Chapter 31: Two Dhampire and Angry Bats

"Do you come here to hurt us?"

I look at her for a second before saying.

"Do you want to kill innocent people?"

She tilts her head and shakes it a second later.

"No. Human blood is delicious, but we can survive without blood as we are a Dhampir."

I nod my head and walk toward them. I can see the one with the blindfold hugging the young girl tighter, and she hugs him to comfort him. I destroy the chain around their hands and legs, then walk toward the smaller Dhampir and open the blindfold to see his eyes shine.

I prepare to fight, but instead of getting attacked, I see him cowering in fear and mumbling something.

"I am sorry. I am sorry. I am sorry. I am sorry."

He is afraid. Instead of anger or something, he is afraid. He is afraid of hurting the people who help him and the girl. I blink for a second when something clicks in my head. I know him. I know her. He is Gasper Vladi, the cross-dressing Dhampir, and that little girl must be Valerie Tepes.

I release a sigh and focus on the crying young boy for now. I walk toward him and put my hand on his head. He opens his eyes and looks at me in shock and fear. I don't know the reason why he fears me, but I can guess.

"Y-You are not frozen."

"No. I am stronger and can handle your Sacred Gear."

I sit next to him and say.

"Are you afraid?"

He does not answer my question but nods his head. I smile at him and pick him up. I can hear him yelp at my action, but I ignore it and let him sit on my lap. I give him a hug and let my Sky Flame comfort him.

Slowly but surely, his quivering stops, and I pat his head after it stops.

"You are afraid of hurting your family, right? You are afraid of hurting your only friend."

"En"

It was almost inaudible but a progress.

"You did not need to be afraid of it hurting your friend any longer. I can teach you how to control your power and make you stronger. So strong that you will be the one protecting your loved one."

He looks at me with watery eyes and says.

"Really?"

"Realy."

"But I am useless."

"And who told you that?"

"My father. Then he is stupid. What did your friend say about you?"

"She said that I am not useless and someone who can do anything."

"And you should believe her instead of your father."

He looks down and says nothing, but I can see him now at ease.

"Now, let's cancel your Sacred Gear, okay? Take a deep breath."

He nods and takes a deep breath. I let my Sky Flame make him feel at home so he can relax.

"Good. Now, think of something to put away your Sacred Gear, like pushing a dog back to its home. You need to be firm. They are very bad dogs and need a firm voice. Show the Sacred Gear that you are its owner instead of the other way around."

I can feel his struggle, but after a few minutes, I can see the world return to its original color. I can see him panting, and I pat his head.

"Good boy."

I pick him up and hear him yelp, but I ignore him and put him on my shoulder. I look at my guardians and Valerie before saying.

"Let's go back home."

With that, we are leaving this place and returning to Vindice.

"They hate us, but they are willing to trust us. It is weird."

I look at Valerie and blink a little.

"Oh? How do you know that, Valerie?"

Currently, we are walking through the streets of Vindice after returning from Craiova City. I can see the others looking at Valerie and Gasper with hatred. However, I know that hate is not directed at them but rather at their race.

"Their expression and the aura around them. It is red. They are angry, but that anger is combined with Green. Pity. I wonder why?"

I pat her head and say.

"That is because they pity you, Valerie. They are angry not at you but rather at your race. The majority of them are people who have been terrorized by vampires for decades. They just get the peace they longed for, and they are afraid of you taking them away."

Valerie looks at them and looks at me.

"I will make them change their view toward us. We are not vampires. We are Dhampire. We are not the same. I will make them accept us."

I laugh at her words and pat her head.

"Then I am looking forward to it. For now, let's go to my home and show you the room for the two of you."

"What do you mean your men lose them, Dominik?! I specifically told you not to lose them!"

Marius Tepes, Second Son of Lord Tepes, looks at the expression of his brother in amusement. As a second son and someone who wants to take the throne from his father, Marius will gladly laugh at his older brother's face when he makes a mistake.

However, he will keep his mouth shut for now because this mistake is something that even makes him angry.

The reason? They just lose a powerful weapon that will take their faction to a new height. His half-sister, Valerie, has a very powerful Holy Sacred Gear, and the bastard of Lord Tepes has a Forbidden Balor View, a Sacred Gear that can stop time.

"This is a disaster! Which faction is it?! Is it the Carmilla Faction?! Or worse, the Greek?!"

Dominik shakes his head and says.

"It is not the two of them. It is the human faction. It is the Millefiore Family."

"Those upstairs?! They become a pest. Kill them all and take the two of them back. This will be your last chance, Dominik. Kill them and take those tools back, or you can die just like your brother."

Dominik nods his head and leaves the throne room in shame and anger. He will kill members of the Millefiore Family, but he needs time. He knows how dangerous they are, the ones killing most of the vampires in Ilfov County, losing their territory to a human and making them look weak to the Carmilla Faction.

Because of this, he will gather his group and personally lead the attack. Unlike his brother, he will be careful and make sure the Millefiore Family will not see what is coming after them.
