Twenty

The next morning I wake up in bed with a terrible headache as a result of what happened to me last night. But the only name I had in head was Izzy. The way she held me and then her breathing and then the fact that she saved me.

I don't understand anything anymore. I thought before someone opened the door suddenly and rushed towards me.

"Lilith, you're still sleeping, hurry up and get dressed." It was Lise.

She rushed to my wardrobe and threw a dress on my bed.

"Go get in the shower, Jade's trial is coming up." She said before pushing me until I reached the bathroom and shutting the door.

I thought for a moment before showering as quickly as possible, scrubbing myself down quickly and then taking a moment for my towel and looking at myself in the mirror.

I had a huge bruise on my head which was proof against the commander from last night. Once out of the shower I got dressed in the simple dress that Lise had left for me before heading out to the meeting room where this would take place.

Once inside there are only 8 people, me, my mother, the commander, Lise, Jade and a judge I have never seen before and two guards holding Jade.

"Well now that everyone is here we can start" he said then the trial began with exchanges between me and the commander, he didn't look serene at all.

"The commander raised his hand on me last night and tried to kidnap me," I threw out.

Mom looks up at me, irritation written all over her features.

" What did you say Lilith ?" she shouts out loud, looking like she is very angry.

She comes up to me and slaps me. This is the first time she dares to do this to me.

" Mum." exclaimed Lise " How can you hit her in front of us like that. "

" Lilith was supposed to get with the commander."

I didn't understand Mom, but thankfully Lise was there. I really wanted to cry, but I held back the tears as best I could.

"Mum , I'm in love with the commander, that's why Lilith isn't interested in him."

I was impressed that Lise had just blurted out her feelings in front of everyone, but she loved that shitty commander.

" I'm in love with someone esle, plus you look like a brat with all this make up just be natural girl, I want to marry your sister Lise ." he tells her, angry, cruel, sparing nothing.

And Lise stopped smiling. Instead she flinches, nearly recoils away from the commander, her eyes getting wet. And I instantly I want to punch the commander in the face for making her cry like that.

Great job, asshole. Throw it in her face. Remind her that the guy she does love is somehow in love with her sister. It's not like you know exactly how it feels, wanting someone who'd rather be with someone else. It's not like you can relate every fucking minute you spend with her.

The commander finally sighed and stood up.

"Release her, she is not guilty, I am the one who started it all," he said to everyone's shock.

" You can let Jade , now I don't think she could do anything else ." said mom.

Mom spins around on her heels, the commander padding ahead after her.

Lise cold eyes puncture me. Filled with more rage than everything else, and it takes me a moment to remember what I was even doing in the first place. I stumble back a little.

" I'm sorry ." I choke. " I'm so sorry Lise ."

" You don't have to be sorry Lilith , it's not even your fault if he doesn't like me ." she says with a chill. She touches her pearls across her collarbone.

"It won't repair the damage that you have donne to this family ." She takes a step forward and I step back because I don't want to face her.

" You have everything a girl could ever want , and you had to make the commander fall in love with you." She shouts with all the angriness she had.

Tears cloud my eyes, I didn't want to show them, but I can keep them away anymore .Lise leaves the room and I looked at Jade, she is on the ground, and maybe she thinks that I'm pathetic, but she smiles at me.

" Let's go home Lilith ." She takes my hand and bring me to our house and when we arrive I said something that I thought I would never say.

" Let's train , I really need this today please ." that exactly what I need, she doesn't respond but just nod to tell me that it was okay.

We train all the afternoon and when it was time for dinner Jade cook for us both, we eat in total silence and then go to the room. I just sit on the bed.

" What are you doing Lilith ?" she said as she come near me.

" I'm tired " I said as she come and hold me before I shiver against her hold.

" I know Lilith. I know " She croaks as her beautiful soft voice cracks as she began to cry, and all this was my fault.

" It's ok if you want to sleep . G-get some rest , Lilith please." her voice looked broken.

" I don't know .... I really don't want...I don't feel well and all the things that happened to you were my fault." I cry even more and put space between her and me. She looks at me but don't say anything.

" Maybe I should just stop trying things like that , I just made people hate you even more than before." I stop myself "And now I don't know what is going to happened."

I take a pillow and put it on my face. For me, it was a kind of protection and even if I'd looked ridiculous, I felt better. I heard Jade laugh.

After a few minutes I breathe slowly like I'm sleeping. Then I hear Jade fall asleep and dreaming right until I hear something from her.

" I love you Lise but you don't actually see me ." she whispers.
