Waking

I woke up right when Clarita knocked on my door. I dreaded waking up but I knew that I must.

I have a kingdom that I must help rule, no longer will just the men have to take care of such business. I opened the door and began storming downstairs but Clarita shrieked and pulled me back into my room by my wrist "Princess you are not in proper royal attire!" she hissed.

I smiled and looked at her "I want to wear pants today, with a men's shirt." I said, she looked like she just saw a ghost.

All the color drained from her face and she said "Pardon, Princess? That is NOT acceptable!"

I glared at her and said "I never want to get upset with you so just, please, grab me the attire that I asked for." She practically sprinted to Theodores room and took a pair of his brown pants and simple lace-up white shirt.

She quickly took my measurements to adjust the size of the pants to my body. After about an hour of adjustments she looked at her work and asked very seriously "Are you sure you want to do this princess? You will be the first woman of court to have ever of done this."

I chuckled and said "And I'll also be the first woman of court to have my voice heard!" I walked out the room in my new, technically borrowed, pants. They felt weird because I was so use to wearing dresses. I felt a surge of confidence as I walked down the stairs. When my family saw me their jaws flew open and father stood up.

"Rosemary! HAVE YOU GONE MAD?!" he shrieked.

"No father, I have grown an independent brain." I said in satisfactory due to seeing his expression, he was absolutely stunned and so were my brothers, they looked a little more excepting of it though.

I looked at my father and smiled while saying "I'd like to go to court! I have ideas of what we could do to prepare for the future." he looked even more stunned where he just nodded his head and whispered "O-ok Rosemary..." we ate in silence and afterwards I asked father if we could talk about the future in his study.

He agreed, after we got inside and got seated I started off "I have ideas of what to do with possibilities in the future with the shortages in food and money. Are you interested in hearing them?"

He looked at me for a minute and said "I would like to hear your ideas very much Rosemary." we talked about the future for about 5 hours until lunch was ready when we sat a lunch father announced "I have decided to take Rosemary with me to the next meeting in Court" the brothers looked shocked but it was quickly replaced with happiness.

"Really father?! Does that mean that she's a member in court?!" asked Colton excitedly, father smiled and said "Not quite yet son, it still has to be voted on." the brothers started talking excitedly about the future of their sister being the first member in serious court decisions that was a woman.
