Chapter 20

"Kageyama," I mumble, breaking the silence

"Huh?" I hear him mumble in return

"Why were you scared of losing me?" I shyly asked, and he removes his forehead to look at me

"Because I thought I missed my chance to tell you..." He said pausing to fight the sleepiness

"That I like you."

His words rang through my head, while I sat next to his bedside.

"L/n- Chan, how long have you known Kageyama?" His sister asks while she returned with a bowl of cold water and a rag and handed it to me

"I knew about him in middle school, but more than likely he did not know me. I saw one of his games too, with my best friend, but that's about it." I explain while squeezing the extra water out of the rag and lightly began to dap his face.

"You guys really aren't dating." She states while she stared at me and I tilted my head a bit

"W-What do you mean?" I asked wondering if I should play along with what Kageyama said earlier

"I know my brother, it takes him a while to actually like someone." She says and I lightly nod

"It's true, we aren't dating. I don't even know why he said that." I admitted while putting the rag back into the bowl, while she started to giggle

"I have an idea." She said while she started to urge me to quickly strain the rag and join her in the living room.

I gently moved Kageyama's bangs from his forehead so that way I place the rag on his head, before placing the bowl on the nightstand and following her out the door.

She was digging through what I assumed to be her work bag while I quietly shut Kageyama's door.

"Since he decided to call you his girlfriend, lets get back at him." She says pulling out a bunch of make-up and my eyes widened at the sight

"Wait, what are you going to do?" I asked while she dragged me over to the chair

"We are going to get back at Kageyama." She said with a grin

"But how?"

"Well, he doesn't know that I know what he said was a lie. So when he gets up, he is going to think he has to act like your boyfriend." She said and I quickly blush when I realized what she said

"N-No-"

"Aren't you curious what Kageyama would be like if he was your boyfriend?" She inturpects causing me to imagine for a second

"Come on, let's do it." She begs and I finally gave in

"Fine." I say and she flashes me a smile at me before taking my arm, deciding which foundation to use.

"Do you do this for a living?" I asked while she quickly found the color she was looking for

"I usually do my own... I have been thinking about becoming a professional." She says while she wiped my face off with a cool wipe.

"Have you ever had you make-up done?" She asked while she added dots of foundation around my face

"My mom has taught me, but I usually don't do my make-up." I say while she began to blend the foundation in

"How come?" She asks while she pulled my hair back so my whole face was revealed

"I don't get up early enough." I say while I watch her calmly and focused finished applying the foundation and quickly swept on the highlighter

"I need you to close your eyes." She said and I did what she said, and I felt the brush dance across my eyes lids

Soon she finished and presented a mirror in front of me to reveal myself.

I stared at my reflection, I almost looked exactly the same expect I shined? My eyes looked bright, and big. And my lips were a soft pink color.

"Wow." I said in aw while I looked up at her who was looking proudly down at me

"You look beautiful, even with or without the make-up." She says with a smile, while she pulled my hair out of the polytail and started to gentle brush my hair

"I love your h/c." she said while the brush flowed through my hair, and once she det the brush on the table when she finished

"We should start to make dinner." She says when she realized the time, and I looked at the time and paincked

"I need to call Akina." I said while I quickly grabbed my phone and went into the hallway.

The phone rang twice before a voice greeted me

"Hey lovebirds!" Akina said causing me to blush

"Hey, Akina I will probably stay here for dinner," I said dismissing what she said

"Okiiiiiiiiii" She said happily then added "Go and enjoy your date."

"Its not a date!" I shouted into the phone, earning laughter from the otherside of the phone

"L/n, I need your help." I hear Miwa say

"Wait, f/n who was that?"

"I will see you later." I said not answering her question before I hung up

"Coming!" I answered while I shoved my phone into my back pocket

"Cut the veggies, I will do the rest." She said pointing at the veggies that were siting on the counter, and I went over to the vegabtables and picked one up.

"Don't forget to wash your hands." She said and I turned on the water and rubbed the soappy substance all over my hands before I began to cut the vegetables

"I'll go and check up on Kageyama" I said while I finished cutting the last vegetable up before washing my hand

"You will probably need new cold water." She said and I nodded at her words while I headed towards his room

"Kageyama? Are you up?" I said softly while I opened the door to his room

I heard the blankets move around while I got the bowl, and turned on my heel to change the water.

I came back with clean cold water, and I felt a pair of eyes follow me.

"You are still here?" Kageyama in a groggy voice

"Why wouldn't I not be here?" I asked while took the rag off his forehead, and submerged it into the water

"Aren't you able to start volleyball practice today?" He asked and I nodded

"The doctors cleared me to play today," I said while I stared at the rag, while I twisted it

"Then you should be at practice." He said, and I felt him staring but I continued to stare at the rag that was in my hands

"Its fine, some things are more important than volleyball," I said while I leaned towards him to dap his face with the rag but Kageyama

"L/n, look at me." He said softly and I quickly averted my eyes from him

"Why?" I asked and he didn't say anything

"Since your up, I guess you can do this," I said while I try to pull my wrist away from his grip, but a tug from him made me lose my balance

"H-Hey!" I complained while our eyes met

"I knew something looked different about you," Kageyama said while he scanned my face, causing my cheeks to burn up

"Wait, did you catch my cold?" He asked while he lifted his hand to my cheeks and gently touched my warm cheeks

"You're burning up." He says and I quickly moved away from him

"I'm not sick."

"Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not. You need to be worrying about yourself anyways." I say while I drop the rag into the cold water and squeeze the extra water back into the bowl

"Now rest a bit more, dinner will be done soon," I say while placing the rag of his forehead once again.

"L/n, have I said anything weird to you?" Kageyama asks before I get out of my seat

"N-No, why would you think that?"

"When I'm sick I tend to do things I never remember." He said and I smiled at him

"You have been in your bed asleep since I got here," I say and he nods before warping himself in blankets once again and I left the room blushing.

"L/n, I need your help, can you get the strainer out?" I hear Miwa say and I quickly shut Kageyama's door and headed towards the kitchen.

"It smells so good in here," I say in aw while I dig through one of the cabinets until I found the strainer.

I handed it to her before I wandered back into the living room, that was connected to the kitchen.

"How was Kageyama?" She asked while she strained the noodles

"Probably be better by tomorrow."

"So much for me taking off work." Miwa says then looked at me "Wait, aren't you suppose to be at school?"

"I was, but I was at the hospital all day doing a bunch of tests. So I just used that as an excuse to get out of school." I said feeling a little guilty

"Tests? For what?"

"To see if I was eligible to play sports again," I say while I started to flip through the TV channel

"Miwa, what are you making?" Kageyama asks while he opened his bedroom door shocking the both of us

"You should be in bed!" Miwa says while she threatened him with the spoon she was holding

"I feel fine."

"Fine enough to take care of your girlfriend?" Miwa asks, causing silence to price the room

'She actually did it.' I thought to myself, while I glanced at Kageyama who was staring confusedly at me

"I think my girlfriend and I, need to talk for a second," Kageyama said while he signaled me to go into his room

I smiled at him, trying to contain my laugh while I walked towards him.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" I hear Miwa yell as Kageyama closed the door

"Girlfriend?" He asked in a questioning tone

"You asked me if you said anything stupid to me, not your sister,"

His jaw dropped while he tried to remember what had happened.

"When I got to your apartment Miwa was here and asked who I was and you said-" I took come of my hair to try and replicate Kageyama's bangs, along with trying to sound like him "She's my girlfriend."

Kageyama just stared at me in return, blinking a couple of times because of my performance "So is that why she did your make-up?"

"I dunno, we did it to pass time," I say with a shrug

"What do we do?" He asked

"I mean I wasn't that one who dug the hole in the first place," I say holding my hands up

"I guess we will have to play along." He simply said and my eyes widened

'I didn't think he would actually go along with it.' I thought to myself

"Are you sure, we could just tell her it was a lie," I say and Kageyama caught one of my hands and gently entwine his finger with mine

"Yea, but that wouldn't be fun." He says while he pulls me towards the door

'Aren't you suppose to be sick?'
