Chapter 6

 ~The Flirting~

Suspense filled the air, all eyes glued on Cove waiting for his response.

Mokee's heart wouldn't stop palpitating either, her legs literally grew jelly on the floor.

"I'll say..." He mumbles with this sentimental look on, giving them the disability to read what's going on in his mind.

"Let's take a break!" He drops the pen he was actually holding and stood up.

"It's too stuffy, I need some air" He says simply walking away leaving them all agape.

"That jerk...I should have known..." Mokee breathes out.

~RESTROOM~

Cove washed his palms then his face. He dabbled his face with his palms then look at himself in the mirror. Memories of earlier came to his head. The words she said. Strangely, how it hits him hard.

"What's with her really...?" He held his sudden accelerating heart.

"What's choice are you going to make? With just a word from you she can be made the female lead...or not" Orion says, joining him.

"Why would I make her the female lead, It's a NO for her" Cove replied getting a tissue.

"From what I saw earlier, she's not that bad. I'd give her a pass"Orion tried convincing.

"Man, you know what you problem is? You're too nice and you trust easily. And also, you get fooled easily. Look, you're already getting swayed by her just because she calls herself your fan" Cove stated.

"It feels good to meet a fan and her, she felt kinda special. How do I put it, I feel strangely attached to her" Orion smiles.

"Strangely attached you say. Better still seduced. I know women like her. They're dangerous you better be careful" Cove warns.

"How would you know that? Perhaps, have you dated her before?" Orion quizzed.

"I'm not crazy! Why would I date a shabby woman like her. I have standards" He snaps.

"Right. You'll never stoop so low to someone like her. But I do like her. She's interesting. And pretty also."

"I almost forgot you like tacky things"

"So, you won't act with her?" Orion asked.

"Not in a million years" Cove drops the tissue and goes out. Orion smiles.

"Director, what do you mean, I never consented to that?" Cove says with a frown.

"Cove, we've all discussed and we all come to a conclusion. Among all the auditionees today, she was the only one who could pass the message exactly the way we want" Director Mark said.

"Yes, we could see she has both the potential and talent. She'd be the perfect candidate for your partner" The Ass.director said also.

"I'm the main lead here. I should have a say in this don't you think? Talent or no talent, you don't really think I'll be okay acting with a no name actress?" Cove argued.

"You were once a no name actor also Cove, don't overreact" President Cody said.

"If you really want her then fine. I'm backing out" He stood up.

"Think about it again Cove. I can assure you it's the right thing" Director Mark says.

"There's nothing to think about. I'm leaving" Cove remains defiant.

"If you keep doing this, we'll have to give Orion the main lead, Would you be happy with that?" President Cody says stopping him.

"So, you'll choose that worthless actress over me? Try it, let's see who suffers it the most" Cove raved then march out angrily.

"I'll try to talk to him, he's just being stubborn" President Cody says.

~LATER AT NIGHT~

"So, how was it? Did they picked you? You got the role, didn't you?" Nana asked excitedly the moment Mokee got back home.

"As a psychologist, aren't you able to read a person's expression and tell what's wrong with them?" Mokee says.

"I stopped being a psychologist two years ago so cut the crab and fill me in. Wait! Don't tell me you didn't get it, after everything I did!" 

"What did you do? Did you slept with your ex to gain favor for me or what?" Mokee asked.

"Should I have done that? I only threatened him a bit" Nana bit her fingernail. Mokee sighs.

"Stop putting me in suspense already and spill it out. I'm so eager to know" Nana slap her shoulder.

"I didn't get the role!"Mokee announced.

"What!! Why!! I was positive you would." Nana asked.

"It was all because of that obnoxious freak...what an ill fate I have seriously!" Mokee laments. Nana sighs.

"What do we do now? You have no money, no job, have nothing but your stubbornness and debt! That's why I said to at least get a f**king man!" Nana lashed out at her.

"Why are you suddenly bringing a man into this?"

"If you have a man to support you , your life wouldn't be this pathetic! Hey,haven't any man approached you recently, the shaman talked shit about you having men hovering around you!"

"Don't you bring that scam into this. Men my foot" She hissed.

"But you really have no man approaching you recently?" Nana asked again.

"That...there is" She answered.

"Really??"

"Huh. A really annoyingly obnoxious one" Mokee says.

"Hmm, 90% of romance nowadays starts with hatred. I can see you're at the first stage" Nana nudges her jokingly.

"No way! I can never like him! He's a NO-NO! A BIG NO!!" Mokee says determined.

"Who is he for you to refuse him that much? Is he that bad?"

"He's annoying, rude, arrogant, narcissistic, obnoxious, irritating arghhh!!! He thinks he's all that. Is being handsome everything? Just because he has some money and got some popularity he thinks he's all that, that doesn't make him god!" Mokee raged out.

"The more you talk about someone the more you're likely to fall in love with the person. Who's he?"

"Cove. Cove Lee the actor"

"Ohh Cove Lee....wait! Cove Lee the actor?? Your former boss! The country's prince!! That freak??" Nana asked.

"You...sounds as if you know him more than I do"

"Of course who doesn't know that crazy buffon who only knows how to use and dumb ladies"

"Hey, you're being suspicious again. Have you two_"

"We dated once...two years ago" Nana revealed.

"What!!"

"It was when I lost my license then. I was so devastated you know. I met him at the club. He seems like the perfect guy. I deceived myself thinking he was really into me when he said he was. I gave him my all but...that shithead broke up with me during s£x!"

"What??" Mokee's eyes went large.

"We didn't had any quarrel of sort. We were doing just fine together, I was so in love with him but that bastard! He was only using me as a pawn of fun. We were having one of the most hottest s£x ever but that dog had to ruin it. He broke up with me as if it's nothing and abandoned me. Thinking about it still makes me furious seriously!that bad jerk..." Nana faces Mokee.

"Kiekie, you can never go for someone like him. You shouldn't" She said to her.

"Why would I when I'm not insane!"Mokee quickly says.

"I'll take your word for that. He's such a bad experience. I hope you meet a man better than him. A man who'll really love you, a man who completes you. Just seeing him makes you all excited. A man like that" Nana said getting her cheeks red.

"Hey, why are you all red? Have you really met a man like that??"Nana asked.

"Not exactly but..." She smiles.

"Gist me girl"

"There's this awesome guy I met recently also, I think he's just near perfect. He's makes me feel like woman strangely" Mokee confessed.

"And who might that be?" Nana wiggle her brows.

"Orion. Apparently he's friend with Cove"Mokee says.

"Hmm. I know him. Well, he does have a clean reputation. I hope he's good like you said cause those celebs are nothing near good."

"He's really nice. I know that"

"Ohhh...my friend is finally in love.." Nana teases her.

"No I'm not. It's just a little crush for now..." She replied shyly.

"You're in love I can see it in your f**king eyes! Kiekie is in loveee!!!"

"Stop it! You're making me shy" She covers her face.

"Come on girl, let me see that eyes full of love for Onion!"

"It's Orion..."

"Onion..."

"Orion! Stop it! Nana" She feigns annoyance.

"Alright alright. Your phone just beeped. Check it out" Nana said to her. Mokee gave her a glare then pick her phone checking the message. 

The moment she read the content her eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped.

"Why? What is it?" Nana asked.

"Rowena" Mokee called 

"Yes?"Nana replied.

"I've just been offered a role in ROMANCE AT DAWN as the supporting casssttt!!!" She announced excitedly while Nana sprang up.

"Really?"

"Really!"

"Really really??"

"Really! Really! Really!! Really!!!" Mokee jumps up in joy while Nana screams in joy also.

"You made it!!"

"I made it!!!"

"We made it!!!"

~CLUB~

"HOOOOO!!!!!"

"YEAH!!!!"

"OH YEAH!!!!"

Nana and Mokee bounced, jumped and whine their body crazily to the music going on in the club.

A bottle of drink could be seen in Mokee's hand as she dances, she also takes gulp from the bottle.

On realizing the drink has finished, she decided to get another from the bar and on her way there Cove who was sitting at his normal spot, saw her.

"Monkey?"He mutters standing up to meet her.

"Way to go. Way to go! You're doing absolutely well" He claps on getting to her.

"Oh! It's the obnoxious guy again" Mokee mutters, staggering on her feet.

"Obnoxious? Did you just call me obnoxious??"Cove asked pissed.

"Mr actor, can you go your way. I'm really having a lot of fun right now. I don't need you to ruin it for me. Don't be a kill joy and just scram!" She shoo him away and made to leave but he grab her back.

"I'm sure you didn't get the role,what's making you so happy?"

"I'm happy that I don't have to be a partner to an annoying jerk like you! Why!!" She shot at his face.

"You...you don't have the right, calibre or anything to act with me to begin with. You should know your place, who do you think you are. Hey I'm a B_list actor, would it make sense to act with a low level unknown actress like you? You'll be only a stain to my reputation" He said to her getting her agitated.

"That's harsh" She said.

"Hey Dung! The world is harsh on its own. Tell me if I'm wrong, you acting with me is a harsh on its own. It's degrading my level and looking down on me as a Top star!"

"Are you God? Why can't I act with you? Are you that great!"

"Yes I'm that great! What about you? Are you great in any level to act a movie with me? What are you? Who are you?? Suzy Bae or Park shin_hye! If you're not near anywhere their standards then don't even dream of it! You should know your place" He said hurting her feelings. Mokee scoffs.

"You think I wanna act with you also? Yes I'm not any of those actresses you mentioned but I can be like them. I can be like them also! I'm just starting so you don't need to compare me with them! There's no comparison between the sun and the moon, they both shine when it's their time. That's their time and mine is just starting!"

"That's what losers like you say to comfort yourself! No matter what you say or do, the fact that you're a loser,remains the same" He says back but to his surprise, Mokee pours the drink in her hand on him.

"I refuse to be hurt by any words coming out of your mouth. Don't follow me asshole!" She glared and walked out.

"That b*tch..." He went after her.

"Hey Mon_" He held back her hand.

"What!" She flings his hand away.

"Are you stalking me? What's your intention! Do you really like me or are you just that ill mannered!"

"Who are you to talk rudely to me like that!"

"Mr Top star, I'm really really in a happy mood today, so please don't ruin it I'm begging you. If you're really interested in me then I'm sorry I'll have to reject you okay?"

"What a crock of shit! Are you perhaps sick?"He asked.

"Yes I'm sick! Sick of you! Sick of seeing your disgusting face!!" She held his hand.

"Hey, do you know how expensive my hand is? How dare you hold it!" He whipped it away.

"You keep going on about me liking you or not for a while now, are you sure you don't have Erotomania?"

"What...what??"

"You know that mental illness, the psychological disorder that makes one believe a famous person is in love with them. Do you perhaps have that? Is that why you're acting out of control everytime you're with me?" He asks.

Mokee couldn't help scoffing.

"Wow...wow...what a total freak! Wow...he's a freak...he's...wow..." She just keep saying walking away from him.

Cove stood on his spot tucking his hands in his pocket. He didn't bother going after her anymore.

"Is that it? I was right after all...she likes me. She does...that monkey..." He shook his head but suddenly she came back.

"Just for the record, read my lips..I " She pointed to herself.

"Hate" She grits.

"You!" She pointed to him, glares and walk away.

"What nonsense, I'm immune to hatred. No woman can hate me..." He smirks proudly.

~DAYS LATER. ( TABLE READING )~

"Hello, everyone. I'm happy we're all here today for this wonderful movie we're about to make. Without wasting any of our time, I'm going to step back for us to introduce ourselves before going into today's script reading. I'm Mark park, the director for the movie " ROMANCE AT DAWN" " The Director said and they all clap.

"I'm Cove Lee, playing the role Ron, the main male lead"Cove says and all clap.

"I'm Jemma Choi, playing the role Nari, the main female lead" A beautiful lady said seated next to Cove, She turns out to be the lady who slapped Mokee at the audition, once again they all clapped.

"I'm Orion Kang, playing the role Hwan, supporting role" Orion smiles, all clap.

"I am Mokee Jung, playing Dal, Supporting role" She says cheerfully while all clap except Cove and Jemma.

"Now, should we start reading?" The director said and they all opens their scripts.

"I'm new to this village, will you like to take me around?" Jemma read first.

"Why should we? I don't know about him but I don't like your eyes, I've met many women but this is the first time I'll dislike a lady at first sight. You must be bad luck" Cove read next.

"I don't like your eyes either, and I was talking to him not you" Jemma read again.

"We were going somewhere before we met you, if you may excuse us lady, we would take our leave now" Cove read also.

"I hope we see each other again Lady, then I promise to show you round the village" Orion read this time.

~LATER~

"Don't think you're all that now, just because you've been given a little role to play" Cove said to Mokee as they got outside.

"Mind your business. It's a little role to you but to me,it's my everything" Mokee replied.

"Figures. Little things like that are worth more than anything to lowlife like you"Cove commented.

"You...lack love, don't you?" Mokee asked. He furrows a brow.

"What?"

"You know you can't lack manners just because you weren't trained at home. You lack love that must be why you run your mouth anyhow" Mokee said.

"Hey Monkey_"

"I told you not to call me that. My name is Mokee not monkey"

"Monkey or whatnot, I call you whatever I want. Let me give you a warning, buckle down cause I'm not gonna go easy on you"

"I worked so hard to get to where I am right now. Do you think your empty threats can scare me away."

"You guys should stop now"Orion said approaching them. Mokee quickly dresses her hair well.

"You'd be seeing each other more often, you should learn how to tolerate each other" He said on getting to them.

"Tolerate? We'd see about that" Cove said and moves closer to Mokee.

"So you know, I hate you more than you do" He nudges her with his shoulder taking his leave.

"That freak..." Mokee mumbles.

"That guy must have had his manners cut off along his umbilical cord, Mokee I apologize on his behalf" Orion says.

"You don't need to Orion. I'm just glad you're very much different from him. It'll be good if he could have at least half of your character" Mokee smiles.

"Well, we can never say. Mind if I drop you home?" He asked.

"No, I can ju_"

"I wanna spend more time with you. I think your company is kinda fun, can I have the honor?" He asked politely making her cheeks go red.

"Oh, well...if you insist..." She says shyly, grinning ear to ear.

"I guess you blushes easily, or does it happens only when you're with me?" He asked making her touch her cheeks.

"Ah, I...I'm rosacea, I turn red all the time" She says, Orion couldn't help but chuckles.

"I think it's cute. This way please..." He began walking towards his car while Mokee only squeals like a rabbit where she is.

"You matter what kind of a monster you become, you'll always remain dear to me. You'll always be part of my heart...don't forget that...don't_"

"What are you doing?" Nana sits beside Mokee eating chips.

"Practicing lines" Mokee replies.

"Is that your line, that sad pathetic words?"Nana asked.

"No, it's Nari's words, the female lead. But isn't it cool? Ugh! I wish I was the female lead, I'm confident I can nail it well...strangely I can relate to her feelings" Mokee said.

"Cut the bullshit. What's the story all about?"Nana asked.

"It's about two siblings and two friends. A love triangle, or should I say square?"

"All drama are like that. Two guys fighting over a girl and an evil girl in the background who likes one of the guys. In the end the girl ends up suffering for their foolishness"Nana says.

"Ohh, you sound like a professional just now"Mokee tease.

"I am a professional" She flaunts her hair proudly.

Mokee chuckles.

"But Kiekie, I saw something earlier" Nana says.

"What?"

"You and that Onion of a guy, are you two having something going on? You two spent quite a while in the car flirting?" Nana teases.

"Who's flirting...go away" 

"Whatever it may be, just be careful. I won't forgive him if he dares breaks my dear friend's heart. Warn him" Nana said before standing and leaving.

"Whatever..." Mokee rolled her eyes. She was about going back to her script reading when her phone buzzed. Taking it, she check it out only to find a text message from Orion.

"Just got home, what are you doing??" The text says.

Mokee chuckles and began typing.

" Practicing my lines, it still feels like a dream, I'm actually doing this" She texts back.

" If it's a dream then it's a perfect one, cause you've got me, the perfect guy to accompany you in it" He texts and on reading it, her cheeks grew red.

"You just blushed right?" He texts again.

"No, I didn't" She texts back and the next thing, her phone started ringing. It was a video call from him.

"OH! MY GOSH!!" She gasp, cleaning her face immediately. She dresses her hair well and picked it up, His face comes from the phone. He had a bandanna over his head sweeping his hair back, and he was only in a tank top, sitting on the bed, looking damn hot.

"I caught you. You did blushed" He says and there again, her cheeks turns red more.
