Ability Demonstration

-Location Glynda's Office-

Jaune followed Ms. Goodwitch to her office without complaining, while the rest of his friends were worried about him.

As they arrived at her office, Glynda sat down on her chair before speaking in a stern voice.

"Mr. Arc, do you know why I called you here?"

"Is it because of my 'tattoos'?" He almost wanted to groan, if he knew that this was going to be a problem he should have probably asked Echidna to make him something that could hide his 'mark'.

"Good, so you do know what you are here for," Glynda said with a sigh.

"Ma'am, would you believe that this thing on my forehead isn't really a tattoo?" He said while smiling wryly.

"Mr. Arc, are you taking me for a fool?" Glynda replied coldly.

"No, ma'am of course not." He said with a sigh and thought. 'As expected she didn't believe it, but oh well I guess I tried.'

"Mr. Arc, although there isn't a rule in the school that tattoos aren't allowed, however, we have an image to follow. You are a part of a prestigious school so act like it!" Glynda almost growled at him.

He couldn't help but close his eyes. It felt sucks to be scolded for something he didn't do, but he decided to accept his fate.

It wasn't a secret that he was Glynda's least liked student in Beacon, not only was he the weakest but he also hardly showed progress.

He couldn't really blame her for disliking him, after all, he fully knows that he's a fake, a criminal who sneaked inside beacon academy with a fake transcript but miraculously managed to pass anyway.

But right now, it isn't the case anymore. He wasn't the same weak kind from half a year ago, he changed for good.

"Normally I'll punish you in a month of detention but…my combat class will start a few minutes from now on, if you manage to beat one student from class then consider this conversation never happened." Glynda gave him the perfect motivation to win.

"However, if you lose then you'd get a month's worth of detention, understood Mr. Arc?"

"Crystal."

"Good, now you may go." Glynda allowed him to leave.

Without saying another word, he left the office.

Outside,

Pyrrha was waiting worriedly for her partner to come out of Ms. Goodwitch's office, she hoped that he was okay.

Then the door to Ms. Goodwitch's office opened and her eyes brightened as she saw the figure of her partner.

"Jaune! Are you alright? Did you get punished?" Pyrrha asked in a concerned tone.

Jaune waved his hands at her, but that gesture didn't make her less worried about him. "I'm completely fine, but as for the punishment, well it depends on my performance in combat class."

Now she's really concerned because she knew everyone knew that he was the weakest in the school, he never once won a combat.

Jaune saw through her concern he smiled at her. "Don't worry about me, I'm different from before Pyr, I've got this."

If he said those words to reassure her yesterday, she might not believe her and thought of it as him being overconfident.

However, for some reason, she felt like she could trust his words because he spoke with conviction and confidence that wasn't faked.

"Alright, I believe in you." Pyrrha truly does want to believe in him.

"Ah, but before I go to class I'll take something from our room."

-Location Combat Classroom-

First-year students of Beacon Academy were now in their respective seats, including team JNPR and RWBY.

Seeing that everyone was here, Glynda spoke. "Now, let's begin the combat class."

She glanced at Jaune and said. "Mr. Arc goes into the combat ring."

Without complaining he went into the ring, he already expected this to happen anyway.

Glynda narrowed as she noticed something different from Jaune's attire and most importantly his weapon.

"Mr. Arc, you aren't wearing any protective gear and….what happened to Crocea Mors?"

"Oh, about the protective gears they hinder my ability to move and for Crocea Mors, I don't think it's the right weapon for me anymore." He admitted, he spent more time using the katana that his sensei gave him, so it's no wonder that he's more proficient in using katana rather than a short sword and a shield.

He knows Pyrrha would be disappointed at this, but he already created his path, this will be his main weapon.

"I see…hopefully you're right…" Glynda didn't fully believe him, but if he really wanted to lose and get a month's worth of detention from her then he was free to do so.

But her faith in him will be non-existent after this, she would no longer think of him as a student who deserves to be in beacon.

Then Glynda let her scroll randomly pick a student to fight Jaune, she also made sure that it isn't Cardin or Pyrrha because he fought Cardin a few times now and Pyrrha is the strongest first-year student, she doubts that he would have any chance of winning.

Glynda stared at her scroll and saw Jaune's opponent, she couldn't help but sigh at this. "Ruby Rose, come forward."

Ruby was a bad match for Jaune frankly, he was a tank while she was a speedster, however, that was the case for the former Jaune.

He wasn't just a tank, but also a speedster and a hitter, because to a demon slayer one fatal injury you're dead, that's it he was taught to invade as much as possible.

Killing the enemy without sustaining permanent damage or it would be all over for them, it was drilled inside his head.

"Here!" Ruby quickly arrived inside the combat ring using her semblance.

"Now, the same rule: if your aura turns red then you're out," Glynda said with a stern voice, it was especially directed at Jaune.

"Hehe, sorry Jaune! But I'm taking this round!" Ruby spoke in confidence.

Jaune just smiled at her comment and replied, "I wouldn't be so sure about that Ruby…after all, I'm not the same as before."

He unsheathed his katana and made a perfect stance.

Glynda was surprised at his stance and thought, 'Perhaps there's still a chance for him.'

Although that stance was just one of the basics of how to use a katana, the fact that he knows what he was doing is a good sign.

Ruby switched her Crescent Rose to combat mode and it became a Scythe that was as big as her.

"Go, Ruby! Kick Vomits boy's ass!" Yang cheered at her younger sister.

"Fearless leader break her leg!" Nora cheered at Jaune.

Blake was now interested in the battle, one because it was Ruby who is fighting, two of Jaune's weapons of choice, she never saw him use a katana yet, his posture says otherwise, and that stance isn't something a beginner could do.

Pyrrha didn't know what to think at the moment, she didn't know what he was thinking about changing weapons all of the sudden. She hoped that her partner knew what he was doing.

Weiss huffed at Jaune's new weapon. "What is that dolt doing?"

The countdown started.

"Begin!"

Without hesitation Ruby used her semblance to appear behind Jaune, she wanted to end this as fast and painless as possible.

Ruby was sure that Jaune wouldn't be able to react to her surprise attack but, outside of her expectation, there was no one in front of her, she was sure that she went behind hi-

"Looking for me, Ruby?"

Ruby felt goosebumps all over her body as she heard Jaune's voice behind her.

She panicked for a moment before she quickly retreated away from her opponent's range.

Immediately she switched her Crescent Rose to sniper mode and started firing a dust bullet into Jaune with great accuracy.

However, Jaune easily blocked her dust bullets with ease, he looked as if he was trying at all!

Quickly changing her strategy of staying in a single spot, she decided to move while continuing to fire dust bullets at Jaune.

However, despite that nothing changed at all! He countered them like they were nothing!

It was as if her bullets were moving in slow motion in his eyes.

"Guess, it's my turn." In a blink of an eye, he appeared right in front of her, slashing her with his katana and just like that.

30% of her aura disappeared.

And he was just using one hand! Imagine if he used two?!

It would be instantly over for her!

But little did she know, that was him holding back.

Jaune thought after testing the waters, 'So, she's at this level…if I were to rank her with demon slayers, she would be Kanoe based on her abilities alone but as for her combat experience it's even lower than Kanoto, probably because she never experienced a life and death situation multiple times.'

He almost died multiple times, but it wasn't demons who made him almost die, it was his sensei's training.

It would be described as hell in his opinion.

"Sorry, Ruby I'll end this now." With that Ruby was sentenced to a certain defeat.

She didn't even realize her aura had dropped by a large margin. Only 1% was left and she didn't even feel a thing!

"E-ehh?" Dumbfounded, she didn't know what happened!

It was so fast even for her!

Everyone in the classroom was silent at the defeat of Ruby Rose, who was expected to win.

"M-match end…!" Glynda somehow managed to choke some words out of her mouth, she too was dumbfounded as the rest.

Especially that last attack of Jaune, even though she couldn't see it!

And just like that, the match ended with an unexpected winner.

Jaune Arc.

That concludes it.

As you can see, Ruby couldn't break the speed barrier, unlike most demon slayers in the series, and just a reminder that Jaune is a Hashira level demon slayer, aside from Blake he's the closest thing to reaching the level of Yoriichi.

He needs about 3-4 levels before he could reach Yoriichi level.

For example level 10 is humanity's absolute limit, and Yoriichi broke past it making level 12 or 13.

The current Jaune is at level 8 peak, also level 9.

Blake on the other hand managed to get on Yoriichi's level temporarily; he used that technique that almost got him killed.

But he broke his limits because of that, he's a solid level 11 now.

As for the rest of the group.

Echidna is about 50. If you include her magic. Not sure how much powerful magic she has though plus her authority as the Witch of Greed had a lot of uncertainties.

Archer is about 100, not including his weapons and reality marble.

There's no level cap here.

As for Lucifer, well, she's not really strong as OG, but in my case, she's at a planetary level.

Oh yeah, I didn't forget about Jaune's rewards of course.

I haven't it yet, but it has to do with 'swords'
