What a Cliche adventure

Have you ever woken up from being black out drunk and then find out God is talking to you? No? What about finding out that God wants you to go to another world? No to that too, huh? Well looks like I'm destined to be an isekai protagonist. May as well have fun with it right? Save the world, rule the world, conquer the world? Who cares, I just wanna have fun seeing what cliches I can find --------------------------------------------- Hey, person writing this here. Now this is not my first story that I have written but it is so far the one I am enjoying the most and have made the most progress on so bear with me if there are any mistakes or inconsistencies, just leave a comment or something and I will try to fix it. Also my style of writing this story is I am extremely open to suggestions, naturally I won't take all of them, but if there is a good one then I will by all means listen to it since I am not a perfect writer. Plus the more people interact with me the more I am willing to write! Please note as well that generally my chapters are long so I will try to aim for 1 week intervals for releases, if people want me to release more chapters but just split the large ones into segments just so that it's once a day or something like that then I can give it a shot. Thanks for taking a look, hope you like it ---------------------------------------------- Also please note I am not good at drawing hence the artwork being minimal(Aka a stock photo from the web. It's legal, I checked.) and the title is still up for debate since I'm not good at coming up with titles. So like usual, good suggestions appreciated.

The Start of a Cliche Dungeon

Ah, there is nothing quite like a good night's rest in weather that is just the right amount of hot and cold. Something that I would hate about camping was that when you do it the only time that campgrounds would be open was during the summer, which I think is horse shit.

It is much better this was where it's... spring? Fall? Does this world even have the same seasons? Well whatever it is, it feels cool but not freezing.

I stretch my body out as I yawn and crawl out of the tent. Yup this stretch still feels amazing still.

I sit in a camping chair and pull out a bottle of water since my mouth is really dry after waking up. After I drink the water I yawn again and scratch the back of my head, seems like I got bed head again.

Well that's enough rest for me, I stand up and yawn one last time while I stretch my back. Man this yawn was intense though, I have some tears in my eyes. Just shows how damn good it was though.

Well now for part 2 of the morning, the restroom and taking down the campsite. I'll spare you from the bathroom, I'll just say I dug a hole and that should give everyone the context.

I wonder… can I store the tent into my inventory like this? If I can then that would save me a lot of time and will definitely please my lazy side.

I put my hand against the tent and think of pulling it into my Inventory, oh it worked, sweet. It even went and took the sleeping bag and put it in the inventory separately. I wonder if since I put the tent in there still made will it still be complete?

Well I'll test it later, I put the camping chair I was sitting on back into my inventory and look at my map for where I need to head to.

Man this inventory thing is handy. Even if it's not unlimited (it looks like it is though), this is extremely helpful for me to go and store what I bring with me.

Mkay, lets see. I go and I scroll north on the map.

And I scroll some more.

And more...

Why haven't I found it yet?

After 3 more swipes I finally see that the mountain is 3 miles away which I know isn't that far... for a car. I am a human with limited speed, like my stamina is next to non existent, I don't even know how long it will last while walking.

If it's at all like back on earth then this won't be fun.

*2 hours later*

Sweet jesus kill me. It hasn't even been a mile yet, hold back your disappointment though, I have to go through this heavily wooded area. Takes a lot longer and more energy that walking on a sidewalk which I now know that I took for granted. Treat your sidewalks well people! Spread the word so you don't suffer as I have.

*2 hours later*

That was an amazing after lunch nap.

Wait did you really think I would just go and keep walking this whole 2 hours just because it had a time skip. Especially after being that tired?

Pft.

Nah. Nope.

I almost got eaten by some weird plant. Couldn't scan or kill it though since I couldn't find it so as soon as I ran as far as my stamina would take me I just passed out. Which honestly isn't a smart thing to do since I can be killed at any time.

Oh well, rest is important. It's already shocking that I didn't die overnight while in that flimsy nylon tent. Must be the plot armor bestowed upon me by god. Hope that bastard sneezes when I mention him.

Well I guess that's enough of my ranting over.

I pull up the map, apparently I'm only a mile away now so at this rate I should be an hour or 2 away now.

Yay.

I stand up from the spot I was sitting at and start walking north again.

After about 40 minutes my trip got a lot easier because instead of a Forest it is now a plains/Savannah/flatland type area. So no need to worry about roots or trees, just need to worry about animals that are going to sneak up on me and kill me in the grass. Should be easy... Right?

About 35 minutes of walking later I got my answer, it was indeed that easy. Nothing else was on the way so I got to the dungeon relatively easily.

The dungeon looks weird though, it's not like a man made archway, it looks just like a cave from the outside. If I wasn't told otherwise I would think that it was honestly just another cave that exists in the world. I wonder what it looks like inside.

After stepping in I didn't find much, just multiple pathways that led to dead ends. There wasn't a single monster. I wanted to grind my level so this sucks. The dungeon doesn't even look special. It's just really cave like. Maybe the dungeon starts somewhere else?

I keep walking down the pathway that hasn't ended yet and suddenly find myself at a wooden door, this must be the start point.

I open up the door as quietly as I can and see that it is pitch black in there. I decide to walk in as slowly as I can so that I can sneak in. After going about 2 feet in the door slams itself shut, completely ruining my stealth attempt. Inside the darkness suddenly a pain of eyes appear from the middle I think.

I can't tell, hell I can barely see my hand at an inch away from my face. At least I think that's an inch, could be less since, like I said, I can't see.

I see the eyes lock onto me and start bobbing as they get larger.

Shit it's coming at me.

[Skill [Dark Vision (Minor)] Acquired]

Convenient.

But I'll take it.

Now that I have that skill I can see about a foot in front of me which, at this point in time, is more than enough since my enemy is a foot away.

It still doesn't think I can see it though. Well I guess it's true since all I can tell is that a grey blob is attacking me.

Little does it know that I can see it at all!

I stab out with the pocket knife and I think connect it? The blob stopped moving, so did the eyes.

[Received 1 skill point]

After a moment the room suddenly brightens up with no warning if I might add. With how sudden and bright it is I can't help but cry in pain. It's like a pitch black classroom suddenly being outside in the sun.

[Skill [Light Adjustment(Minor)] Acquired]

[Skill [Blinding Resistance(Minor)] Acquired]

Son of a bitch. To get resistances am I going to need to torture myself?

Can't I just go on a death march and do a point buy?

God?

Kami-sama?

Satan?

Nothing... I thought it was a good idea too.

This system would be perfect for a masochist. I'm not though, not like anyone will believe me though since I plan on maxing out all my resistances. That's for a later date though, gotta beat this dungeon first.

After recovering my eyesight I look down at whatever I stabbed/poked and see probably the ugliest monstrosity ever.

I scan the body and see it's a dead goblin, all it had on was a loin cloth and a wooden stick(Club?). That's not the problem though.

Imagine this. A baby that is Gollum, Dobby, and Shrek's love child. It's got a body with limbs as scrawny as Gollum and is about as tall, has ears and eyes like Dobby, and skin and a nose like Shrek.

God damn. Well I at least have some firewood and bait so I store it's stick and the body.

At the other end of the hall from that bastard door I came in from is another door made of iron, I think. This must be the exit.

Before I head out though time to spend those Attribute points.

4 on strength, 2 on cunning, and 2 on endurance since I need that health.

Time to continue on!
