FIRST MEETING

He swayed through a few allays but had no sign of the two. Baek Hyun knew he was running out of time if Do Jun was truly with the dark soul.

" Ah..." Do Jun groaned with pain as he thumped to the floor. He was already weak and bleeding. He felt sour all over, with bruises, and knew he couldn't hold him up any longer.

The next few minutes might be gruesome if he couldn't keep up. And having such an evil revengeful soul like him possess his body was definitely a recipe for destruction for both the human world and the afterlife.

" I can't let that happen..." He mumbled, noticing the dark figure advance towards him. Just as fast as he could manage, he struggled to his feet and pushed a fist of fire which blew him to the floor in a distance.

Before he knew it, the poltergeist hit back with an attack which he was too late to evict. It rolled him to the floor and he lay motionless.

An evil laugh soon filled the air as the spirit took his chance to take over his body as a permanent host. That meant Do Jun's powers would also be his~ the best mask he could ever chance on. Hiding under a cover which would be rare to figure him out.

An opportunity to rule both the underworld and humans. The dark shadow slowly lingered above Do Jun~ the clear blue sky instinctively summoned dark clouds as if it was about to rain. Thunders slashed across each other.

Baek Hyun who was just a few steps from the alleyway they were, sensed Do Jun's energy flicker. " No..." He said, his voice trembling with anxiousness as he took to his heels.

" Do Jun !!" He screamed, tossing off the shadow with a large ball of fire. It had almost possessed his body when he arrived~ another second late and it would have been disastrous.

Baek Hyun's eyes burned with fury and concern. " How dare you... evil thing?" He roared, attacking on and on. The shadow had less room to fight and if this persisted, it would be the end of him.

" I didn't escape after those many years just to be swept out like this..." The poltergeist whispered. "... not after she was finally reborn. I have to seek out my revenge." His eyes scanned around for an escape. He was too weak to counterattack. He needed to replenish himself enough to fight back.

Just then, he noticed a delivery truck driver offloading a few boxes in front of a store across the main street. His spirit was vulnerable enough to allow him access to his body. Baek Hyun threw off a fist and he escaped before it hit.

" Hyung..." Do Jun called, his voice weak and he coughed. Baek Hyun who was about to chase after the damn shadow intuitively retracted his steps. " Do Jun..." He cried, rushing to where he was.

" Hey, are you alright?" He asked, his body supporting Do Jun as he sat up. The latter nodded with a yes. " Did you get him?"

That was the first question he asked after a careful glance around. Baek Hyun tilted his head with a no. " But I know where he is...he's not far gone. " As if on an impulse, he queried.

" Hope you can take care for now?" Do Jun's gaze fixed on him in confusion. "... I've called for Yoon and Kang to get you. They'll be here in no time. I need to get that bastard."

His voice was cold. Do Jun bobbed his head. " Don't worry, go ahead. I'll be fine "

With that, Beak Hyun was already gone. Do Jun's eyes searched around expectantly. Slowly, he reached for the wall along the alley and pulled himself up, resting his back over it. " Ah..." He groaned at the sudden pain which surged down his bones.

" Do Jun..." a feminine voice called ahead of him and he traced it. " Ah, Yoon, Kang...you're here," He said, raising to his full length but the pain was too much that he slammed back to the floor.

" Hey...careful." Kang cried. Yoon was already holding him up by then. " How could they have sent you on such a dangerous mission like this with him?" She complained. " You should have volunteered, Kang."

" Why are you attacking me now, Yoon? It's not like I had the power to."

" Even so, you should have tried, he's still a newbie for crying out loud...Oh?" She exclaimed on an impulse. " Don't tell me you're also a coward just like the others?"

" Yoon..." Kang roared and Do Jun knew he had to step in. These two were the cat and dog of their team. Leave them for a minute and that would be a yarn of war.

" Can we go already?... We can talk about this later." He expressed and Kang agreed even though Yoon wasn't over her beef but then, they needed to get him treated first.

In a blink, the alley was empty. The three had safely arrived in the underworld.

Baek Hyun got to the store where the truck was but he noticed the shadow had already hung on the driver. The driver instinctively veered into motion the moment he saw Baek Hyun in the mirror.

Although the human eyes couldn't see Baek Hyun, the driver was now able to see him due to the shadow possessing him.

" Hey, Mr. Jung!!". The store attender called his back but he was already far gone. " What's up with him?" His brows furrowed in confusion. "... he didn't even take the money. Did something happen?"

He thought but he had nothing to do about it. All he needed to do now was to wait till his next visit. With a sigh, he returned to his work. " Welcome ma'am...how may I assist you?"

" I'm looking for this ." The lady said, showing him a product on his phone.

" Oh, over here." He respectively led her to the designer bag zone.

***************

Hyun tailed the truck. He wanted to drag out the shadow but that wouldn't be possible. Any least mistake on his side and a lot more vehicle would be coined in another gruesome accident and that wasn't what he had aimed for.

Before he knew, the truck had veered off the main road into the lane leading to SHINMOK HIGH SCHOOL where the driver was supposed to deliver a few boxes of new books.

The shadow had now become one with the body and so he had decided to take on the driver's daily mission so it wouldn't be obvious.

The truck halted right at the parking lot. And after Mr. Jung had made sure it was safe with Baek Hyun not close, he quickly picked up the boxes and headed straight towards the library.

" Good morning, Mr Jung!!" The few kids he came across bowed in greetings and others called from a distance and waved. It seemed he was a regular and a lovely person towards the kids.

He briefly responded with a smile. Since he was one with the body, he was able to access his memories so it was easy to act along. Soon, he stopped at the entrance of the library.

" Greetings, Mr. Jung, over here." The library attendee welcomed as she led him to the store room. They walked past a few shelves and finally along the shelf where Eun Ji and Hae Su's table was.

Eun Ji was facing Hae Su who's back was in direct contact with the shelves. She could make out anything happening in the library. That's how she noticed Mrs Heejin with Mr Jung heading towards the store room.

She was about to call out to him since she usually had that Uncle niece playful relation with him but then, "Mr Jung..." the words came in a whisper when she noticed the huge dark shadow which tailed him.

Her hand which was stuck in mid air slowly dropped down. " What's that?" She mumbled and Hae Su gazed up from her book.

" What was what?– Are you alright?" She asked on an impluse, noticing the look in her eyes. Her eyes was stuck behind her back as if staring at a ghost.

" Why?" Hae Su sounded scared. " Is something behind me?" She slowly asked as she nervously turned to check her back but it was empty. " What is wrong with you?"

" Nothing~ I'll be right back." She said as she headed off towards the path they had taken earlier .

Just when she rounded the corner, she slammed into someone which caused her to fall to the floor. " Hey!, watch where you're going!!" a masculine voiced howled.

" Sorry...sorry, my bad." She said as she stood to her feet. " Sorry I didn't watch where I was~" She continued but when their eyes finally met, she knew he wasn't human.

He was a young guy around her age but his aura and glowing face definitely showed he was not of this world nor their school. It was a face she had never met before.

Her mind was still comprehending but before she could say any other thing, he hurried off towards the store room. He couldn't believe she was able to see him.

" How was she able to see me?" He seemed bothered. Was he losing his powers or something?

These questions kept battling in his mind. But then he had something more important to do at the moment. He could figure out who she was later.
