Chapter 11: People with Abilities

The group carried on with their discussion, and it seemed that no one took issue when the term 'other world' was brought up. It was apparent that everyone had come to terms with the fact that they were no longer on Earth.

No one understood this better than Amelia and Lucy. In the course of their examination of the local flora and fauna, they had quickly noticed that, despite some resemblances, the plants and insects were distinctly different from those on Earth. The fruits they found tasted more intense, as if they had been meticulously cultivated for enhanced flavor. But it was clear that there were no farmers tending these plants. Moreover, they noticed a surge of energy and immediate relief from fatigue after consuming these fruits, enabling them to cover more ground than an average person could. They continued to contemplate this while keenly listening to more information from Jake.

Rayana, on the other hand, remained quiet, taking in the information without rushing to share her thoughts.

Jake's voice wavered slightly as he continued, "I haven't seen all the murals on my side, but from what I've observed, it seems like the people without abilities were using those with abilities and waging wars. During these wars, the people with abilities didn't seem to harm the ordinary people." As he delved deeper into his explanation, Jake subconsciously began referring to them as 'people with abilities'.

"Could it be that they came here to wage their wars, ensuring the safety of ordinary people, and then returned?" Max Harrison, one of the bodyguards, interjected showing an incredulous expression. Max was the tallest among the bodyguards, a towering figure with a shaved head and a stern expression.

"No," Rayana suddenly spoke up. Everyone's attention turned to her, silently urging her to continue and substantiate her statement.

"They're crying."

Everyone leaned in, eager to hear more about what Rayana was trying to convey.

Rayana took a deep breath before forcing herself to elaborate on her theory based on the information they had gathered.

"There are murals near here too," Rayana gestured towards the wall behind her. She had already examined it and had formed some ideas about it. Everyone followed her gaze to the wall she pointed out where the people with abilities were depicted worshipping something before heading into battle.

"They are either worshipping their God, as you might presume, or something else. When you pray, you usually bow down, close your eyes, and pray. But these people kept their heads down while fighting in a war." Rayana paused to take a deep breath before she continued, "They have abilities. If I had them as well, why would I cry and be forced to be a used to fight a war I didn't want to be in?"

"And what about the mythical creatures?" Lucy asked, hoping to hear Rayana's thoughts on the matter.

"It's possible that they were brought here from Earth. We have stories of similar creatures in our fantasy books. If there's no connection, then we wouldn't be able to imagine something that already exists in a different place."

Noah looked hopeful as he chimed in, "So someone on Earth might know about this place?"

Rayana shook her head. "That might not be the case. Is everyone familiar with the Déjà phenomenon?"

Everyone nodded, sharing their own experiences of glimpsing future events or parallel worlds. However, the glitches or processing errors in the brain that caused Déjà phenomenon had no definitive scientific proof.

"But our situation is different. We might have discovered a connection with the civilization on this world. This connection allowed some of us on Earth to catch a glimpse of it and mistake it for imagination, thus leading to the creation of fantasy stories we're familiar with."

Deep in thought, everyone considered the possibilities and found them plausible.

"And what about the artifact? It must be connected, right?" Ethan asked.

"It's possible," Amelia deduced, sending a shiver through everyone. "The artifact could have navigated itself to Earth, or someone could be using it to locate Earth. It adds another layer of danger to what we're already facing."

Luckily, the artifact seemed to have disappeared after transporting them to their current location. Another possibility is that it's somewhere else, doing something similar to what it did to them.

After the discussion that gave them to many shock, they decided to rest for a night and continue the exploration on the next day.

On their second day of exploration, everyone had specific tasks to ensure their survival. They gathered food, ensured the group's safety, set rules, and explored the murals for more information. Their main goal was to find an exit and, if possible, a way back home. Even though they hadn't found an exit from the dome yet, they aimed to learn as much as possible to prepare for what might be outside.

Rayana was interested in the murals, so she joined the exploration. One mural caught her eye. It showed one person reaching for something while others behind him were worshipping.

Rayana was confused about how these people got to this place. They fought with their heads down when they were with ordinary people, but after arriving here, they fought with their heads up.

Rayana was so focused on her thoughts that she didn't notice her surroundings.

"Did you find out anything?" Ethan asked her. Rayana didn't turn to face Ethan and kept looking at the mural. She pointed out a person with abilities.

"No murals I've seen so far showed what abilities he had. But the people with abilities seemed to respect and follow him. I've looked at the murals that Mr. Davis and Oliver saw, but I didn't see him there either. He didn't seem to be in the war with ordinary people or the war that happened after they arrived here."

"Maybe he was like a king they followed and didn't make it here," Ethan suggested, but he started thinking after hearing Rayana's response.

"I don't think so. We still don't know how they got here. I don't think the artifact that sent us here did it. I haven't seen any murals so far that used an object to transport them here. But that particular person, I think he may be the one who did it."

Ethan and Rayana stopped talking after that. They had a lot to think about.
