Darkness.
Qwen sat up and only could see pitched black darkness all around him and groaned. He hated these kinds of moments. He looked around in the darkness.
He was in a massive empty space. He could breathe and feel the ground beneath himself but that was it. Suddenly a a ringing voice appears from the darkness.
"Welcome! To claim the tower drop your blood on the tower floor."
Qwen shrugged and tried to cut his hand with a blade made of ice but the blade had snapped when he applied pressure to it.
"What the? It looks like my body is too tough."
Qwen sighed and painfully bit his to he until he drew blood and spit it out on the ground.
The tower shook before bursting into a blinding light startling Qwen.
When Qwen's vision returned to him he was standing in an beautiful ancient courtyard surrounded by rows of strange vegetation that didn't on earth. There were various other buildings with strange symbols on them. All were different sizes. strange vegetation.
A bright light shone and a middle aged man with a long beard appeared. He wore a white and black robe
"Welcome to the 'Heavenly Golden Pagoda tower.' You are the sole owner of this Ancient tower.' I am called Elder. I have billions of cultivation knowledge and resources to assist you on your cultivation journey. I can guide you through the Xu Continent to defeat any cultivators that you come across. Now! We'll begin your training in the nature spring in Shotu! You'll have to climb Dragon Nova mountain and then-"
"Wait! What the hell are you talking about? None of those places exist on Earth."
The aged man instantly felt annoyed.
"I don't know what kind of tricks you are playing but that surely are not funny!"
"No jokes here, Ancestor. This is planet Earth. I won this tower from the System Roulette."
"What? So this is not the Firmament World? That explains how I was able to escape the 'Abyss' Void' between the dimentional without help."
The ghastly figure of the ancestor was at a loss for words. I sent a pulse outside of the tower.
"I'M AM NOT EVEN IN MY OWN PLANE! So....then how am I bound to you?"
It looked at Qwen suspiciously.
"Well, I don't know. I won you in a roulette and now your here. This is Earth. I don't know anything about any 'plane' but you're here now so we need to make the best of it."
The ancestor had an annoyed look on his face that turned to fury which made Qwen flinch.
"Make the best of it you say. How are you supposed to advance to immortality without any spirit energy?"
Qwen looked on confused.
"What do you mean no spirit energy? Earth has it. Its everywhere."
The ancestor huffed.
"I'll che-"
The ancestors eyes went wide.
"By the Heavenly Dao! What is this! An entire planet of pure spiritual enery! It hasn't been touched in so long! It's in abundance everywhere..."
The ancestor spirit rambled on for long minutes. Citing things Qwen never heard of. Qwen cleared his throat to break the spirit our of its stupor.
"Oh...yes. *cough* The weakling. So, I need to test you. Come stand near me. Hmm... The fact that you achieved Chi gathering stage on your own shows that you have some talent. You have obtained a very powerful cultivation technique. I'm assuming you obtained that through the same thing that brought me here? Now let free your mind so that I can read your thoughts."
Qwen didn't see any harm since the tower pendant couldn't hurt him and opened up his mind and the ancester placed his hand on Qwens head.
The ancestor gasped in looked in shock then horror. Its eyes rolled back into its skull and it began to spasm violently. This continued for a long while.
Qwen patiently waited for the results. He wasn't worried about the ancestor because he hardly knew him. However, he needed it to show him the functions of this tower so Qwen hoped it wouldn't be broken after this.
Eventually, the spirit slowly calmed and he released his grip from Qwens head with effort.
"So....so much. It was so much information. It let me in but I was forced to integrate with it. Its, something I can't describe but, its eventually will spread into the entire universe. I also learned that your planet is in grave danger.
I've seen what happened to you and we don't have much time. All isn't lost weakling. You have the most powerful cultivator to ever exist before I was banished!"
The ancestor had a look on its face as though it expected to be praised by Qwen. Qwen smirked before replying.
"If you were so great, then why were you banished in the first place? So, pretty not powerful to me...Elder."
The Elder had a furious look on his face.
"You damn ant you dare! In my prime I could kill you without a thought! I was betrayed. While making a breakthrough beyond even the Heavenly plane but those that I trusted bound me with a prison array and banished me to the void.
If not for this tower, I would have lost myself long ago. Nothing could stop me which is why those bugs had to use underhanded methods to stop me. Now this system transported me to you and now I'm here."
"Okay..Okay calm down old man." Qwen held up his hands to placate the spirits fury.
"My name is Elder!" The spirit snapped back.
"Okay..Elder. Now that you understand what's happening how can you help. If your no use to me right now I need to leave. I have a of work to do and little time as you now know."
"You pea brained ant! I'm your greats hope so you better show some damned respect. The system said I had to help you but it didn't say how much. Hehehe."
Qwen obviously saw this and knew that wouldn't works so he had to back down.
"Hahaha. Ok sorry, I'll stop being ungrateful. So tell me what this new tower can do!
-------------‐------------------------------------------------
The twins Lisa and Jasmine had waited for Qwen for hours but he never returned. They were panicked until the still saw his name in their 'party' tab.
"When is he gonna come out Lisa? I'm worried out of my mind."
Lisa stared at Jasmine softening her stern face. Jasmine was the only one who usually got to see her vulnerable but that was before they met Qwen. He was weird and didnt have a lot of personality but he could be trusted and he was fearless.
"Its okay sis. Stop acting weak. No matter what we survive. Qwen is strong so he will survive. Let's get out of here and wait for him at the hotel. I'm sure he'll go back there once hes out."
She looked at the bottom of the tower and turned her head. They both saw Qwen under the tower when it landed. The only hope they still had was that the tower came from off of his neck and it might be a skill or something.
She grabbed Jasmines wrist and nodded. Reluctantly, Jasmine accepted the notification and transported out of the dungeon. Lisa looked back one last time before doing the same.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Two successive flashes of light shone infront of the dull hum the portal as the twins appeared.
It was night time in the forest and the bright lights of the full moon shone through the cracks of the thick tree tops. All was calm, as the wind blew with the sent of the forest riding along with it. The night time insects buzzed and animal sounds filled the forest.
All was calm, except for the sounds of boot?
Suddenly the forest lit up with blinding lights as hundreds of men rushed infront of the twins with high powered rifles and .50 cal mounted weapons on the top of Humvees. Some of the men even carried rocket launchers. Red beams lit up the night.
Lisa thought about using her bow but Jasmine stopped her and shook her head. She just mouthed wait for Qwen. Lias frowned at this but didn't make a move.
Slowly a tall man with brown hair and asian eyes stepped out of the darkness.
"We have been keeping a close eyes on you young ladies. Now, I wouldn't want to hurt a child but, don't for a second think that I give a shit. Boss wants you alive. Come with me completely or missing limbs, but you WILL come."
The tone in the mans voice sent a shiver down their spines. They wanted to run but didn't move. They were surrounded and didn't know what to do. They were still 15 year old girls.
Two men came behind the girls and put hand cuffs and blind folds over their head before putting them into separate humvees. The convoy sped off through the forest once again leaving the forest silent with their prizes in tow.
The brown haired man picked up his cell and dialed.
"Sir we have the girls. No signs of Valas though."
"Bring them to the warehouse near the docks."
"On my way sir."
Benard looked back at the blindfolded girl in the back seat.
'Boss is going through all this trouble for little girls.'
He was going to be paid handsomely when he delivered the girls but he didn't need them. He was strong enough to bring in Valas. He smiled to himself before summoning a ball of light that turned into a dagger.
If he didn't come willingly well then he would let him watch his own flesh be removed. He laughed a maniacal chuckle that made everyone inside the humvee uncomfortable but they all stayed silent. They know that Bernard was a murderous madman.
