"Why did you hit me?" He asked in a loud voice.

And then another punch landed on his head.

"It hurts!" he said.

You deserve this man; honestly, I am feeling good now. The healer girl then came forward to introduce herself, probably. It's better if you introduce yourself; I don't want to address you as 'healer girl'.

"I apologize for his bad behavior, my name is Mary and we are the students of the magic academy and we came here to collect materials for our exams," she said.

Hmm, she looks well behaved.

The girl who was about to get stabbed also came near me and introduced herself.

"Thank you for saving our lives, we are grateful to you. My name is Jessica and I am also a part of this party."

"Guy's food is ready," Jessica called us while she was done making the food for tonight.

This is the first night I am spending in this world, from what Mary told me; traveling from the great forest (the forest I defeated the goblins and those three went to collect materials is called the great forest) to the city usually takes one day.

But because of the goblins issue, we are running out of schedule so we will arrive at the city around tomorrow at noon.

Traveling at night is not safe (for them, not me) so we have set up a camp and decided to rest tonight.

Jessica was making stew for dinner and is now done with it. Ahh, eating food around a campfire is sure a thing straight from isekai stories.

We all gathered around the campfire to eat.

"Yum, Jessica this stew is really good. I've never eaten anything like this before" I said as I took a sip from the bowl.

"It's nothing that special, this is just a normal stew," said Jessica.

No, I am not lying; I am really eating something like this for the first time. My dinner and lunch used to be cup noodles because they were easy to make and tasted decent.

After eating they went to sleep but I was still sitting beside the campfire.

Why? Well, there are two reasons, first I am not that sleepy, and second; this is the first time I am experiencing a campfire.

We will reach the city tomorrow and then we will part ways, who knows when we will see each other again. It doesn't matter how we met but these people were my first—

"You are still awake?" A voice asked from behind, it was Zen. He came and sat next to me.

"Yeah," I replied in with a sigh. I don't want to talk with this arrogant person.

"To be honest, I wasn't able to sleep either," he said, his voice now normal.

"Huh, could it be that you act all high in front of those girls but you aren't able to sleep beside them? Hmm, am I right?" I asked, teasing him a little.

"Thank you," he said.

"Sometimes there are things you can't handle on your own, don't try to protect them and act tough. Those girls have potential; instead of protecting them if you work together, you will be able to handle things more smoothly. Anyway don't get depressed about what happened, look forward to the future," I said, yeah I stole this motivational speech from an anime.

I really don't have any idea why I give this speech; this was like an involuntary action. I just felt like I should say this so I did.

"I think you are right about that," he stood up and went towards the camp.

"And don't you dare try to make a move on those girls," he said to make the mood better.

"Yes Yes," I replied with a smile and he went to sleep.

I mistook him; he is a good person, a good comrade, a good friend.

A cold breeze hit the fire and it went off. I didn't want to light it again so I also went to sleep.

We woke up early in the morning and went off towards the city, and around noon we reached the city.
