She was too preoccupied with appreciating the good peculiarities that the university has that she only realized now how some girls are looking at her.
At first, she's clueless but then she remembered, she didn't do anything to herself now. She didn't fix herself too much. She didn't make some effort to look good. Perhaps that's the reason for the rude stares?
"As usual…there's always this one student…"
Brittany looks fine. Actually, she looks perfect. She always dressed up and fixes herself like that. It's natural for her to look classy.
While her? She's not into those things. Sure, she has fine jewelry and designer bags too—all gifts from her mom—but that's it.
She has them but the problem is she doesn't know how to use them. She's always at home so what's the use of using them? If only there were times that she could use or try all of it, she wouldn't be that ignorant in fashion as she is now.
But seeing the girls now...perhaps this is the right opportunity to try them. Right, she can do that.
"Have you seen their classroom? God! They're so close to us!"
Before proceeding to their room, Cheska and Brittany stopped by at their locker only to leave their belongings.
As far as they know, there will be no classes for today since it's just the first day of the school year. This day was given to them to know each other and to familiarize the university's entire premises.
"Right! We're classmates! Let's sit beside each other huh?"
"I hope there's still a seat near the window…" she muttered to herself, ignoring Brittany.
Still at the doorway, she roamed her eyes around the classroom. Her eyes sparkled when she saw one vacant seat near the window. The seat is second to the last—not bad. She doesn't have poor eyesight so that will do.
She just hopes there will be no seating arrangement. But then she thought, isn't seating arrangement too boring for that peculiar university?
She chose that seat, the seat loves and she thinks that is waiting for her to come. There's no way for her not to love that seat.
During classes, there are some times when she finds it boring that she tends to do other things more interesting than dealing with the boredom. So, if she finds one of her classes boring, only she has to do is to look outside the window and appreciate—
Once again, her eyes shimmered in amazement. A garden not so far from her building charmed not just her eyes but her heart. It could enchant anyone's eyes by just taking a glance.
It's full of greens and reds. Even the birds are loving the place—she could see them flying over it.
"Wow…"
She turned her head to Brittany with a smile on her face. But it disappeared when she noticed some people behind her row.
She found five boys minding their own businesses. Something is strange and intimidating about them that could be felt by simply going near them. They're so serious as if they just had the worst morning ever.
She thought she had the worst morning today but those five proved her wrong.
She immediately averted her gaze when one of them looked at her.
"Pssst, let's go to the garden later…"
"Garden?" she looked outside the window from her seat. Even her eyes shimmered. "Sure! Let's take pictures too!"
When the bell rang, she closed her phone and looked around—it's almost only them and the boys behind her. She was about to leave her seat when someone walked beside her forcing her to go back to her seat.
When she looked up, it's the boys in the back row. They're still walking, completely ignoring the stares and attention they're receiving. Even if someone went in front of them, they won't stop walking.
She only came back to her senses when Brittany grabbed her wrist. She thought she's as excited as her but she's only in rush because of the sun.
Since it's still morning, the rays from the sun are still harmless and healthy. She cares for her skin since she put so much effort to turn it into fair while she's in Japan.
She even thanked the country for its pleasing weather that she managed to possess fair skin without trying that hard.
They're running in the hallway freely when someone bumped Cheska to her shoulder. The hard-hit because of the strong impact made her groaned.
Her brows furrowed and see who did it. She's expecting him to apologize even if they're the one who's running. If he saw her—which no doubt that he did—he should have at least avoid them to avoid the impact.
"It's forbidden to run at the hallways," he said strictly.
The voice is scary enough to make anyone bow their heads and just admit their mistakes but Cheska didn't even shake. She's still looking at him.
For unknown reasons, she can't look away.
"Hm...?" there's a hint of dubiety in his voice. His brows slightly knitted. "Are you…a new student?"
And that's when she finally looked away. "Yes…I'm sorry if I was…staring."
"Running at the hallways is forbidden."
"Then you should have at least put something or a sign." her mouth gaped, she just realized her comment. "I'm…sorry again. I was just—"
"It's fine. You're new. Just be careful next time," he said. "And I see no reasons to put signs because the students here are old enough not to run along the hallways. Looks like there are still some who do that."
She bit her lips in embarrassment. She really hates it when she's being scolded.
Not to mention, they're gaining a little attention from other students, all of them are wondering what could be the reason for their talk.
"Talk about recklessness…"
She sighed sharply. Why is everyone doesn't know how to whisper properly? She can always hear all of them.
Does she have a strong hearing ability or...they just simply don't know how to whisper?
Later on, she found the guy in front of her lending his hand. She only stared at it. "Where are my manners? You're a new student. I should have introduced myself first. My name is Christian James Lee."
"Lee..." her head tilted to one side, brows are knitted. She looked in a different direction, still thinking deeply. "Lee university…"
The guy named Christian scoffed softly with a smile, amused. "I am the president of this university."
He feels like he has to say it right away. There's no way that isn't what she's thinking. That's always the question of the students on their minds once he spoke his name. It always gives them a curiosity.
"You can call me Cj. There's no need for formality. I'm also a student here."
