Rescue Mission

"This is the place, you sure?" I whispered to Mia who was sitting beside me.

"Yes, this is the place Ascal marked on the map," she replied, her voice was also low as we were trying to stay hidden.

Both I and Mia were hiding in the bushes and front of us was the hide of the bandits we came here for. It was similar to the one I attacked before; a small fortress, the only difference being that there are more people here than before.

"Any idea on where they've kept the elves?" I asked.

"I'm not sure but they are probably in the basement, that's where they were kept in the previous hideout," said Mia.

Apparently, the basement was a favorable spot for these bandits to hide the kidnapped people.

"So what's the plan?" she asked.

I could take them all on my own but I'm not quite sure how much of my powers I should reveal to Mia. The main purpose I came here was to see if every bandit is equipped with guns or if their boss is the only one who has them.

As of now, I can't see any bandit with a gun so probably the latter part is true.

"I don't wanna waste much time so let's go directly," I replied.

What I wanted to find out was done so I just wanted to wrap this up quickly and a frontal attack was the best way to do it.

I used dimensional magic to access the pocket dimension, I pulled out my mask and wore it.

Well, whatever. Let's get this started.

Two people were keeping guard in front of the gate of a fortress while they kept chatting among themselves.

"Hey, who are you?" one of the guards shouted when he saw a girl walking toward the fortress.

The girl didn't reply and kept walking, seeing this; the guards went into a defensive posture and held their swords tightly.

"Now now, do you want to get killed miss?" the other guard said as he prepared himself to launch an attack.

"In this type of situation you should keep a check on your surroundings," someone said. As the guard heard his voice, a boy who had his face covered with a wooden mask appeared beside them; he was Haruto.

Before the guard could say anything he landed a punch in his abdomen and sent him flying at the other guard. They both crashed and fell to the ground while the guard who was sent flying went unconscious.

The other guard—unable to understand what just happened—pushed the now unconscious guard to the side and slowly stood up.

—KLUCH!

A sword stabbed him from behind; he was stabbed by the same girl who he had seen before. Blood dripped from his mouth before he took his last breath.

"You go find the elves, I'll take care of them," said Haruto as he stopped an arrow targeted at him. It was launched by a guard on the watchtower.

Even though the girl in front of him didn't seem satisfied with his decision, she nodded and accepted it. She was none other than Mia.

"Now," Haruto mumbled and turned toward the gate.

"[Fire control]" he said and held his right hand pointing at the gate.

Flames started collecting together in front of his hand before they formed a big fireball. Haruto moved his hand back and forth and threw the fireball at the gate.

—BOOM!

An explosion occurred as the fireball clashed with the gate and burned it to ashes.

Around 50 armed bandits came in sight when the gate burned down. Haruto quickly dashed toward Mia and held her hand; Mia surprised by this tried to question Haruto but before she could say anything the view after her eyes changed.

In an instant they were standing behind all the bandits, inside the fortress; this was Haruto using [Dimensional Step].

"Go find them," said Haruto.

Mia without wasting any more time went inside a hallway.

Now that she's gone I can focus on all of you, huh, but this is really a pain in ass. Can't I deal with all of them in one go?

Hey miss assistant, can you do something about this?

Permission granted.

As I granted the permission a magic circle appeared below the feet of every bandit standing there. The magic circles started spinning at great speeds; the bandits who were now panicking tried to move but they were frozen in their positions.

Suddenly white colored energy beams were blasted from the magic circles toward the sky covering the bandits in the process. When the beams disappeared there was nothing left of the bandits, not even ashes.

<Given task completed>

'Scary!' was the only thing that came to my mind.

Okay, I know this chapter was very short. Sorry for that. Today I had some personal stuff to take care of so I didn't get much time to write, I hope you can understand.
