Chapter 2: My boring life

"Bevin Wilson."

It was the last lesson of the day. We were finished reading and now Mr.Charleston was handing out our geography tests from last week. My name was called. I hid my earpods out of sight and stood up. As I did eyes stared at me from all directions. I dragged my feet from the last chair to the teacher's desk. Several of the chains on my wrist clanked. Mr.Charleston peered at me over his horn-rimmed glasses.

"You've got a D here. The test wasn't as hard. That's the lowest here. You could've scratched up a bit more grades" He said

I nodded as a reply

"One-on-one after school okay?" He said

I groaned as slowly as I could. I wanted to go home really bad.I went back to my desk.

"Hazel Austen" Mr.Charleston called out. A brunette-haired girl stood up."A perfect A as always" Mr.Charleston praised her. Hazel's face lit up. She beamed at me. It wasn't that she was bragging or anything she's just a bit...I don't know. We weren't exactly friends. Atleast not now. She was just too good to me but I haven't told her yet. As the final bell of the day rang,I instead of going out made my dreadful journey to the staff room. I knocked twice and entered.I found him earlier than I would've wanted to. I was looking forward to a boring speech-as always. Mr.Charleston with his greying hair and hazel eyes sat on his desk with a cup of coffee steaming in front of him. "Your grades are getting worse. It's not like you can't do it. You used to be a top student. You just don't pay attention. Take your brother for instance" He said."Eel Eric" I muttered. Eric Wilson, my older brother was a teacher's pet. Always been a perfectionist and last year got offered a good job which made my life hell. After Five more minutes of enduring his speech, I made my way to the bus.

His dark hair swaying in the wind and his black backpack bouncing along, he hopped up the bus and glad that Hazel, who was busy chatting hadn't noticed him. He took his seat next to a window and stared outside.
