3 Chapter 3 Meteorite Falling, the Omen of Doomsday

"It's all right. This time is different. I have an incomparably safe refuge!"

Jack reminded himself while driving.

Jack's refuge was built in the suburb, it was a little far from the city.

It would take him another ten minutes to get there.

To kill time, Jack turned on the radio and switched to the news channel.

"This is an urgent message. According to the latest observations of NASA, the activity inside the sun is very unusual. According to the analysis of experts inside NASA, there will be solar flares, which will affect the earth. We suggest the public should try their best to reduce direct contact with the sun in the next few days."

"The latest news, an earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale has just occurred in the southern part of Argentina."

"According to a temporary announcement, Super typhoon 'Seagull' has arrived in the Philippines, where it is suffering from torrential rains and high winds. So far, 34 people have been killed and 105 are missing."

"According to an anonymous letter from a scientist at the Ecological Research Institute, he said that many animals and plants are mutating in the United States, but the government is trying to cover it up."

Jack frowned when he heard the news.

Jack had heard the same news before, but he didn't take it seriously at that time.

But now it was different.

Jack knew that this was the omen of doomsday.

Then Jack slammed his foot on the gas and sped up.

He wanted to return to the refuge after replenishing the supplies as soon as possible.

A few minutes later, Jack arrived downtown.

At this time, in the doorway of each supermarket store, the crowd had been more than usual.

After hearing the news just now, some people were beginning to feel a little worried.

But after entering the supermarket, he found that there were still plenty of supplies.

Jack tried his best to choose all kinds of food and drinking water with a longer shelf life. He also bought some daily necessities until the truck was filled up.

Jack still had some money left.

He had to find a way to spend it, or it would be wasted after the end of the world.

Then Jack drove to a gun shop.

As soon as Jack entered the shop, he showed his gun license to the owner, so that he could buy weapons.

"What do you want?"

"With all this money, give me as many guns and bullets as you can."

Jack didn't want to waste time choosing, so he put all the cash on the desk.

The boss's eyes lit up. He quickly pulled guns and bullets from the shelf behind him.

There were two pistols, a submachine gun and an automatic rifle with magnification, and boxes of bullets.

"Okay, thank you, boss."

After the owner wrapped the guns in boxes, Jack loaded them directly into the truck.

Now Jack had run out of money and was ready to go back to his refuge in the suburbs.

However, Jack's truck hadn't even driven out of the block yet.

Suddenly, a strong white light burst out from the dark sky.

"What is that? Is it a UFO?"

"No! It's not a UFO. It seems to be a meteorite!"

"Oh, my God, is this meteorite flying towards us?"

"Run! This meteorite seems to fall towards us!"

Jack saw from the truck that the crowd on the street suddenly froze in their place, staring in amazement at the meteorite with its long flaming tail in the sky, coming towards them at an astonishing speed.

Jack was very familiar with this meteorite.

About an hour later, it would crash hundreds of kilometers away from here.

But the sheer force of the crash would destroy the entire city!

Soon, the crowd on the street began to run away in panic.

Jack quickly speeded up the truck to get out of there, otherwise, there would be a traffic jam.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Just as Jack drove away from the bustling block, a fierce gunshot suddenly rang out behind his truck.

Jack immediately looked at the rearview mirror and saw that someone was trying to rob a luxury shop, taking advantage of the chaos.

The end of the world hadn't arrived yet, but the human world had already begun to riot.

Jack continued to speed up to the suburb.

More than 20 minutes later, Jack finally returned to his refuge.

After carrying all the materials in the truck to the refuge, Jack closed the whole entrance.

From now on, he would always stay here.

Until he was sure that the outside world was safe.

But this refuge had everything in it.

A warm, bright environment, clean food and water, books, and video games would make Jack comfortable staying here.

But Jack was still worried.

Before he was reborn, the first day after the apocalypse, he was crushed to death by a sudden building collapse.

Therefore, he was not sure how many more terrifying things would happen after the apocalypse besides meteorites, earthquakes, tsunamis, and solar flares.

And he didn't know exactly how long his refuge could hold on.

Jack came to the control room.

There were some cameras on the ground, so he could see what was going on outside.

At this time, the other residents all stood outside the door and looked at the meteorite that had fallen sharply in the sky in surprise.

But they didn't know what else they could do except exclaim.

Some of them started to drive away.

Just then, the first wave of earthquake occurred!

Although Jack didn't feel anything inside the solid refuge, he could see clearly from the screen that the houses outside were shaking.

A huge crack suddenly appeared on the road. Several cars on the road fell directly into the crack. No one knew whether they were alive or dead.

"The doomsday is coming!"

Jack stared at the screen and murmured with a heavy look.

At this time, a familiar voice suddenly sounded in his mind.

"Ding! A new task has been released!"

"The first wave of doomsday will arrive in twelve hours. As long as you can resist the first wave of doom and survive an hour, you will get 5000 survival points!"
