The group until they reached a small town. They landed just out sides of it. The four with Qwen spirit blades turned into a beam of light that flew into their frontal lobes and dissapeared.
When they walked into the town it felt empty. There was people walk about. No cars on the road and all of the stores had closed signs hanging from the doors.
"Were are all the people?" Jasmine asked she looked around as though she were expecting an attack at any moment. All of them subconsciously formed a group a triangle formation around Lisa as they walked.
Qwen felt like the odd ball in the group. They all seemed to be able to fight well together. He was curious as to just was Elder had put them through.
"Good question. Let's find out."
He checked his phone and logged onto his social media account. His eyes went wide and he gasped at the news posts.
"You may all want to call your families."
Qwen even had messages from his brother Edward.
'Hey man pick up!!...Where are you I've been calling for weeks?....your company said that you hadn't been into the .....I put out a missing person's report but the police were acting strangely when I file the report, please call me so that I know your okay....'
Qwen was shocked. His brother hadn't tried to reach out to to him with this much in years. Yeah the occasional call on the holidays but never this much.
Qwen picked up and called his brother. Edward picked up the phone after the first ring.
"Qwen oh my god, finally! Are you okay where have you been? The whole world is practically looking for you. The government is calling you the savior of humanity. They are saying you have a way to best back the monsters!"
Qwen rolled his eyes and sighe in exasperation. He figured the government would try something like this but he didn't know what they'd do.
"I gotta admit little bro I'm really scared. I'm in Tampa now in one of the camps. It called camp Alpha. We have to remain until the 'breaks' ends."
"That's good. I'll....come see you as soon as I can okay?"
"That's ready good to hear that! I'll talk to you soon, it's chow time."
They disconnected the call with each other. Qwen looked around and everyone was still speaking to their families. Their faces changed as information about what was going on was revealed to them.
The Twins were on speakerphone getting an earful from their aunt. Shizomi and Ryu were speaking to their families and telling them they were okay, better in fact.
While they we all still busy he continued to check his phone. He scanned the new bill sign by the world leaders. He was even drafted. His name was on the list of a national database. It just so happened thr names Ryu, Shizomi, Lisa, and Jasmine were right after his own.
He neede to find out what the government was up to. There were three dungeons that had powerful enemies and the System users werent strong enough. Although that was quickly changing. The status on the crypt was improving. A team had finally made it to the boss monster the same day they left the tower. Currently, the results of the battle were unknown. The group was able to rely that the dungeon boss was a Level 16 death knight before the video feed cut out. The status of the group was currently unknown.
Well since Qwen had questions he'd go to the source. First, he'd would handle the unconquered dungeons. Why not capitalize on the free experience points?
He had to take 2 dungeons in three days. After thinking for a few minutes he decided on how to approach the situation. Would have to split up his teammates Ryu was strong enough to take out the crypt alone. The trio Shizomi, Jamsmine, and Lisa would take the minotaur. He would take the vampire lair since it was the most difficult on dungeon on the planet.
Qwen was level 21 by the system's standards. This was an upper F ranked dungeon. The base level to the monsters were from 12 or 18. Qwen learned that bosses levels are usually much higher.
His base level was 21 currently All of his base attribute points more than doubled including his wisdom and intelligence attibutes.
Also after becoming a 'Spirit Cultivator' All of his physical were now multiplied by 10 when he unleashed all of his spirit energy. As a spirit cultivator your spirit energy fused with your soul and was almost always active. His senses could detect presences out thousands of miles away.
Qwen got an idea. He summoned his red and gold palace. With the arrays in place, it floated in the air over the tiny town. Qwen summoned a fog and cloud cover to mask the large structure from government satellites. Then he flew up to the massive golden gates which opened up as he flew closer and he stepped inside.
Once inside he arrived in front of a hanger. It seems he could control where arrived once inside of the palace. Qwen remembered there were spirit vehicles from Elders plane.
He walked inside of the large building and into an open warehouse type area. When he scanned the room he could only smile with excitement.
"My own airforce. I have the power of a small country hahaha! I can take over the world. Mwah hahaha!"
Qwen did his best evil genius laugh. He let his imagination wonder in what he could do with these ships.
Inside he had a small fleet of vehicles lined neatly next to each other. The 55 aircraft were vertically oval shaped with short round wings on the side. They had a plain looking design but yet you could sense they were more then meets the eye.
The metal was as clear as glass and you could easily see your reflection in it. The vehicle naturally hovered off of the ground a few feet on its own. There were two seats in each vehicle. With extra cargo space in the back. On the front of the vehicle were two holes that he assumed fired projectiles.
He walked near one of the aircraft and a ramp was let down in the back of the craft. Inside was very spacious and obviously used void spiritual energy to create it. From the outside the vehicle only looks like it can hold a few people at most and some cargo. It was the size of a small home in the cargo area. There were seats and amenities inside.
Qwen ignored all of these for now and excitedly went into the cockpit. Inside there were only two chair and nothing else. When he walked in he expected to see buttons, panels, and some kind of steering device but here there was nothing.
Somewhat disappointed Qwen grumpily sat in one of the chairs. He felt a tug at his spirit energy in his body and the ship came to life. He screamed and covered his face. Suddenly two bright lights shot out of the ship and impacted the hanger wall. The entire wall exploded outward taking with it the adjacent 3 building s with it and leaving a long path of destruction as far as he could see.
"So, I tried to protect myself and the ship fired a megaton powerful lazer. Hmm. So what if I want it to rise up?"
The ship had a faint hum as it slowly lifted off of the ground.
"I'm able to control these things with my mind! It scans your spirit energy and actives itself once you sit in the chairs."
Qwen summoned all of them into his systems storage space. He flew out of the hanger then out of the palace entirely.
By now the group were off their phones and were chatting and trained their martial arts while they waited.
Lisa smirked when she saw Qwen again.
"Hey Boss where ya been. Need some ALONE time with yourself and your pants? Ah hahaha!"
Jasmine walk over and slapped Lisa in the back her head.
"Sorry Boss!" She said as she held in her laughter.
Qwen was laughing too. He had to admit they were growing on him even more.
Ryu spoke up next. He had a panicked look on his normally stoic face.
"Everything we know has changed! In only two weeks, we are drafted into some kind of army. I've seen the World War documentaries. Nothing feels stable. Monsters are about to have a buffet on the planet and we are all on the damn menu. This is all becoming too much! I don't want to join any army! Besides how do we reach different countries and conquer dungeons in only 50 hours?"
Qwen looked at all his people one by one.
"Do you all trust me?"
They all hesitated for a moment before nodding.
"Good because I need people I can always trust. Ryu your still thinking in normal human terms. Not who you are now. You are a level 8 System user and a cultivator at the late chi gathering stage. You are currently as strong as or stronger than I was when we first met. Not to mention what you've learned from Elder.
You're all that stands between you family and monster jaws. We don't have time to be afraid and doubtful. Besides, who's going to help me fly these bad boys?"
Qwen waved his hands and 5 ships appeared behind line up in a row.
"I call them cloud skimmers."
Qwen said with a pose as though he invented the aircraft himself.
He spent the next hour showing them how to operate the ships. They hurriedly and tested them out on their own.
After testing the planes Qwen estimated they could fly 1,300 mile per hour. The Cloud Skimmers can reach anywhere in the planet in a matter of hours. In the same country, it would take minutes.
It was powered by the users spirit energy but the drain on the body wasn't too bad and you could simply rest to restore spirit energy you were below the spirit cultivator stage.
For Qwen he could use it for days nonstop.
During his time showing his team how to use the Cloud Skimmers he also relayed his plan to them. They all accepted without question now that they had their own ships.
Qwen had to toss them a carrot every now and then to make sure they did what he wanted.
"Okay gang you know the plan. Take over the dungeons and bring the core to me and Elder."
When he mentioned Elder they all had a serious look on their faces as they nodded. Each person quickly jumped into their ship and sped off in different directions without looking back.
"Just what in the heck did that ghost do to them?"
Qwen shook his head and hopped into the aircraft. He GPS coordinates to Europe. The vampire lair was actually in the real life city of Transylvania..go figure. With a thought the ship quietly rose high into the cloud before exploding towards towards his destination.
