Chapter 7

"You're heartless," Richard said to Avril.

"You eavesdropped" he glanced at him.

"Only for a bit, I wanted to know what she was going to say... and the poor thing she apologized & begged you but..."

"She threatened me" Avril let out.

"What? She did that..." Richard laughed... "she must be desperate, so what did she say that close that was a threat" he smirked.

Avril glanced at him and sighed, "That she would say I sexually harassed her last night"

"Huh?....she said that" he laughed.

"Mmm, and that she had evidence"

"WHAT?...this is so good " Richard laughed.

His friend glared at him & he stopped instantly.

"So when I came in that's what she was saying?". Avril nodded.

"And what are you going to do about it ?"Richard asked.

Lina breathed angrily as she listened to her friend laughs at her. Now held in the bathroom she had run off after Richard closed the door.

"Your silly Lina. Do you think such a threat can shake such a rich powerful person? With a snap of his finger we can never see you again" she laughed.

"What did you want me to do, I can't lose this chance even if it means being her forcibly" she said.

"Well, all I know now is that your new boss must be enraged to see a nobody who gave him a sleepless night now threaten him in his own company.

Imagine you destroyed his home and suit & now threaten him in his company... what do you think is going to happen to you?".

Lina gulped, "I didn't mean to, it was his fault. And I was just using my brain to survive here"

"No, you were being stupid 'cause right now he must be making preparations to either sue you or make you disappear" her friend laughed.

Lina frowned, "Stop it".

"Okay, so what are you going to do?".

"Nothing am going back in there like it didn't happen and start an internship," she said.

"That's my girl, but if you do disappear am taking your cat & replacing you as your brother's sister" she giggled.

Lina scoffed, "Dream on, am hanging up now"

After a while, she stepped out of the bathroom and walked back to the office.

"Oh, there you are, I was looking for you," said Richard who had stepped out of Avril's office.

"Me.. ahh... Am sorry about what happened to your friend... I...I mean the boss" she said.

He chuckled, "Don't worry yourself about that or him, he's just a grumpy cold man. So where do you want to start," he asked.

She smiled, "I thought he was going to...

Richard led her away," No I convinced him that it wasn't a good idea since you might have evidence "he whispered.

"Oh that I was just being desperate, "she said.

"Don't be silly, you do have evidence. The clothes he threw at you in the morning before you left saying you buy him new ones. That's all evidence "Richard laughed."

"AHH, yeah... But wait why are you telling me this? Isn't it like dangerous for me to have done that " she said.

"What do you think we are, Avril is a good man but just cold. So for now avoid him, lets go and have you do something else in the meantime" he said.

She nodded and they walked off.
