Chapter 16 Got Your Back

Hector’s POV

"This is it!" Emma said in a cold voice. I froze. Did this woman just slap me? I touched the spot where she struck me. The slap was hard, leaving a palm mark on my skin. Rex was excited, "Wow! That's our girl! She's tough, huh?" But it was me who got slapped, not him. I looked at Emma, who stared back at me without fear. The air in the restaurant grew icy. Everyone held their breath, afraid to move, panic etched on their faces.

This was the typical reaction to me, Hector Saunders, the Alpha of The Blood Stone Pack, the largest pack in New York. People trembled with fear just hearing my name. Why was this woman so different? She seemed fearless. It was amusing.

I touched the corner of my mouth with the tip of my tongue and coldly asked her, "What was that for?"

"This is the reward I want for helping the Saunders Group!" Emma shrugged calmly.
