chapter ten: ruining the date

When I got to school with jason,I had no idea what was about to happen. I walked towards my locker with jason. I put my things in the locker and that's when I saw lisa walking past me.

I looked at her and saw that she had a bandage wrapped around her arm. She was trying hard to put her things in the locker.

I was about to walk to her when I saw Ashley and her friends coming towards me. She looked angry but then smiled and got closer to me, she put her hand on my shoulder and asked me why I ditched her as we had a beautiful moment.

"Sorry Ashley but I will make it up to you I promise " I said looking behind her.

"Ok then, I will be waiting and this time you better not run away " she got closer to my lips and kissed me.

I don't want I happened but I didn't feel anything, I just kissed her back not to offend her.

She then smiled and left with her friends, I turned to close my locker and leave when suddenly I sensed someone breathing hard. I then saw lisa, she was trying to stand still but she couldn't.

I managed to catch her by luck and took her to the infirmary, the doctor took her in and I waited for her.

I could hear her screaming in pain, I didn't know how to help her. I was trying not to loss it. But hearing her screaming made me feel impatient.

Soon jason joined me and he tried to calm me down. I was walking back and forth hoping she will be fine.

"Relax dude, it's not like she's your girlfriend to be worried about " he patted my shoulder.

"I know that, but how come I feel uneasy all of a sudden, like am scared for something bad to happen to her"

"I don't know what it is but I highly doubt you might have feelings for her which am sure you're not are you?"

"What ? No ,you think I might like her?" I scoffed.

"If you're not then stop thinking about her and let's go " he said as he walks out.

I thought about what he said so I walked away with him. I got to class and Mr. Cameron who was a biology teacher saw me and asked why I was late.

I told him that i took a student to an infirmary and apologized. He didn't seem to care and gave me a detention.

So I joined the class knowing that I will have to tell Ashley to cancel our date plan.

By the end of the day, I sat in the biology lab with other students and I had to wait for two hours till the end of detention.

By the time it was over, I heard footsteps passing by the class I was in, I turned and saw a woman walking towards the infirmary.

There was a doctor waiting for her, she turned around and saw me as I got out of class and she quickly got in the room.

"That's strange " I mumbled as walked towards the infirmary.

When I got closer I looked through the window and saw lisa lying on the bed unconscious and the woman holding her hand.

I looked closer but her back was facing me so I couldn't see her face. I stayed there for a while but she didn't turn.

So I walked back to my locker and took out my jacket when suddenly Ashley came out of nowhere and stood in front of me.

"Hey Ashley, what are you doing here, I thought I texted you to tell you that I will reschedule our date" I said closing my locker.

"I know but I thought since you got out early we could still go out don't you think?" She asked putting her arm around mine.

"Yeah, but I don't feel like it so can we postpone it ?"an sure if she would agree to it.

She shook her head and kept nagging me that she didn't want to.

"Ok then let's go " I said feeling annoyed by her behaviour.

Am sure I regret ever making out with her in the first place. We walked together to my car and helped her get in.

We drove out of the school and drove to town. We reached the busy city and stopped near a restaurant.

We got inside and I saw my friends chatting near the door and having fun. Jason saw me and he waved at me.

I looked at Ashley and the look on her face showed that she didn't like that I had my friends with me.

But then she covered her annoyance with a smile and looked at me. We took a seat next to them and we started chatting.

"Hey toby, any news about the girl whom you carried yo the infirmary?"asked Nick as he hand me a plate of food.

"Huh nothing dude, I just saw someone coming to see her before I left school " I said as I remember the woman.

I looked back at Ashley and I could sense she was trying not to be bored with me.

"Are you ok Ash, do you want to leave? I could call you a cab" I asked.

"No need babe, am sure that I will get along with your friends "she said as she grabbed my face.

I smiled at her and looked at my friends who were busy and having fun.

Suddenly I saw her standing and walking away. I followed her outside and I could hear her heartbeat increasing she was angry I guess.

"Why are you doing this ?"she screamed.

"What are you talking about?" I asked pretending not to know anything.

"The fact that you invited your friends on our date" she pointed at them.

"Well, I told you that we could go out another day but you insisted that you wanted it to be tonight so I don't think you should be angry at me " I said walking towards her.

"We.... well I don't feel like it and if you don't mind take me home now" she stumbled.

"Sorry princess, I can't, maybe a cab will do right?" I asked as I I dialled my phone.

She seemed so angry and walked away, swaying her hips and I felt a bit relieved that it worked.

As I was about to get back to the restaurant, I saw a car stopping near me and a familiar face came out at the view.

It was lisa, she looked tired and she had someone next to her, she called her by name veronica.

When lisa saw me she smiled as she step out of the car with a woman who was helping her came in sight.

I stare at her and something flashed in my mind,I saw a blonde hair and face which I couldn't recognize well but the voice resembles the same as the woman. They both went in and took a seat.

I looked at the woman and she never dared to look at me, it's like she was avoiding eye contact.

I could see how her hand was trembling as she fed lisa.

"That's strange, could it be possible that she can hear me from distance?".....
