(Valerie's POV)

(Night after the party, in Valerie's room)

[Valerie is pacing around anxiously because she has to update that person but doesn't know how to contact them.]

It's been a long day, and I, just can't wait anymore. Maybe trying to contact first can work this time. I have already talked to them over messages once.

[Valerie picks up her phone and starts to type a message but before she can press the send button she receives a new message.]

"I saw that you finished your task quite well. But, for your information, it was only the beginning."

I guess the link is working fine. I have done my part of the deal so maybe now I can ask them to do something for me.

"I know that. I started to work with you after calculating all my options."

[Approximately 5 minutes later...]

"I didn't expect you to be so calculative... maybe you were so calculative from the get-go and that's why you killed your adoptive mother to save your fiance."

"Shut Up!! You don't even know what happened and spouting nonsense!"

"What if I tell you, I was present there at the scene when you committed the crime?!"

"It's impossible! I know that it was not me! Bryce was the one who killed her!"

"Your memories were gone when you were interrogated by the police and how you are claiming that Bryce was the one?? Don't try to act innocent with me."

"No! Please no! I know what happened that night and don't even try to confuse me!"

"I will eventually uncover the truth so the only thing you do right now is to pray that whatever you remember is the incident that took place that night."

[Abruptly the conversation ends and all Valerie is left with is confusion, guilt, and sadness. She throws away her phone and collapses down beside her bed. All she can do is having flashbacks of that night. She thinks that her memory is still not fully recovered, even after getting medical help for the past two years, but it's impossible that she was one who harmed her mother.]

I was not the one. I'll prove it to everyone. I'll show the true face of THE Bryce Carter to everyone. But how come this person is saying that they are an eyewitness. It's impossible!

[Valerie curls up into a ball position and closes her eyes.]

I need to line up the incidents that happened according to the timeline I can remember.

It was the night before our engagement party. Mom asked me to meet her around the evening. She told me about some crazy human experiments Simpleton Corp. doing with some drugs and how evil Bryce is. All I wanted was to confront him and know the truth. I went to his study to talk to him about that and after that all I can remember was seating beside my mom's dead body holding a knife and crying like an idiot.

UGH! Why the hell I can't remember what exactly happened between the time I went to see Bryce and my mom died. But in no way possible I was the one responsible for it. If it were me then this revenge plan will lose its purpose.

[Valerie lies down on the floor in fetus position just like an ice cube melts. And the room fills with her whimpering.]

(End of Valerie's POV)

("That person's" POV)

[That person is still sitting beside the grave of 'Freya West'. She is talking to the person lying underneath].

'Mom, you know, Valerie did the my first task well. But the result was unexpected. I expected her to fail, but she installed the tool perfectly. The system was a dummy one so I couldn't retrieve any useful information and I never expected to get any information there either.'

[They caress the headstone.]

'One thing for sure, she is not planning something with Bryce. Now I think I can let her know about my identity. I think after knowing who I am she will be more desperate to find out the truth.'

[Suddenly with a gust of wind the hood of their hoodie slides off. And their silver can be seen. They hurriedly cover their head and stands up.]

'The time has come. I can't keep ordering her around like this. I'll ask her meet up. We will have a lot to talk about. I'll be heading back to NYC tonight so maybe asking her meet me there will be safer. NYC is out of Bryce Carter's turf...'

[Slowly they walk away while thinking about their future plans.]

(End of "That person's" POV)

(Bryce's POV)

(The night after the engament party, Bryce's room)

[Bryce is pacing around his room restlessly and continously picking up his phone and putting it down.]

(Ring ring~~)

'What took you so long Leisel?!'

'Boss, the location filtering used by that rat was really good. But I retrieved the location.'

'Who is that rat? Do you know that?'

'No boss. we only know the location. Surprisingly it was from a place really near to the mansion.'

'What? Where is it?'

'We located the sender's location at a cemetery named "God's Acre".'

"What type of joke is it?!'

'Boss, I'm serious. Isn't it the place where Freya West is lying? Is it someone related to her?'

'I don't know. I don't think it was Valerie so you should look into this matter more.'

'Yes Boss. By the way, form the CCTV footage of your fiancee's room I saw her using her phone quite a lot and when I looked into it more I found some messages send to her phone from the same location as the mails the guests and you recieved.'

'Interesting... were you able to find out the contents discussed in those messages?'

'No, it was highly secured and I couldn't retrieve the data.'

'Okay. Try to take care of this rat as soon as possible.'

'And what should I do with your fiancee?'

'Let her play by herself. YOu don't need to think about her. I'll take care of her later if she tries to act to smart.'

'Okay Boss.'

V, how come you have become this sharp? You are trying to plan something against my back and thought I won't be able to catch a whiff of it. How silly.

I think the time has come to remind you again how foolish your these types of attempts are, and if I find your involement in this whole blakmail situation I've to think twice about our relationship. I can't just let you mess with me just because I love you.

(End of Bryce's POV)

(Valerie's POV)

(Morning 7 AM, Valerie's room)

[Valerie is lying down on the floor looking like a total mess. She was not able to sleep a wink last night and continously had nightmares. Now as the sun has started lighting up her room she gets up from the floor looking totally blank.]

It was a loooooong night. It is only the beginning if I keep being a wealing like this how will I be able to support them at their plan. I won't be able to stay alive under Bryce's 24/7 watch without getting suspected. I've to man up.

[To put an end to Valerie's all night long suffering her phone lits up.]

(ting~)

[Her phone screen is showing, "1 new message recieved".]

"I think the right time has come. We should meet."
