The three of them exited the house and waved goodbye to Helen as they left. Fey kept staring at her phone as they walked.

"What's up?" Dax asked her, curious as to why her focus was so squarely on the phone in her hand. "Is something wrong?"

"I was expecting a text or call from my mother." Fey said with a sigh. "I didn't come home last night, and she didn't even care."

"Maybe Leo told her where you were." Dax replied.

"That I was staying at a boy's house?" Fey asked with a laugh. "I wish he would have. Well, not really because she would find a way to punish you. My point is that she definitely would have reached out about that. So, I know dad didn't tell her anything.
