My little brother kept poking her

Benny touches the smooth floor and looks at his finger. He narrows his eyes at the leprechaun. "Do you call this cleaning?"

"I never even cleaned my house." The Leprechaun snarls at him. 

"Clean everything again." Benny smacks his head with a thick book. "After that, make me some snacks. I am going to take some rest today."

*Ding Dong*

The Leprechaun could easily tell who is standing at the main door. He curses the blonde woman for the hundredth time in his head. If she hadn't seen him and screamed like a madwoman, he could have left before the ghoul came to the house.

"Who are you cursing?" Benny glares at him. "If he finds out that you are cursing him or anyone else close to him, he will chew your bones as midnight snacks."

The Leprechaun turns pale. He hurries out of the room. Benny shakes his head. He needs more time to train this Leprechaun. But why is this ghoul here at this time of night? 

The dwarf walks toward the door. He inserts the key in the lock and twists it. When he opens the door, he sees a haggard-looking ghoul. 

"Did you come back from a battle?" Benny scrutinises his face. Eli's hair and clothes are dishevelled. His eyes look tired. He is even a few shades paler. 

"Benny." Eli drops down on his knees and hugs the dwarf with tears in his eyes. "My wife kicked me out of the house." 

"That human?" Benny couldn't believe what he is hearing. 

"My beautiful wife is angry with me." Eli puts his head on the dwarf's shoulder and sobs. 

"But why are you here?" Benny couldn't figure out why he must be listening to this crap at the devil's hour of the night. 

"I didn't know where else to go. You are my only friend." Eli looks at him and blinks out the tears. "Benny, do you know how to reduce her anger?"

This annoying ghoul! It's already crazy enough that he's married to a human. Now, this ghoul even gets kicked out of the house. "Eat her alive. She won't be angry for long."

"Benny." Eli bangs his head on the wall. "You are not helping."

If this ghoul keeps banging his head on the wall, the wall would get the cracks. Benny grabs the back of Eli's collar. "Don't do that to my house. Just tell me what happened."

After listening to Eli, Benny feels like banging his head on the wall.

"She's angry because you didn't kiss her back." Benny massages his forehead. "Instead of telling her how beautiful she is, you told her that her mouth smells. Are you crazy?"

"I was only joking with her." Eli looks down at the floor with sad eyes.

"That was not bad enough." Benny puts his elbow on the desk. "You were so happy that you forgot to cook the meat and ate lamb's raw meat in front of her."

"I usually cook it a little." Eli curls himself in the fetal position on the couch and wraps his arms around his knees. "I forgot to do it tonight."

"How could you forget that?" What kind of human would not freak out after seeing someone eat raw meat? This ghoul just exposed himself to that human. It's no wonder that he got kicked out. Benny shakes his head. "She must have been shocked."

Eli raises his head and looks at him. "I was the one who got shocked when she pointed out that the blood is going to leave a stain on the table."

"..." What's going on? Benny doesn't know what to say.

"When I realised what I was eating, I didn't know what to say." Eli lowers his head. His voice is soft, confused, and fearful. "She didn't say anything at all."

Benny frowns at him. "She didn't say a word."

"Nothing at all." Eli's lips tremble. "I was so scared. I didn't know what to do."

"Then, what happened?" Benny asks him with anticipation. That human must have found it odd for sure.

"When I tried to explain, she told me that she already knew why I was eating raw meat." Eli stares at the ceiling like a dead man. 

"Why?" Benny leans closer to him.

"Because she already knows how much I love meat, it is not surprising to her that I would even eat it raw. She also told me that eating raw meat has many health benefits." Eli places his hand on his chest. "Benny, my wife is the rarest creature of the universe. There's no one like her. I am so lucky that I am married to her."

Benny slaps his forehead. He can't decide if the human is an utter fool or just a weird person. "I don't think that she's normal."

"She told me that she would salt the meat for me next time." Eli has a dreamy look on his face. "She is so perfect."

Why is he listening to this crap? Benny wants to choke someone to death. He just wants to eat and sleep right now. "But why did you get kicked out?" 

"I took her to the new apartment today." Eli lets out a heavy sigh. "I brought only a one-bedroom apartment because I wanted to sleep in the same bed with her."

Right! This ghoul had been looking for an apartment. He was quite choosy too. He wanted a house that was free of any negative energy. He wanted an apartment that was close to the hospital, but it had to allow the morning sunlight and fresh air. He even wanted a strong natural barrier around the house that repelled the dark energy. 

Houses with natural barriers are rare.

"She kicked you out because she didn't want to share it?"

"That's not what happened." Eli sits up and glances at him. "She was reluctant at first. Then, she let me sleep on the bed under the condition that I won't do anything to her but…"

"But?" Did this ghoul try to eat her in sleep? Did he eat a large chunk of her? Benny wonders if all of his hard work in the past week were in vain. What's the point of trying to save someone who was bound to become someone's food?

"My little brother kept poking her." Eli covers his face shyly. "When I felt her soft body in my arms and remembered how she kissed me at the hospital, my little brother became too excited and poked her."

"Your little brother?" His little sister was here a while ago. Now, it's his little brother. "Which one? You have too many brothers."

"Benny, you are an idiot." Eli points at his crotch with a helpless smile. "This one is always with me, isn't?"

It takes a long moment for Benny to realize what Eli means. 

"She got angry and kicked me out. She told me to not come back until my little brother calmed down." Eli yawns lazily. "I just want to hold her and sleep now."

"Just why are you here?" Benny fists his hand and slams the desk with his hand. The urge to kill this ghoul is quite strong. 

"I was taking a walk. I ended up walking all the way here." Eli says to him with a grave voice, "I have something to discuss with you."

He won't come here because he wants to drink tea with him. Benny flicks his finger and a shield rises around them, blocking all the voices from leaking. They can't trust the leprechaun or anyone else. 

"Can a human create a spirit from her soul?" Eli straightens his back and leans forward, resting his arms on his knees. 

What is he saying? Benny creases his forehead. "That's a high level of magic. It's not impossible to create a spirit from a soul, but it's dangerous and painful. Imagine breaking your limb by yourself and creating another living child out of it."

"I thought so." Eli nods. 

"But it is too difficult for a human."  Benny questions him, "Where did you see a human with a spirit?"

"Nell has one." 

That human? Why would she have one? Benny scratches his head. "How did she create one?"

"The spirit was born from a piece of her soul around nine years ago. I think that it was born due to the incident." Eli thinks of the cat. It keeps talking non-stop. It can pass through any object, disappear and appear at will, and see the hidden world without any problem. "She was forced to forget the incident. Had the council done it to her?"

"No, the council's report mentioned that she couldn't remember when she woke up." Benny looks at him thoughtfully. "It could be the Fae who forced her to forget."

"The Fae?" Eli raises his brow.

"If it's not the council, it would be the Fae. If it was done forcefully, her mind and soul might have been tremendously hurt. She must have created this spirit to protect herself. I am surprised that they didn't kill her back then. You told me that she already has some magic. It's rare, but some humans are born with strong magic," Benny explains to him. "I was interested in her. So, I looked into her lineage. She doesn't have magic from her biological mother's bloodline. Blessing and the magic come from her father's bloodline."

Her biological father has been missing for a long time. "Did you found her father?" 

"No, I didn't find him. But I know who he is." Benny crosses his arms and narrows his eyes. "I will charge extra."

"I have already paid. You can't go back on your words." Eli grins and slaps Benny's arm. "You know that you are the best. Tell me now."

This cheap stake ghoul! Benny grimaces at him. "There have been rumours. Someone else tried to find her father before. Guess who it was?"

"Nell?" Eli doesn't think that it could be her, but he couldn't think if anyone else either.

"No, it was Baek Joon-Woo."
