Chapter-14

"what do you mean my army is defeated by a warrior!?"

There is a wailing sound of someone shouting angrily in the room.

In the middle of the room stands a woman wearing very expensive clothing. She is the sole Queen of the Alis Empire, Queen Cordelia.

The queen is furious as she paces back and forth in front of her throne. On top of her hair is a shiny crown and on her neck, there are several jewels of different stones. Each of them glistens with the sunlight.

Her maidservants also stand beside her in silence. One of the maidservants tried her best to calm her anger.

"My Queen, we tried our best. We fought every soldier, every ally and enemy. It's just that the only one warrior was really powerful, we didn't have the slightest chance of defeating him. Please calm down..."

The queen stops pacing. Her maidservant continued saying whatever she was thinking in her mind.

"What's done is done. We cannot change anything. If that the warrior is too powerful then why don't we get rid of him first"

"Yes, My Majesty," says the maidservant.

"Well, losing only a few warriors doesn't mean we lost the battle," The Queen started laughing evilly.

Queen Cordelia is famous for her cruelty. She is the type of person who will sacrifice everything to get what she wants. And also she is famous for using necromancy.

She loves to torture her subjects. Torture is something she does best, especially if someone opposes her will.

If someone opposes her, she has no qualms about destroying them. She likes to play with her prey's emotions and then torture them for days and days until they're begging her for mercy, which she gladly takes.

"So I ask you all again... what are we going to do!?" asked Queen Cordelia. Her expression suddenly changed into fierce.

Everyone stayed quiet for some time before the queen spoke up again.

"Find him and bring him to me dead or alive immediately! Now get out all of you!" she demanded.

"Yes, My Queen" replied everyone.

They all bowed and left. The queen was still smiling evilly when the last one was out of the door.

"What an interesting man," she said to herself. "A man without any power, but very good with swords." Then her smile disappeared quickly "And that ant killed my whole damn army!?" her anger burst out as she speaks, "Nonsense"

And then she started laughing. The Queen has unique features: She's very beautiful, very elegant, extremely smart, and intelligent.

But unfortunately, this intelligence comes at the cost of being overly arrogant. As far as anyone knows, she isn't the kind of person who will give up easily.

She's the kind of person who will fight, kill, and destroy anything in her way.

At that very moment, a man walked into the room with his face covered.

"ha, welcome my favorite ugly crow" The Queen greeted as soon as she saw the man.

She loved mocking her servants and soldiers. It was a way to make her feel better after having a terrible day.

"Why aren't you dead yet?" The Queen continued.

"My Queen, I'm here to apologize" the man kneel immediately.

The Queen didn't seem angry but she started controlling the man without moving a single finger.

Cordelia is smiling softly as she stares into the man's deepest soul.

The man started screaming with pain and even removed his face covers.

"Please...make this stop, I will do anything for you" The man started begging and pleading.

Cordelia finally released him and the man started choking blood as soon as she stopped controlling him.

"You told me that I will definitely be able to defeat that stupid empire if I attack them on the wedding day, now look at what you've done. I lost my whole army what a shame"

"I'm very sorry, my Queen. I underestimate that young duke, who defeated your whole army"

"You think you can just get away with such a lame excuse? " the queen laughed "You're nothing without my help. Don't tell me you thought you'd never be able to defeat that weak ant?"

The man remained silent. His eyes were filled with tears of terror.

"Oh come on, Namen, I raised you and I let you enjoy every wealth of life. Why can't you just do me this favor" The Queen said in frustration while grabbing the poor guy by his head.

She pushed him hard against the wall as she held his chin firmly with her free hand.

"This little ant would love to hear your words. Tell him, what a failure you are!" she shouted.

The man kept silent.

"Do you even remember how I picked you up from the trash and made you who you are today? I can't regret anything more than that"

"But, my Queen, the one who defeated everyone isn't an ordinary person...I can sense pure magic around him"

The woman released the man from her grip and stood up. She smiled once again.

"What makes you so certain that he is stronger than my army? Do you see a difference between magic and necromancy?

"No, My Queen, but I know he is more powerful than everyone else here... I could sense it the moment I met him"

The queen ponders for a moment then looks directly into his eye.

"Very well. I shall allow you to live for now" the Queen said. "I'll find a way to punish that useless when we have him captured." She said calmly.

The man couldn't help but nod. He knew it better not to ask questions.

"Good, get out of here before I change my mind. You don't want your skull to become one of those candlesticks I used " she added.

He nodded once again. He got up and went away silently.

Queen Cordelia is hundreds of years old although she looks like a 20 years old beauty. Her wish is to rule the whole world including heaven and hell.

She picked up Namen and raised him as a spy for Cosmos Kingdom. She supported him with wealth to earn the King's trust so that she could colonize Cosmos easily.

But now her life-long plan was ruined by a young duke. Cordelia is more interested in Cyril than angry.

After Namen had left, Cordelia went to a dark room and started saying some spells. After a few moments, her army, defeated by Cyril was alive once again.

To be continued...
