You'll catch a cold from the ice in your eyes

Elijah was making his way through the crowd while eyeing everyone, hoping to catch a glance of either Jasmine or Jordan.

It was such a dumb idea to bring her to a bar, what was Jordan thinking for the love of God.

Its ten times better than leaving her back with Mary. His subconscious mocked him. He let out a sigh of regret once he remembered what he did hours ago. Leaving her was the stupidest thing he did in a long time. Just moments before he was apologizing and assuring her they will get through it together, he just walked away like she didn't even exist. The presence of Steph always knocked every sense he has in him. She can do so much worse to him and the fact that this effect hasn't vanished or even relived with all this time that passed, its going to mess every plan he had going on. From ending all ties with the Kings and having Jordan reclaiming his rights back inside, to even the simplest thing which was getting his full revenge on every side.

No this isn't possible. The drinks he had at the office before heading down here was just messing with his mind.

He stopped midway once he caught the glimpse of Jay's black dress at the corner of his eyes.

There has to be a way to get what he wants. There always is a way, and he is not going to let anything stop him. Not even her.

Jasmine was sitting at the bar's window holding two plants between her hands seeming like she was having a full important conversation with them.

Elijah was feeling stunned as his eyebrows furrowed at the sight in front of him. Her long legs were swinging side by side like a five year old on a swing and despite the small size of the window, her slim figure still fit perfectly and she seemed comfortable. She was even smiling between every two words.

Her cheeks were a dark shade of red and her hair was now falling ahead of her face and looked a little messed up. Dancing probably caused that. Her makeup was a little off but the red lip stick still looked perfect along her thin almost heart shaped lips.

She looked happy and he didn't know if it was because she was not wearing her heels or because of the alcohol that was in her blood now. He decided it was probably the second choice.

"What an early arrival, mate." Jordan's voice was full of sarcasm Elijah didn't miss.

"Well I thought of having another drink or two but I didn't feel like leaving my wife at some lonner bar." He answered dryly eying the place.

Jordan chuckled a little. "Right but you felt better leaving her behind with your mad aunt and twisted ex knowing they were ganging up on her."

"They weren't going to do anything, and I knew nothing of such thing."

"Don't bullshit me, Jay told me everything that happened." His voice was now filled with Earnestness.

Elijah looked at Jasmine for seconds. Why would she tell him everything that happened. Did she tell him about there marriage agreement too?

No she wouldn't.

He heard Jordan sigh as he stood beside him eyeing his wife with the same wierd expressions.

"I'm not in the mood to talk about this. It already ruined enough, and its almost dawn." -He eyed his watch to make sure before finishing-" you should take your wife before she starts taking her cloth off again and go get some rest, check in a hotel or something. I wouldn't go back to the mansion if I were you."

"Taking her cloth off again?" Elijah repeated after him.

Jordan looked at him with a hint of humor "yes take her cloth off again, God it was so HARD to keep that dress zipped up in her body, not to forget her attempts of ripping it off when she couldn't." He laughed a little at the memory that played in his mind.

Elijah looked back at him wanting to erase that smug look on his face. If he touched her in a wrong way or even seen something he shouldn't, she will not let it pass. She will kill him once she's sober enough to remember.

Jordan took a sip from his drink "Don't worry mate, I didn't see or touch anything, she wouldn't even let me." He answered to defend himself.

"If she did would you?" His voice was cold as always.

"And take advantage of a drunk? Com'on you know me better than that."

You won't do it because she's just drunk?" His words hinted some disappointment.

Jordan seemed to be waiting for a response off of him and these words were all he got. After what Jasmine told him he wanted to see for himself.

"I'm joking mate, nah, I won't do that to my own blood. I don't touch the women my people fuck remember."

Elijah rolled his eyes at his cousin's choice of words and looked back at the window. When his eyes didn't find Jasmine his heart beat increased a little.

He turned around and his eyes once again started to roam the place for the sight of her. He had no idea she has such bad habits of drinking and he was not ready to see her strip in the middle of this bar that was filled with this much people.

"Oh shit."

He heard his cousin's voice and when her turned to look at him he was already gone at the back beside the bathrooms trying to get Jasmine away from the stair handles. she was trying to climb them like a five year old. When he finally got to control it, her hands went down to the edge of her dress.

Oh God. This isn't good.

Elijah started running and before he could comprehend anything his hands where on hers trying to pull down the dress. Jordan was holding her by her waist and her legs weren't even touching the floor. She isn't short by any means, Jordan was just that huge.

Once her eyes landed on Elijah, she smiled the sweetest smile he had seen all day between those lips.

"Hello love."

The words surprisingly sounded sweet between her voice. Her voice itself sounded different. The amount of shots she had must've messed up her vocal strings a little.

"Hi. How much did you drink?" His voice came out a little soft.

She giggled like a high-school girl going through her puberty " I dunno, I stopped counting at 4."Her hands left her dress and it caused his own to make contact with her bare cold thighs.

"I told him I don't drink but he said that I can have a cup or two to relieve the stress." Her voice turned a little playful and she sounded more like Jordan.

He looked up at his cousin with a look that made him choke on his own breath.

"And what stress exactly that you had to drink your self into oblivion?"

Her eyes turned a dark shade with a hint of fear behind.

"Your precious 'Nany' almost killed me." She made sure to say nany with his same deep voice.

Jordan's chest was moving duo to his loud laughter "stop over exaggerating Jay, she just wanted to cut you a little."

"Cut me open." She rolled his eyes and looked at him causing their noses to touch and Jordan just dropped her off his arms.

Jasmine's head collided with Elijah's shoulder and she threw her head back whining like a kid.

"Sorry dear but your lips almost brushed mine. Not a good idea in front of him."

Before anyone could stop her, Jasmine turned and slapped Jordan right through his face and Elijah's expressions were just priceless. His mouth hung open and his eyes were as wide as a golf ball.

Jordan was just frozen and only looked at her when she spoke.

"If you ever touch me again I will shove your nose up that fat ass of yours."

Jordan look behind him and was moving in circles trying to look see what ass she saw fat and Elijah's laughter just filled the place.

"I don't have a 'fat ass'." He mocked her american accent and she was about to hit him again if Elijah hadn't held her back, though he was struggling to contain his laughter he did well holding her back.

"How dare you mock my accent when you sound like you just swallowed a frog." She threw her hand to reach him but Elijah quickly caught that too.

"You know it was him you wanted to choke hours ago and not me." He pointed at Elijah that gulped a little with his words.

I don't think he can deal with feisty long tongue Jasmine right now.

"Whose he?" Jasmine turned around to take a good look at him before looking at Jordan "who're you?"

Elijah placed her down on the floor and helped her steady. But once she tried to take her dress off again Elijah decided he had enough of drunk Jasmine for the day. He lifted her up on his shoulders and he was surprised she didn't fight back. Maybe her energy finally dropped to none.

Jordan took off his jacket and covered her almost all revealed thighs. She kept mumbling different words most of them cursing and dissing both he and Jordan.

Elijah stopped listening after she called them thiefs and perverts.

"You had a long day sweetheart, go get some rest." Jordan was about to walk back to the bar but Elijah's voice stopped him.

"You said you don't think it's a good idea to go back to the mansion. And she said Marry almost killed her. What the hell happened?"

"Ask her once she's sober, your going to have that talk with her either ways."

"I need to hear it from someone who's aware, not someone that walked in blindfolded."

"Its so funny hearing this come from you mate, if you knew she was not ready why did you leave her? I had to get her out of there before they ate her next as dessert." Jordan's voice got louder and he was losing his temper.

"Why would you even bring someone like her into this bloody mad family? She does not deserve this."

Elijah was watching him closely and and he had a feeling he knew more than he should.

"Why would you assume that?" His voice was calm like always.

"What?"

"Why would you assume she doesn't deserve this."

"You think she does?"

"I didn't say that. I'm just wondering why you question my decisions." His eyes were back being cold and all the laughter that filled it earlier was gone.

Jordan walked closer to him. His voice sounding deeper than usual "exactly. I know you better than most people, hell I know you better than you even believe. So for the past three hours the only thing thats been ringing on my mind is why would you bring such incontinence to our poisonous blood."

Elijah chose to ignore him. He knew he had to answer that question at some point.

Why her.

But its not the right time now, not when it barley started. He just needs to focus more.

"Get out and take her to a better place. You can still add some manners before she's fully sober."

Elijah watched him walk away and soon followed by leaving to a hotel. He knew his cousin was a lot of things, idiot, Heartbreaker, smug, anything but stupid. If he said to not go back, then he should not go back. He'll find out why after Jasmine's more sober.

Placing her neatly in the passengers seat he struggled a little to put on her belt while she was trying to sing on her high heels that she considered a mic for her loud words. She was screaming the lyrics of John Mayers paper doll in his ears when he finally succeeded on attaching the belt.

Elijah could swear his eardrums bursted just now. After a good time of one and a half hour they were finally inside their now shared hotel room. He thought of getting two different ones but he just doesn't trust her if she's not fully sober. By now he could easily believe she could jump out the window thinking she can fly after hearing her speak about how she thinks every human represents an animal and she thinks she's an owel.

He laughed a little after remembering her blurt out everything in her mind.

He sat down near the bed where Jasmine was laying. He noticed she was watching all his movements closely with heavy eyes. He looked at her back with much wonder than ever.

She seems to be more different than he

Met her. He analyzed her in a wrong way.

Or maybe he's just wrong and the liquid he had still kicked in him.

"Whats going on that mind of yours." Her voice still sounded more sweet that usual. He knew she was still drunk, not as before. But drunk enough to not think twice before doing anything.

"Why would you want to know?" He exhaled in a voice that matched his eyes.

"Why wouldn't I?" She smiled a little and he is now convinced she smiles her best when she's light headed.

"No one usually does." He replied dryly.

"Liar liar pants on fire." She sat up and sang like her five year old self.

He fought back a laugh and watched her every move.

"Tell me why."

"Because everyone that ever did realized what a fucked up mentality it has." His voice trailed off. "It will spew venom in your veins and hurt you."

"You think you will hurt the people who choose to come close to you?" He felt sympathy in her words.

"Trust me you wouldn't feel so bad for me once you know how fucked up I am."

"Shhhh. Hey no cursing allowed. Its against the rules." She stood up and placed herself beside him.

He laughed a little "what rules?"

"Mine."

"Well I'm sorry."

Bringing her knees to her chest, she hugged them and placed her head on top.

"I think its a good idea your shutting people out." He looked back at her and she once again smiled.

"You know you smile too much when your drunk." He bit back his own smile saying those words.

"And you are in trouble once I'm not drunk."

"I know. I deserve it. I shouldn't have left you back there."

Her eyes turned soft " yeah your right. I didn't deserve that."

"Why do you think its a good idea to shut people out." He wanted to know her thoughts and it seemed like the best time.

She pursed her lips together and looked around thinking for a some seconds. Elijah was watching her from up close and it was the first time he realizes her Hazel eyes where more brown than most hazel eyes he's seen.

"Its like this to me, if I let them get close to me and my beliefs, they will only wreck and ruin them. And they're the only thing I have that is not shared with others, they're the only things that are fully mine. Not my name, not my worth, not my education or even my morals. They're just me and who I am. Because human beings are destruction and they damage whatever they touch. I will not let them do that for me."

She looked back at him and for seconds she was lost between green eyes filled with storms and silence while they seemed to only be in such distance.

"What about you? Why are you so..frosty."

"Don't you have a saying that goes ' curiosity killed the cats?"

"Well I'm no cat." She smiled.

He gave her an amused smile "so you shouldn't be curious."

"You look much better when you smile." He laughed a little at her words.

"I get that alot." His laughter matched hers.

"Well its better that way. Not smiling so much and being cold and all."

Her words confused him. She doesn't mind his cold attitude?

"You don't think I'm much of a handle?" The words left his mouth before he could stop them.

"Well not really, you are tiring and your good at frustrating people alot. So you kind of are a handle."

He looked at her with such disappointment.

"But that doesn't mean you should change who you are. I mean I've been married to you for a week and something now but I don't mind dealing with you. I think."

He laughed again with her last two words. He seems to be laughing with her more than he ever did. He thought he would spend the rest of this night in his office drinking himself into death after what happened. But he's actually in a hotel room having a heart to heart talk with his wife and getting to know what she is on real life not the papers. Maybe the books are sometimes wrong.

"Anyways I think its not weird you keep everything inside and just don't know how to explain your self so you just choose to be silent. It makes the rare times you do worth waiting for you know."

Maybe her didn't think this through very well. Getting married to her wasn't one of the best decisions he made so far.

Her hands landed on his and he did nothing to stop her or move them away.

"Rare is okay and different means beautiful." Her eyes held small lights within.

Her fingers were surprisingly warm as they brushed over his cold ones.

She moved closer to him until both their bodies were touching one another.

He once again didn't stop her or try to leave. Usually by this time her would just get up and walk away. There are certain humans that are allowed to touch him, and seems to be he forgot to add his own wife to the list. But it didn't matter now because she made her own way in.

"A couple days ago I read this quote that suits you so much." She broke the silence and stopped him from admiring her eyes with such a close veiw.

"What was it?" He calmly said.

"You'll catch a cold from the ice in your eyes."

Silence fell over them before both their laughter filled in the room.

"You need some sleep." He said when he saw her fighting to keep her eyes open.

He was surprised at himself when he felt a little down about it. A part of him wanted to keep speaking a little more to her but they couldn't. She's had enough for her day. He couldn't even imagine how bad of a hangover she was going to have tomorrow.

"Okay." After her words she put her head in his shoulders and before he could do anything to get her away she was fast asleep.
