Did she really want to stab us?

Every single person has something they turn truly weak against, for the better or worse it changes them completely into someone else no one can recognize, it makes them go blind and deaf to every rule they stand up to and everything they believe, its what hunts them at 3:00 am so suddenly and keeps them full of unforgettable pain.

Its what your made to believe will break everything you spent your whole life building and won't mind, they say its a flame of Afire that will ignite you, and you will gladly stand to feel every part of the burn.

To Elijah it was a red head with dark green eyes that have devils within, who turn you into thier personal slave just by looking at them.

It was the only woman he loved and the first to break him to countless peices.

It was Stephanie King.

Elijah looked at her with a mixture of so much emotions, no one could read it, and when Steph lifted her lips up a little seeming so proud she is the reason why he changed completely, it was known this was intentional.

Steph walked up and kissed Nany Marys head before placing herself beside Farina. She turned and greeted everyone she knew on the table and all they did was just nod to her. Their tongues went completely numb and suddenly it became hard for both Jasmine and Lucy to be a part of the table.

"Hello dear, I'm Steph." Jasmine tried to face her with a smile so similar to her own.

Her New Zealand accent sounded so stedy on her raspy voice.

"Hi, I'm Jasmine." Was all she could say, she didn't want to add anything else. To her surprise, Steph smiled such a sweet smile to her before replying

"Its so nice to meet you, you look much more beautiful in person." She played with her voice enjoying the fact that she had the whole table staring at her.

"Archer, I'm so glad you came."

Jasmine looked up to see that someone was sitting beside Allen. She didn't even notice him enter behind Steph. He looked so much like her and it was obvious they were siblings, he was a dark red head with dark brown eyes with a firm jawline.

"I'm sorry I showed up uninvited but Steph insisted." His voice sounded quite sexy with the same accent of Steph's.

"No need to apologize dear, we're family." Nany Mary laughed a little before finishing "lets eat before the food gets cold."

Eveyone was soon busy with their plates, Caden seemed bored and Iden was uncomfortable, while Lucy looked like she would rather be at a million different places than here.Allen and Farina just looked usual, seemed like they were always used to this kind of situations.

Jasmine kept on glacing at Elijah every three seconds. He barley touched his food and was just staring at the plate with a blank expression. It was a new look she noticed he placed for them to see.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding." Steph pulled Jasmine out of her thoughts of Elijah.

"Hmmm?."

"I wanted to come really but I-"

"Was too busy playing hide and seek."

Everyone turned to face Elijah with the sudden Comment. His voice had a hint of rage and disappointment at the same time.

"But either ways you weren't invited so you weren't supposed to come."

"Elijah." Nany Marys strong voice echoed through the room and it was clear she didn't like him being rude to her guests.

"This is not a way to treat a guest."

"Since when was Stephanie a guest Nany?" He looked at her with cold eyes using such a frosty exhale.

"She basically lived here at some point, so stop trying to play housing." He placed down the fork he was toying between his fingers and was about to stand up but his Nanys voice stopped him

"We're not done yet, you can't leave."

"Well I am and I'm leaving, you can't stop me." Elijah stood up and Jasmine was about to do the same

"No one told you to move Jasmine." Jasmine froze in her place with no life in her as Her blood turned cold. It was an effect she had on other people.

Oh God.

Marys voice was changing and she was running out of patience. Jasmine looked up at Elijah but he didn't even notice her presence, all he wanted was to get out of that room because it was suffocating. The thought of her being present in front of him itself made him feel weak and he was not going to give in whatever she and Mary planed on doing. Not after what happened.

"I suggest you hear me out first, if you don't want this to get ugly." These first words were enough for him to sit back and look at her. The sight of Steph at the corner of his eyes was bringing him emotions he long ago buried.

"I gathered everyone here because I can not tolerate what's happening," -eyeing everyone present she continued- "I've been busy lately with my tea gathering and the office agreements too much that you guys are getting out of hand. One's getting engaged to a girl i can eat for dinner.." -the comment only affected Lucy since it was about her..- "the other decided to go marry a.." -she looked at Jasmine to find the perfect answer- " gold digger? No your not that pretty to be one.. I don't know what are your intentions are being here but you should know I'll make you regret it."

Jasmine wasn't even able of breathing, she froze still like there is no life in her. Those ocean blue eyes where so hypnotizing.

Mary looked back at Elijah "I know you."

The look on her eyes where enough to show how serious her words were.

"and I'm going to figure this out.what ever play you have going on, i suggest you stop before its out of your hand."

She sighed after a while.

"Why don't you just make sure you apologize and do the right thing."

"And what might that be?" Elijah's voice was able to keep up with her curel one. If there was anyone who could handle Mary, it was him.

"The reconcile between Knight's Association and King's Coportion."

His laugh filled in the room.

"There will be no such thing, not with me, not with anyone else from the Knight's, the relationship with the King's Coportion will stay as it is.. I will make sure of that." And for the first time Elijah was able of looking at Stephanie into her eyes.

"And apologize? You must be going mad."

His words and the look he was giving showed no regret to whatever he must've did to her.

"I would like to add the same thing, actually I came here to share that I myself will get married soon." She replied to him with a challenging look, not being effected one bit.

Eveything fell silent and only Elijah didn't seem shocked. He knew this was going to happen because he knew her like the back of his hands.

He also knew who she was going to get married to. The thought of him made Elijah want to punch the nearest wall.

"What do you mean dear?" Mary seemed to be caught off guard by here words.

"Yeah, I came to also invite everyone here, the official Engagement party will be held next week and it would mean so much if you guys come."

Elijah bit back the ironic laugh.

Is she being serious right now?

She must've filled that empty heart of hers with bullshit while she was away.

Steph looked at him again and Elijah's heart beat started to increase, trying not to fall into the traps those green eyes always had for him, he stood up. He needed to leave, he was not alright with her being present in front of him. Not with her looking like her best sitting down like that so calmy and looking at him as if nothing happened.

"Elijah, sit down. You know better that to trigger me." Mary was mad at what she just heard and was willing to throw it at anyone that was on her way.

"And you know better than to mess with me."

He was unbothered. She didn't sacre him one bit, and that triggered her more.

Being rude seems to be a thing in his blood.

"I will hurt that doll of yours."attention was once again on Jasmine. "You know I can."

He turned to look at Jasmine for the first time since they were seated. Eyes of spilled honey and a green storm met half way. They looked at each other with different emotions. He was just reminded that she was there and she looked like she wanted the floor to just swallow her. His expressions soon turned into boring ones when he facen Mary again.

Without saying anything he just left the room and Jasmine had no idea what to do.

Should she follow him?

No she would just look like more of an idiot.

What the hell is she supposed to do with these people alone without him? For God's sake they were his family not hers.

He promised her they would get through this together, but here he is leaving her. Again.

Jasmine cursed the day she accepted this marriage and looked up when she heard Steph talking to her.

"I'm sorry he's always like this, its so hard to get and emotion out of him." She spoke out of experience, it was clear as the sun.

Jasmine just smiled not knowing what to answer.

"Jordan. Kind of you to finally join us." Jasmine looked up to see him and he had the same expressions Elijah had looking at Steph, only this time it seems as if he was looking at a ghost.

"What are you doing here?" earnestness filling the gaps in his voice.

"Stop being rude and come have your dinner." Mary added her usual tone.

The times she had seen him all drunk is making it hard to believe this is him with that weird tone.

What the hell did Steph do to them?

"Jordan. Its been so long." Steph's voice was as steddy as ever.

"Not long enough." His cold tone was almost as sharp as Elijah's.

"I was hoping you'd be here earlier."She smiled a little. "I'm here to give an official invitation to my-"

"No thank you." He walked passed them to the table and took an apple of the fruits while eyeing everyone.

"When did you arrive Caden?" He looked confused at her presence.

"A week ago, we met almost every day by the way, but your always naked or drunk, or both to even notice me." She smiled back a smile differing her words.

He nodded knowing he won't win with her as he looked at both Lucy and Iden.

"A new hookup Mr.Knight?" His eyes where roaming all over Lucy and her body and everyone rolled their eyes at that.

"Fianceé actually."

"Hmm, is that a new way of getting them better in bed?" Jordan was full of disrespect, like the rest of the family.

Iden was about to speak but marys voice broke his

"Stop it, you can't show up late and be this rude."

He chuckled a little and it sounded ironic.

"My bad,It runs in the family blood M."

Jasmine was just staring at him, this is the first time she sees him fully sober after her engagement, he was acting completely different then she expected. He was trying to hide his feelings by spitting venom.

When he's eyes fell on her his eyebrows furrowed a little. He went back to eyeing everyone looking for Elijah. When he figured he probably left or wasn't here in the first place he bit his lips.

"Why are you here by yourself?" He sounded more angry than concerned.

Jasmine opened her mouth twice to answer but each time she didn't know what to say.

Elijah stormed out full of anger after seeing his ex? Or he just ignored her presence and decided right now wasn't a good time to act like a loving husband?

She had no answer.He was right. Why was she even here at all?

"Where would she be?she's family now." Allen spoke up and Jasmine almost forgot he and Farina were even here.

"Anywhere else but here," -he eyed both Mary and Steph-" away frome these two." It was clear he felt disappointed at what was happening.

"Jordan. I will not let it slide next time. Stop. Being. Rude." Her words were enough to show the threat in her eyes.

Jordan rolled his eyes and started walking.

"Its fine, there will be no next time today, I have to leave either ways."

he stopped beside Jasmine and took a hold of her hand to help her stand up.

Mary's patient was out and she was not going to let him embarrass her more.

She stood up quickly and in her seat, with the knife she had in her hand she threw it at both of them.

Its wasn't obvious whether she really wanted to hit them or just to scare them. But it landed less than 5 cm away from both their hands.

If Jasmine thought she was terrified before, then this is just a whole new stage of it.

The woman just threw a knife at them!

Let me repeat that..

That old hag was about to STAB THEM!!!

Her blood turned into ice and the air was only leaving her lungs without entering. Jordan froze in his place for seconds. He then looked at Mary with the same looks he had since he turned away from Steph's eyes.

"I said I will not let it slide. If your leaving then go, fine by me. But don't mess with the rest."

"I am not going to let you guys eat her alive. She has nothing to do with this. Your guest is here so just shove the food down your throat and stop talking so much."

"Her own husband left her, why would you care?" Steph spoke up, her dark green eyes looking even more darker.

Jordan didn't even care to reply and The next thing Jasmine felt was her standing on both her feet and being dragged out of there. She was still processing what has just happened and whats been said.

"All three of you, were not done yet."

She could hear Mary's voice fainting the more they walked away and before she knew it they were outside in the garden.

"We need to get out of here, until That bloody bitch leaves." What ever feeling he was hiding in there seems clear in his voice now.

"We?" She barely spoke and she was hoping he didn't hear her. But when he stopped in his tracks and looked at her she knew he did.

"YES WE. If you want you can gladly go back inside and next time you won't be so lucky to miss her knife." He let go of her hand and she stopped moving. Sense was finding its way back to her.

"Did she really want to stab us?" She was afraid to ask but she still did.

"I don't know what she wants, no one knows what goes on in that loody mind of hers." He turned around to face her."but if you want to find out fine by me." He got inside the car after the Chauffeur stopped it infront of them. It was a blue sports car with an engine sound that filled the quiet place.

She didn't think twice to get on and once sye did he stepped on and they were driving as fast as she has ever felt in any car.

His blue eyes were a dark shade and the wrinkled beside his eyes and in his eyebrows showed how upset and hurt he felt. He seemed to be in deep thoughts and Jasmine was hoping she would get out of this car alive.
