Ex Seers

Later that evening, IM and I arrived at WRA Company. It was quiet, with only Irune present. She was using her power to create healing water, while Vill examined some papers and Yolan assisted her. Lili sat nearby on a chair, observing them quietly.

Aca walked towards us, a small bird perched on her shoulder. "Hey, you guys are early," she greeted us with a smile.

"Yeah, we are," I replied, though I wasn't actually there physically. I was still at home, lying on my bed and playing on my phone while controlling my duplicate with my mind.

IM walked over to Lili and sat down beside her. "Hey, what's up?" he asked casually.

Lili nodded in response, a small smile playing on her lips.

I looked around, noticing Dove's absence. "Where's Dove?" I asked, confused.

Aca glanced towards Dove's usual seat. "Ah, Dove? She won't be coming in today. She has a photoshoot for her new cosplay," she explained.

Kawwkk Kawwk! the bird on Aca's shoulder squawked.

"Oh, you want to go out?" Aca said to the bird, then left the room.

I walked over to Yolan and Vill, curious about the papers they were looking at.

What are they looking at... I thought.

"What is that?" I asked.

"Confirmation papers, reports, and other documents," Vill replied, looking up at me with her usual smile.

"We're just going through some paperwork for the company," Yolan added, gesturing towards the stack of files on the desk. "It's a bit boring, but someone has to do it."

I nodded, understandingly. "I'm sure it's not as exciting as fighting ghosts and corrupt officials," I joked.

Yolan chuckled. "Definitely not. But it's important work, nonetheless."

I leaned against the desk, watching Yolan and Vill as they sorted through the papers. They seemed to be in their element, their focused expressions and efficient movements a testament to their dedication to the company.

"So, what's the plan for tonight?" IM asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

"No idea," Yolan replied with a shrug. "We're waiting for Dove to get back. She said she had some ideas for our next move."

I settled into a chair near Vill and Yolan, waiting for further instructions. It was quiet and a bit boring in the office, even though IM and I were technically still in the comfort of my bed at home.

Lili walked over, a thoughtful expression on her face. "How about we go to the Seer organization's real headquarters? I still remember where it is..." she suggested hesitantly.

A wave of surprise washed over the room. Going to the Seer's headquarters was a bold move, even for a group of Unveiled.

"Are you serious?" Irune asked, her eyes wide with a mix of excitement and apprehension.

Lili nodded, her voice firm. "Yes. I know where their main base is located. It's a hidden facility deep in the mountains, far from any prying eyes."

Yolan leaned forward, intrigued. "And you think we can just waltz in there and take them down?"

Lili shook her head. "No, of course not. But we can gather intel, find out their weaknesses, and maybe even rescue some of the other Unveiled they're holding captive."

"So there are others besides you and Elang?" I asked, surprised.

Lili nodded. "Most of the people working for the Seers are Unveiled descendants, since it's hard for Seers to pass their powers down to their own children."

"Can't pass their power to their children?" I repeated, surprised.

That's absurd, I thought there were many of them...

Lili nodded. "I heard it from my ex-boss. He struggled to pass his power on to his daughter."

"That explains why they're so obsessed with controlling the Unveiled," Yolan mused, a thoughtful look on her face. "They need us to carry on their legacy, to do their bidding."

Ting! Ting! Ting! Our phones vibrated simultaneously.

Everyone opened their phones to see the notification from Dove in the group chat.

[Dove: @Lili, your friend Elang, the one with the fire power, he escaped from jail.]

A collective gasp filled the room. The news of Elang's escape sent a wave of unease through the group.

"How is that even possible?" Irune exclaimed, her voice filled with disbelief.

"He must have used his powers to break free," IM surmised, his expression grim.

"Elang is the type of person who hates losing," Lili added, her voice tinged with worry. "He'll probably come after you guys."

Us? Well, we did put him in jail for carrying out that dirty commission. But seeking revenge on us...? I thought, a sense of unease creeping over me.

"Do you know where he usually goes?" Yolan asked Lili, her tone serious.

Lili hesitated, her eyes darting back and forth as if weighing her options. "There's a... a place," she finally said, her voice barely a whisper. "It's a large field on the outskirts of the city. He used to go there sometimes to... practice his powers."

I nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. Elang was a powerful Unveiled, and his escape could pose a serious threat to the group.

"We need to find him," I said, my voice firm. "Before he does anything we can't undo."

"I agree," Yolan said, her eyes narrowed with determination. "But we need to be careful. Elang is dangerous, and he won't hesitate to hurt us if he gets the chance."

I stood up from the chair, "So, tonight's mission?"

"Find Elang," IM added, a steely resolve in his voice.

"But I'm not sure... is there any news about that?" Lili asked, a hint of skepticism in her voice. Of course, it wouldn't be guaranteed that Elang would go straight to the large field, especially after just escaping from prison.

"Let me ask Dove," Vill said, pulling out her phone.

[Vill: @Dove, where's the news from?]

[Dove: It's already everywhere. Just search for it.]

Vill quickly opened a news app on her phone and searched for recent updates on Elang's escape. The headlines were alarming:

Dangerous Pyrokinetic Escapes from PrisonAuthorities on High Alert After Concert Pyrokinetic Criminal VanishesFear Grips City After Fire-Wielding Fugitive Remains at Large

"It's all over the news," Vill reported, her voice grave. "They're saying he's a highly dangerous individual with the ability to control fire."

"But there's no mention of where he might be hiding," Irune added, scrolling through the articles.

"That's where Lili comes in," Yolan said, turning to her. "Do you think he'll go to that field?"

Lili hesitated, then nodded slowly. "It's possible. It was his favorite spot to practice his powers. He might feel safe there, away from the city."

"Then that's where we'll find him," IM declared, his voice filled with determination. "Let's go bring him back."

"But!" Lili interjected, her voice filled with urgency.

Lili hesitated, her expression conflicted. "But... what if he's not there? He doesn't know that the Seer Organization abandoned him," she explained, her voice filled with concern.

I could feel her hesitation. She was right; we didn't have any concrete information to confirm Elang's whereabouts. The field was just a possibility, not a certainty.

Everyone in the room paused, a wave of uncertainty washing over them. They were eager to apprehend Elang, but they also didn't want to waste time on a wild goose chase. The tension in the air was palpable as they weighed their options.

Yolan tapped the table, a decisive look on her face. "I think we should rest for today. Let's let the police handle things for now... I also have a lot of work to do here with Vill."

Yeah, I can see that. I also want to rest in my bed, I thought, even though my physical body was already there. This is my deploy...

"Just tell Dove," Irune suggested, understanding the unspoken communication between IM and me.

Yolan opened her phone and typed quickly. "Okay, today is off. You guys can go back home. Let's wait for further instructions..."

Whoosh! With that, IM and my deploy vanished.

Everyone in the room was momentarily confused by the sudden disappearance.

Back in my bedroom, I took off my earphones, having been listening to music while controlling my deploy. I sat on the edge of the bed. "That Elang guy escaped from prison... I mean, he has extraordinary powers... I think we should create a special jail for those strong people, shouldn't we?" I said to IM, who was still lying on his bed.

"Yeah, you should," he replied lazily.

"But how?" I asked, pondering the logistics. "Normal prisons won't be able to hold them."

IM shrugged. "That's where your imagination comes in, doesn't it?" he said with a playful grin. "You could create a prison that's impossible to escape from, a place where even the most powerful beings can't break free."

I mulled over his words, the wheels turning in my mind. "Maybe... a prison made entirely of illusions," I mused. "A place where the prisoners are trapped in their own minds, their reality distorted and manipulated."

"See? You can just use your imagination. Tell Dove that," he said, turning over to go back to sleep.
