"I'll be off now. Thank you so much, Mrs. Megan." Elizabeth stood up and glanced at her wrist watch.

"No, join us for dinner first." Mrs. Megan smiled and held her hands up in a pleading gesture.

"I really can't…"

"Please, Aunt Beth." A small voice interjected her resisting words followed by continuous tugs on her shirt.

Elizabeth stared down at the little girl who didn't hesitate to add a title to her name and even shorten it, making it sound like they've known each other for years.

"Uhm…okay." She bent down and picked the little girl, holding her in her arms, "I guess I'll have to trouble you then." She turned to Mrs. Megan and smiled.

"Haha, it's no trouble at all." Mrs. Megan waved her hand and led them both to the dining table. She quickly set up the table with the help of her husband. The table was filled with delicious food that looked and smelled amazing. Steam rose from the roast, and colourful vegetables sat in bowls, making everyone's mouths water. Freshly baked bread in a basket smelled wonderful.

After a short prayer, they all began to eat. Mrs. Megan, who seemed to be a very chatty person, did not stop asking questions even when they were all eating. The family seemed to be used to it but Elizabeth was awkward, she felt tension that was non-existent.

She answered all the questions with small sounds of affirmation, and shaking her head positively or negatively. That was until this question was asked,"Do your family live here too?"

"...yes." She answered after a small pause.

"I'd love to meet your parents one day." Mrs. Megan smiled and picked more vegetables for her daughter.

"...They're late." Elizabeth took in a deep breath to stop the tears that threatened to spill out. She stopped eating and just stared blankly at the meal in front of her.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry." Mrs. Megan was genuinely sorry, she placed one hand on her chest and held Elizabeth's hand across the table.

"It's fine." Elizabeth awkwardly but gently drew her hand away.

"But…do you have a sibling?"

"Megan." Chief Vans interrupted his wife. He raised his eyebrow and shook his head.

"I have to leave now." Elizabeth glanced at her watch and stood up from the chair. She really had to leave before it got too dark, "Thank you for the meal, Mrs. Megan. Chief Vans please do well to come back to work tomorrow. She bowed slightly in a polite manner.

"It's nothing, Sweetie. You can come by at any time." Mrs. Megan replied with a smile.

"I'll be at the station tomorrow." Chief Vans said and stood up too, "Let me see you off."

"Goodbye, Aunt Beth." Little Margaret waved with a smile.

"Goodbye, Maggie, Mrs. Megan." Elizabeth returned the smile before walking away with Chief Vans.

As soon as they reached the door, Chief Vans sighed, "Forgive my wife, she can be very gossipy with people she likes."

"I understand." Elizabeth nodded and continued, "Say goodnight to her for me please."

"I will, goodnight." Chief Vans smiled and walked back inside.

Elizabeth rubbed her arms and breathed out a sigh of relief, it was already dark and the cold wind hit her skin, reminding her of the warmth she was shrouded in a few seconds ago.

She walked to her car and got in, letting out yet another sigh. And at that moment, she received a message, it was from her new favourite person, Noel Cassius.

*Having fun?

"F**ker." She murmured underneath her breath and smiled wryly. The more she tried to understand this guy, the crazier she became.

Underneath the seemingly nice message was an address for pickup.

Elizabeth, without complaint or second thoughts drove to the address and as soon as she arrived, she saw a person. The masculine figure was soon fully visible under the car's headlight, the person was a woman or rather a man dressed like a woman.

"What in the world?" Elizabeth exclaimed and stared at the masculine person who stood in a feminine pose, he held his bag like every crazy young woman would, his neck was adorned with a gold necklace and a black choker, his long hair looked fake like a cheap wig, he wore a net leggings under a mini skirt and a tight crop top.

"Is this some kind of sick joke?" She murmured, she glanced at her phone and then back at the man.

She then sent a message to the strange man.

*There's a man here, what should I do next? Is he the one to deliver the package?*

She wanted to add a message, 'or is he the package?' but she quickly deleted it.

A short reply came a few seconds after she sent the message.

*Pick him up*

Elizabeth glanced at the man who was now staring at her direction and muttered, "I guess he's the package." She then honked and he walked towards her, stopping by the window, he knocked on the glass and she slowly rolled it down.

"Hello, sweetie. I can't seem to find a cab." The man's voice was oddly feminine, he charmingly blinked his long lashes but that only made Elizabeth feel disgusted.

"There's no cab coming this way, it's late already, why don't you try calling an uber?" Elizabeth scrunched her nose, the perfume he used was too strong for her to bear but she still managed to squeeze a few words out.

"I wish I could but my phone…it's dead." The man sighed and added with a pleading voice, "Can you give me a ride?"

"Where are you headed?" She asked while silently holding her breath.

"Grewert street, it's quite lonely but I live there." The man pressed his lips into a thin line, his smudged makeup coupled with his smile made him look even more creepier.

Elizabeth took a quick glance at her phone and a message had been received.

*Grewert street*

"Come in." She sighed and waited for the man-like woman to enter the car.

"Thank you, sweetie." The man chuckled and sat comfortably.

Beth, who was conscious of the person behind her, glanced at him through the rear view mirror before starting her car.

She searched for the address on her phone, letting her GPS lead before driving away.
