6 Fierce Rivalry

(Suzune POV.)

If there's one person I hate in life, it's Ryujin Wan. He always carries that air of superiority and he has constantly defeated me. Now, I'm going to be his fiancée? Seriously?

This is the worst thing that could have happened to me. It feels like losing my mana would be a breeze compared to this. Okay, calm down, Suzune.

Now I have to go to the Blue Lotus Sect, and my mother told me to officially introduce myself as Ryujin's bride. Kenshin Wan will be there too. I'm dying of embarrassment after the humiliation I went through when I falsely accused Ryujin.

I should have double-checked the information, but as it turned out, my anger and desire to see Ryujin humiliated blinded me. It was a big mistake, and now I have to face the consequences of my actions.

I arrived at the Blue Lotus Sect bright and early, eager to get this over with as soon as possible.

"Hello, liar-san." Amanda, Ryujin's personal maid, greeted me with that ever-present mocking expression on her face.

"Tsk... Amanda, I came on business," I retorted, trying to hide my annoyance.

"I hope you're not here to falsely accuse Master Ryujin again."

"No, I didn't come for that. I came to announce something else," I replied, trying to keep my tone neutral.

"And what would that be? Are you finally retiring?" she said, her sarcasm hitting its peak.

"No... I'm getting engaged to Ryujin,"

I stated, watching with delight as her face turned into one of astonishment.

(A/N:Pedro only saw Suzune and Ryujin as engaged due to the memory of his old life, they were not engaged until now, her going to the Blue Lotus sect was just to introduce herself as a formal bride.

Well, her teasing Amanda was just a silly female rivalry.)

"What?" Amanda's reaction was priceless.

Seriously...

Even though the idea of marrying Ryujin is far from pleasant, witnessing Amanda's jealousy is absolutely hilarious. Hehehe.

"No... that's not... it can't be..." Amanda continued to be in disbelief at what was happening. Hehehe.

"Yes, Amanda-san, Alexia-sama personally accepted my mother's proposal, and well... now we are engaged."

Hehehe. It's clear that Amanda likes Ryujin, but that training freak probably didn't even notice. Since childhood, all he cared about was training and becoming stronger. I would almost feel sorry for Amanda if she wasn't so insufferable.

"Cancel it!" Amanda screamed, her frustration evident.

"Cancel what, Amanda-san?"

"The engagement! You hate Ryujin-sama. You won't make him happy!" she pleaded.

I really don't like Ryujin, but I can't just withdraw the engagement. After all, it was my mother's order. "And who would make him happy? You?"

"I..." Amanda blushed, caught off guard by my remark.

"Anyway, I can't withdraw the engagement. The families have already reached an agreement. Well... you can be Ryujin's mistress if I'm in a good mood..." I teased further, knowing it would rile her up.

"Your..." Amanda held back from hitting me. In terms of strength, even at my age, she is stronger than me, second only to Ryujin.

"Goodbye, Amanda-san. See you around. I hope you take good care of my children with Ryujin in the future." I winked playfully before leaving, leaving Amanda fuming in my wake. Hehehe.

(Amanda POV.)

That woman!

How dare she!

I am not...

I...

...

Damn it...

Why is this happening to me?

...

I've known Ryujin-sama since he was 3 years old.

I grew up with him.

At first, I didn't have any feelings for him, but as time went by, I started to fall in love with him.

I knew that my chances with him were slim, especially with Suzune in the picture.

Suzune is just an arrogant and conceited sect leader's daughter who hates Ryujin.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

I retreated to my room, unable to let Ryujin-sama see me in such a state.

***

"Damn it... Why is this happening to me? I've known Ryujin-sama since we were kids. I've seen him grow, and these feelings started to develop over time. But now, he's engaged to Suzune, and I feel so powerless. It's as if the world is playing a cruel joke on me."

I never expected Ryujin-sama and me to get married.

I never held such feelings in my heart. Just being close to him was enough for me.

I always followed him with a smile on my face, accompanying him during his crazy training sessions.

Damn it... that hurts. It stings to lose like this, not even having a chance... If only I were born into a stronger family, maybe then I could have a chance to marry Ryujin.

Knock knock.

Minutes after I entered my room, there was a knock on the door.

"Amanda Onee-san, what happened?"

Lexia's voice called out from the other side.

"Nothing, you can come in," I replied, trying to compose myself.

The door opened, and Lexia, my younger sister, entered. She had black hair and red eyes, just like me. Normally, she wouldn't live here as I was the only one hired as a maid. However, since our parents passed away, and she had no one else to stay with, Ryujin-sama insisted she stay until Kenshin-sama allowed her to live here.

I'm very grateful that Ryujin-sama let her stay in the sect.

"Seriously, Onee-san, what happened?"

"I already told you, nothing happened, Lexia!"

"I can't believe it... you know what... I'll ask Ryujin-sama!"

"No, don't bother Ryujin-sama."

"I knew it, it has something to do with Ryujin-sama, I know... he rejected you... poor heartbroken onee-san... I'll tell him about your qualities and he'll reconsider right away!"

"No... it's not that... Ryujin is engaged..."

"Oh... this is really serious..."
