Twenty-Three

Two years would seem a long time to anyone, taken out of context. To me, however, the two years that had passed us by were nothing more than a haze. They were also routine. My days typically started early in the morning. I would help Agari-san around the shrine and, after breakfast with everyone that I had helped prepare, Terasaki-san and I would go to one of the unused halls in the building that housed our room for the training he had always been mentally preparing me for.

I had not known what to expect from the training or how it was going to be but it was an awful lot like any other training might have been. It started off with Terasaki-san explaining the fundamentals of the spirit- details of the basic stuff that I was already familiar with through first-hand experience. We then proceeded to meditation- something he still made me do occasionally. I wasn’t a huge fan of it though.
