Chapter 15: Jenny's regrets....?

Cody rushes to his friend's office. He had a meeting again at the restaurant where Jenny, Honey's friend working and told him that Honey was gone almost a week already. He was so angry because why didn't Percy say anything to her?

He suddenly opened the door even though Percy had a client talking to him. "Don't you really intend to tell me, Percy, huh?"

Percy was startled by what his behavior. He first talked to the client before turning his attention to Cody.

"What do I have no intention of saying, Cody?" He wondered because if that was his transaction with a foreign investor, eh, he said already.

"All along, you knew Honey was leaving! And you never even utter a single word!" He could see in Cody's face of that it was angry.

Furious.

"Chill, Cody. She requested it. Wait, how did you know?"

"Jenny told me! Of all people, Percy! You're the least person I expected to lie to me!" So, it's Jenny.

"Are you close? If you've listened to her, why bother to hear my explanations?" He seized the papers and put them together. Although calm, Percy was annoyed for no good reason.

"To hear your side, of course! Even though I'm angry, I want to hear your side!" Cody hit his desk.

"What exactly did she say? I'll just add in if there's amiss."

"Percival! Come on, just spill it!"

"If you started, then I already added it."

He replied furious, "It was almost one week since Honey was gone in their apartment and you knew where she was. Because you're the only one she's talking to!"

Percy hold the side of his forehead That was only thing Jenny said because she only knows limited but his eruption, as if she knew the truth.

"That's all?"

"Why? Is there anything else?"

"That's just a piece compared to what I know."

"Then what?! I'm clueless!"

"She is guilty. She just sent a little to her family, that's why she took the opportunity on working abroad." Percy admits that it seems he was to be in the wrong.

"And you didn't stop her?!"

"Why would I? If you hear her say it, you'll just support her. Also, she already booked her flight when she told me that."

Relax, Percy. It might be his burst of emotions. He convinced himself.

"And you just let her go? Are you even a friend?"

"And you? Is there anything you can do for her?"

He was surprised when Cody suddenly punch him. "Yes! I can do something!"

He did everything to not lose his patience but Cody punched him!

They're friends for so long, and they're breaking apart just because of a woman?

"You know your Tito is whom she likes, and you never did a thing to win her. So don't expect anything you can do!"

Being jealous is one of the Cody's manner. That even Percy, he's seeing him as someone to be jealous of.

Percy remembered why he had accepted a job in Singapore. It was because he was jealous of him because he knows Cody's 'apple of my eyes' that time. She was a friend in elementary and they were talking each other wellbeing that Cody took it as something unpleasant.

Suddenly Cody created a scene that Percy was stealing his girl. He didn't know what happened to the two after he left. They had just settled in when they met in the Maldives for a project.

"How will I win her?! You're always there beside her! You're sticking like her boyfriend!" And Cody pointed him away.

"Because you're so malicious! Honey is like a sister to me. Don't you see, Cody? We're fighting over a girl! The only difference is, I'm not into her romantically."

"Liar!"

"I'm not a liar! If she was just my sister, I wouldn't want you for her! I know you. You have a tendency to hurt someone physically. I'll get off. Here's my resignation."

"I won't accept that! You're going to follow her, right? Are you getting married there, right?" He breathed a sigh.

Unbelievable!

His brain is taking a different path!

"I'm going back to Singapore. My project is over."

"And how did you finish that right away?" There is no answer to this answer that is very impossible for him to finish a task quickly.

"Honey helped me out. You would think again that we are in a relationship. Up to you. Up to you to go crazy!" Then Percy left Cody in the office that had been his refuge for several months.

The truth, at the end of the year he will return to Singapore. He also noticed the change in Cody's behavior. He doesn't like to argue so, as he can talk calmly as he does, he will.

He sit on the sofa and lay down his arms. He applied online and was hired at a small engineering firm that needed an engineer.

In fact, he has a great salary and if he puts aside his friend's behavior, he will earn a lot.

That's millions.

The case is, he is not greedy and he cares and has a good deal with those around him. No matter how big the projects he can get, he'll regret it later.

"Tito!" Sandy called as she hugged him.

"Sandy! How's our baby? " He brushed her hair down. "Wait, why aren't you braided?" He noticed that it was just a head band.

The girl's face was saddened and pouted. "Because ... I don't want Lola's braid. She knew only a few braids. Tita Honey knows a lot. Then, it varies!"

"Eh, she's not here, Sandy."

"Why did she leave, Tito? Lola said, because it's about work?"

He smiled at his niece and put her hair at her back. "Yes. She's working."

"Why didn't she tell me?"

"Ahm, because she's busy. But! She told me something. Do you want to know?" He smiled even more as Sandy's face glisten. She seem wants to hear it.

Sandy nodded, "Yes! Yes!"

He settled down and took the child in his lap. "She said she loves you. Then, when she is done of her work, she will visit us!"

"Really?"

"Yes. But you should never be naughty at Lola. And study hard."

"Yes! Wait, Tito! I have an assignment. Tita is always with me—"

"Tito is going to help you! Let me look, then after let's buy a burger."

"Yes! Just wait!" And Sandy went up to its room.

Percy sighed. He feels very bored and tedious.

"Tita. Percy. Good afternoon. " He gasped to the one who spoke suddenly from the door.

It's Jenny.

"Do you need anything?"

"Is... Is Sandy here? She ran away... from me."

"Yes. In her room. Tita asked you to watch over?" Jenny just nodded. "I'll take over. Thanks." He got up to go to his room.

He will admit.

He still loves her.

But he does not want to hurt himself anymore and insist on what is not possible.

Although his chest still thundered every time he saw Jenny, this past week, he learned to face it and look her right in the eye.

Without the help of Honey.

Jenny couldn't remember when she last spoke to Percy as if they were close. But in their conversation, it seems to be blurry.

More blurriness than the high grade of the eye.

For almost a week, she tried to contact Honey but could not find her Facebook. She was probably being blocked.

She returned to their apartment where they were staying and that was just how sad she was.

Previously, it was very noisy because of Honey. Jenny's will be annoyed but Honey is even more angry. Sometimes, she thinks her friend leave without a word because it has something to do with Percy.

Or, it could be they're in a relationship.

And she went away because she was guilty.

She can't blame her.

Honey is single for a decade.

She is it the type of person who likes getting friendly to a man. So when Jenny saw the two, she couldn't help but wonder.

Wonder herself.

In her own feelings.

Why, in this kind of situation they broke apart?

But, who ruined it?

Is it Honey who's always there?

Or, her who has become selfish?

Manley stopped the car upon seeing his nephew's friend. It's in front of the small engineering firm. He often having talks to the old architect of the firm.

He maneuvered the car and put it on its side. They really had a talk to have coffee this morning.

"Percy?" He called when he approached him.

Percy surprised and held on to his chest. "Kuya Jonas! I'm getting a panic attack because of you!"

He laughed at how Percy appearance. Obviously nervous. "What are you doing here? Meditating?"

"No. It's my first day and I feel like it's the first time I've applied!"

"Come on, Percy. You've been in this job for almost a decade! You can do that!"

"I hope so."

"Anyway, if it's your first day here? Did Cody remove you?" His nephew has a tendency to push the closest. Threatened with whatever.

"Nah. I actually, quit!" And laugh.

"And why?"

"Same old story."

Manley's mouth was hung and didn't able to answer what Percy had said.

"So? Who's the unlucky girl?" He asked a question smiling.

"You know her. Honey."

"What?" He seemed to be deaf to what he heard.

"I'm not into her romantically. We actually treat each other as twins. Because we had a lot in common. And Jenny is the I liked. Honey helped me out. I don't know Jenny's reason why she always changes the conversation every time I confess. But Cody… you know the story.

"He likes honey. And he sees me as a threat. Though, he knows I like Jenny."

Manley didn't know what to answer.

"What are you doing here outside? The office is open."

"Son of a man!"

"Oh my God!"

The two of them retreated when suddenly someone shows in between them.

An older man in his 60's was wearing a polo shirt tucked in jeans. Wearing an oval black mirror.

"Come on in. I bought a pandesal across the street. It's still warm. " And he went inside first.

"Yes." They answer at once.

The old man sat on a bamboo chair that resembled a couch. "Jonas, get 3 cups, as well as thermos. Thanks." Then the purchase was laid. "Are you Percival Montenegro?" He stared at Percy seriously.

"Yes!" Percy feels, he was in the first interview!

"Here, eat." The old man handed him a piece of pandesal.

"What is your coffee, Percy? 3 in 1 or coffee black? Is it just hot or warm?"

"3 in 1 and it's warm. Thanks."

"All right."

"So, hijo. I'll never ask you about your passion for work." He breathed a sigh of relief. After all, he's already hired. "You know, we're just a small firm. And compared to what you used to do, it might just a penny for your salary. This is the question...

"Why do you prefer my firm?"

Percy automatically swallowed. Manley arrives and put the coffee. He drank slowly.

"Oh, Sir Hugo. Don't put Percy in a hot seat." Manley was sitting opposite him.

"Well, that's strange, Jonas."

"Honestly, yes, I will earn millions but I do not want to regret the later on. Actually, they're about to fired me. I resigned first before they fired me. Hehe." He scratch the side of his forehead. He was not comfortable telling it to other people.

"Well, I'm not going to ask anymore. Let's go eat breakfast."

Percy breathed a sigh of relief as he faced Manley.

Jenny was leaving the house when she met Percy. She would have greeted it as he walked straight out bringing something. It looks like he just got something. It's Sunday and she's off day.

She just get a paycheck too.

If Honey was here, it would be fun to go out and eat anything. They'll probably include Sandy.

"Haay."

Maybe if she e could convert her sigh to money, she would have accumulated a huge amount.

She also in a hurry because she would meet some of their friends in college.

"Jenny!" She sought the one who shouted in the sea of people inside the café. When someone waved, she found out where they was located.

The café is full. Because maybe it's Sunday today.

"How are you, girl?" Milanna asked, their Bisaya friend from Samar. Although Bisaya, it is fluent in Tagalog. They're height is not far from each other. It's in 5 flat. She is also a morena and her red lips are recognizable. Has a moderate body.

"I'm fine, Mils. You?" She smiled immediately.

"Fine too."

"Hey, Jen. Where's Honey?" Vera asked who a Pangalatok, from Pangasinan. She was always fighting with Honey but accomplice with their antics. She is tallest among them. It's 5'4 tall. She is also the most straightforward. Her head is rounded so even though she is not fat, it looks fat. And her nose is somewhat pointed.

"Ahm, busy."

"Busy? Are you joking? When we are about see each other, she will take time, right?"

Honey couldn't answer on what Vera said. Because that's true.

"Maybe the witch is legit, Vera?" Sheena the Ilokano, groaned. She's from Ilocos Norte. She is the smallest of them at 4'9 in height. She has fat cheeks that most people enjoy. She is the most white. Because of British roots.

"You even made me fool like that, Sheen? Are you still on a Facebook?" She sarcasm to three. The two shook their head except Jenny.

"What sense does it? I'm just phonecalls and of course, courtesy of Honey when we meet sometimes."

"That's the reason why you have no idea, Sheen! 2 or 3 weeks ago, Honey suddenly deactivated her Facebook! She's the most active of us!"

The two were stunned.

And Jenny became more anxious.

"You have a point. But, why did she decided it? Even she has work, she's such a monster when calling someone." Mils added that Vera nodded.

Sheen looked at Jenny as if she had no reaction. "Jenny, dear. What happened?"

With one question, tears suddenly shed in her eyes.

She misses Honey.

She made the mistake of thinking wrong about her.

"Jenny?" Sheena repeats.

"I made a mistake."

I took her for granted.
