Beginning of the end

Her eyes were so red and swollen, they could no longer produce tears. She rolled over again and again, covering her ears. The phone would not stop ringing, yet she was afraid to unplug it. So she answered it, knowing it would a different version of the last twenty five times she had answered it.

'Hello', she answered, her voice weak and hoarse. 'You fucking bitch!' was the reply. 'If you hang up on me again, I'll break the goddamn door down!'

Why was he doing this, she wasn't the one who lied and cheated for months, with a teenager no less. In reality she knew why. He thought she would always take him back, no matter what.
