.

"It's over Carlos there is nowhere to go anymore" Nico says after pulling out a gun.

"So you always knew it was me Nico" Says the assassin revealing his rain soaked face.

"Carlos Wellston according to say you had died at the hands of an assassin when in reality you only pretended that tell me how crazy then get to be" Says Nico while pointing at Carlos who was smiling.

"Hehe the truth is I don't know, but for what it's worth the death of your parents was something I didn't want to do, but your stupid father didn't listen to me when I warned him" Says Carlos as he starts to laugh.

"Damn bastard, but since I will only say it once Carlos" Says Nico with a serious look making Carlos stare at him.

"Carlos Wellston aka the A, B and C killer you are under arrest for the big killing you have done for all these years" Says Nico as he points Carlos straight in the head.

"And yes I refuse what will you do Nico" Says Carlos with a defiant smile.

Nico couldn't respond as he had to dodge a knife that Carlos threw at him causing him to lose his weapon and they started a fist fight.

Nico dodged every blow from Carlos who was surprised by Nico's quick reaction, but then he got distracted letting Nico hit him in the stomach and then in the face.

Carlos slipped into the trees around Nico followed him, but without first reaching for the gun he dropped.

"Do you really think that by stopping me people will stop killing each other Nico" Says Carlos as he appears from behind Nico's back throwing a knife at him.

Nico dodges the knife and then fires, but Carlos dodges the shot and goes back to hiding in the trees.

"I don't care about that and before you say it I am aware that this world is dying because of people and people killing each other" Nico says as he turns and shoots towards where Carlos passed who was shot in the shoulder.

"Fuck in the end he ended up hitting me the shot he has incredible aim" Said Carlos in his mind as he grabbed his shoulder wounded by the bullet.

"Yeah you know that because then you became a detective and because you helped the police with different killer cases were you doing it out of pity or because" Carlos says as he continues to move through the trees watching Nico just stand still.

"I did it to keep the promise I made to my aunt and uncle and my sister the promise to catch the bastard who killed my parents so give up at once Carlos" Says Nico as he looks in the direction of Carlos who is scared by how he knows where he was.

Nico aims and fires Carlos dodges the bullets, but that forces him to go straight towards Nico who was waiting for him he punched Carlos followed by a kick that left him with no options to escape more because of the pain in his shoulder from the gunshot.

"It's over Carlos you're under arrest" Nico said after putting his gun away and taking out some handcuffs which he used to arrest Carlos who accepted his defeat.

Nico led him to where everyone was, then the police arrived along with Shina and Catherine plus an ambulance that was able to save Calahan everyone was shocked except for the lieutenant who was smiling.

Shina went to Nico and gave him a hug, but he surprised her by giving her a kiss afterwards taking her for granted that he is in love with her.

"I must say one thing Nicolas Schneider without a doubt you are the best detective in the world, but we both know this is not over goodbye" Carlos said after he was put into the police car.

Nico walks up to Carlos before they put him in and shakes his hand ending the case of the letter killer the case his father could never finish.

FOUR MONTHS LATER 

Four months passed since the letter killer was locked up and it was just as Nico told Roman shortly after he resigned as a detective.

Maybe for some people he should continue, but he himself knows that he already did what he had in mind, now he only has to wait for his sister to finish high school to do something out of the country.

But what really was a triumph was that Nicolas Schneider and Shina Geiser are together as well as Nahir and Roman.

Now that everyone is quiet, everyone does what they like to do except for Nico who has nothing to do but help Shina with her work from time to time, but in the end his job as a detective is over.

The best detective in the world Nicolas Schneider said goodbye now people will be waiting for that detective to come back someday to solve one more case.

"Sorry to interrupt Romeo and Juliet, but I have some news for you" Says Roman who had entered Shina's office with a letter.

"Hi Roman what's up it's for me" Asks Shina as she finishes putting some things away.

"It's for you Nico someone wants you back and I think now I understand the message Carlos said before he was arrested" Roman says as he hands the letter to Nico who as soon as he opens it is surprised to see what it said.

"Carlos you are a fucking son of a bitch" Said Nico who then showed what that letter said to Shina and Roman.

Apparently Nico and his friends will have no rest because now there is another murderer sowing chaos in France, the best detective in the world will have to return sooner than expected to catch this murderer.

But that's another story with this concludes as an eighteen year old teenager caught a serial killer who made the whole United States tremble, but now our protagonist and his friends will have to embark on another case outside their country and their city.
