Chapter 21

The loud stomping of our footsteps rumbled the ground as we made our way to the spiral staircase at the other side of the hallway. My foot trampled in front of one other while I attempted to keep the loudness of our stomping to a minimum. Although, I didn't care how loud it is at this point. Our plan was to gather everyone as fast as possible after finding something that is able to cut open the lock. If making any noises would attract anyone before we open the cellar door. What was inside the cellar door was our goal to reach.

We spun around the stairs, careful of tripping on any of the railings on the side. The lobby room, as I now call it, was still empty, silent, and dark. The fast trampling of our shoes was the only sound that really echoed through the whole room. Ash quickly made his way for the door, trying to work the doorknob for it to open while I stayed beside him to keep guard. My heart beat rose in pace and I breathed a little bit faster. I checked left and right of the hallways to see if anyone came out there. I'm hoping that our noise would get somebody to come down but there wasn't anyone. I held onto the rod as I laid it beside my leg for protection. Ash, after fiddling with the knobs, was able to open the tall entrance door that revealed the outside and made his way outside. I glanced back into the building as I gripped the rod tighter. It was my gut that made me extra cautious— or even paranoid for anything or anyone.

"We don't enough time to be standing here," he rushed me to walk behind him with the flashlight. And with that, I quickly followed him behind.

The wind blew the thin and long blades of grass as they swayed in different directions. The sky was dark and cloudy with only the moon being partially covered from the movements of gray. I looked down at my steps, making sure that the path was clear enough for me to run after him. Ash kept running forward while he headed straight across the wing. The panting of my shallow breath and the shuffling of the grass was the only thing my mind could focus on. The empty fountain that Finn was checking out circled behind us as we made it ran past it.

I struggled to catch a deep breath, "So, wouldn't—" I paused for a second, "— it be better if we told everybody else before we headed over here?"

He stopped in his tracks after slowing down, "Why would it be better? Let's go," he replied with something short and continued walking.

I shrugged at his answer and wondered if all the running had cut my brain circuits short. TK We are in a rush to open the bolt after all, but why is he rushing himself to it. I discovered that the moon was still hours away from setting and then everyone would have to meet up in the lobby room. I didn't find anything else to say other than to keep following behind with him. We were more than halfway through the east wing and more closer to the shack that he mentioned is on the other side.

"We're here," he said with his legs straightened upwards as his shoes scraped on the concrete walkway. I caught up closer beside him as much as my body continued to let me. My lungs huffed out shallow breaths of air before I stood back up.

We stood in front of a dark wooden building that's a quarter as wide as a institution itself. The light casted upon it's wooden board that held together as the floor and the small steps that connected upwards from the ground to the porch. The steps didn't look stable enough to support anyone stepping on it, and unfortunately, the porch is leveled off the ground so there wouldn't be any other way to get up.

"Wow, the shack actually exists—," I remarked at the shack, hoping that it would loosen up his serious expression. I'm that type of person who disliked being in serious situations as much as being a serious person myself. Well, it sounds more of a Finn saying. Though, the whole search made me uneasy than fully serious about this.

"You didn't actually believe me?" he said with small grin formed on his face. He started to walk to the porch floor of the shack, avoiding the small steps that I knew wouldn't be able to hold his weight.

"No, of course I didn't. I didn't get to walk around and be able to notice that this is here," I laughed, wiping my nose with my finger.

He laughed along with me as the flashlight switched to his other hand, "I guess that's right. You get to see it in front of you now. Let's hurry up and look for the bolt cutter."

I grabbed his outstretched hand as he lifted me up over the steps. My hand brushed my shirt straight as my other hand held onto the wooden pole for support. He turned back towards the house. We both had different places to quickly look over from the way we both separated from each other. I stood in front of a metal door that surprisingly was still closed shut. I tried the door knob a few more times, even pulling on it, before getting the idea to tell Ash that it's going to be more of a struggle opening this door.

I walked over to Ash who was looking, or attempted to, through the window, "I can't see what's inside. The windows is all dirty and fogged up."

"Really?" I asked.

He slapped his palm against the glass window, letting his arm slide down, "Yeah, like the window has been blacked out. Not that it's dark too see through, but it's like it was on purpose."

The flashlight beamed at the glass while I tried to get a look through in the window. He was right, the light would have beaned straight to the ground inside the shack— but it didn't.

"Well, if it makes it any better, the door wouldn't budge open," I looked back at him to see if I got a reaction from him. He only looked confusingly at the window.

"That's a pain in the ass. Hey, the metal rod that you carried along— can you hand it to me?" he suggested something for me to do, and for him to walk to the door.

I stood for a second to remember that I had left it laying around the grass TK while I was bending over to catch my breath. I jumped back down on the grass below the porch and shuffled my hands through the tall blades of grass. The amount of dry grass that surrounded the area that shack sat was had given me the impression that this area wasn't well maintained as most of the whole garden is. That observation didn't bother me as much due to the fact that none of us know if there were somebody that maintains everything in this area. My fingers brushed against something rounded and metal before grasping it.

"I found it!" I shouted at him before rushing back to the porch. I held the rod against the wooden boards before lifting myself off the ground.

"Great, hand it over," he took the rod from my hand and begun to think of ideas of what to do with it. I stood beside and watched him. He stood as his eyes focused on the rod to the doorknob. He fidgeted with the rod in his left hand, twisting and turning it, before he held the rod close to the metal doorknob in a close to swinging motion.

"What are you think about now?" I asked, though it was pretty obvious what he's doing but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

"I'm thinking of breaking this doorknob off," he replied.

I followed up, "By hitting the rod on this door knob? Are you sure that works?"

"I'm sure it will work," he felt nervous when he said that but he quickly lifted his chest in confidence, "there's a lock on this knob. If I knock this knob off, it would break the lock system with it too." TK

"I hope it works, even with how strong you are. Let's do it." I didn't feel like it was necessary for me to tell him that. He knew what he is doing when it comes to situations that require any strength of his own. My words are more for encouraging him.

He lifted both of his arms far above the knob before slamming onto it with a motion similar to cutting wood in half with an axe. A few seconds counted in between until he swung down.

Slam! Clang! I flinched back with my eyes shut for a couple seconds. The metal bulb knocked loudly on the wood floor before Ash's exhaled his breath loudly. The sound of metal rolling on the floor came to a halt as I opened back my eyes. I looked back at the door to see that it had finally budged open, and with Ash holding his fingers in the hole where the doorknob had used to be.

"Now that it's off, I can work my fingers in here so I can unlock the door that way," he said, getting straight to work.

It didn't take any longer than five minutes before Ash had begun to shift the door open with a twist of the rod. I stood in amazement as the door swung itself open to a pit of darkness, the doorway lighting up by the brightness of our flashlight.

"Wow, you're good at this. I might actually have to go to you for whenever I get locked out of my house like usual," I laughingly said, nudging his arm with my elbow.

"Haha— Thank you very much," he said, laughing along as he slowly walked in the door.

I followed him in as I cautiously peered my eyes around the blanket of darkness, with the door propped ajar so that the light from the moon facing our backs. Otherwise, the room was too pitch black for us to see well. We had found out after coming to the shack that the flashlight had died and no longer provided enough light.

"It's really hard to look around with only the moonlight to help us, you know?" Ash tries his best to not step on anything that he couldn't see in front of him.

"Yeah, I know. The flashlight would have helped us if it went on for a little longer. But who's there to blame, Candice was nice enough to carry those with her for the search," I replied, hoping I can assure my nerves along with it too.

The clattering of metal against one of the shack's belongings rang through the area. It didn't felt too stuffy to not be able to move freely but it still felt like we had limited space to move. I felt something scraped against my legs as I stepped aside for Ash to walk through. It wasn't difficult waving my arms around, feeling for what could be in front of me. The feel of the walls and the different feelings of items brushed against the palm of my hand to my fingers. Nonetheless, the moonlight hitting against the pitch black made as hard to see anything in, other than the moonlight reflecting off some of the items to what I assumed was shiny metal.

We continued to look around for anything that we were able to grasp it in our hands, waving in the air around us. The smell of hard wood and the crispy air diffused around the air as I took a heavy whiff of the air around me. The window was blacked out as I thought it was, with none of the outside light peering on the floor.

"Lianne," Ash said.

"What?" I replied as I stood back up, facing where his voice came from.

"I found a switch. It's one of those where you pull it down," he replied, a clang pounding from his direction.

"Hopefully, it's the switch to turn on the light. I can't see in here. Pull on it," I said, hinting rush in my words. I did hope that it was the light switch, but my curiosity hoped that it was something else.

He hummed out a small yes before a click sounded from his direction. The blanket of darkness that held nothing to see in flashed of bright orange light before the space of the shack illuminated. Many things started to appear in our sight, the lawn mowers, the sheers, and a lot of other things. We stood starting at them until we saw someone. Someone in front of us.

The both of us flinched back in startle. Ash on the verge of cursing. The black silhouette lit up the second I turned on the light, like a reveal. The male figure that we know stood in front of us. It is Hayden.

I glared wide eyed at Ash and he glared at me back. We stood there deciding on what we should do next. Hayden continuously stood there, still and lifeless, behind the barricade of garden tools. I took notice of that. I hesitantly spoke up, walking towards him without thinking,

"Hay—"

"Hey guys, how are you two doing?" Hayden said in a monotone voice, emotionless even, with his face down to the ground. He swayed to the right, with his right arm holding onto something on his far right. The flickering of the lights made it difficult for me to notice much else other than his arm reaching beside at something.

The sudden interruption stunned us both in confusion and surprise. Me and Ash had debated in our minds, like telepathy but with our eyes, already if we should just talk to him like it's nothing. Now, we hesitated even more. I didn't even finished what I was trying to say. It's more than surprising, shocking in a way, to realize right away that Hayden stood in front of us quiet and motionless this whole time, and in the dark also. It freaked the both of us out but I couldn't find any reason to question, though Ash's eyes begged to differ. Hayden's dull expression and asserting tone of voice felt unusual and very odd to the both of us.

I slowly glanced as his arm as I slowly started to approach him, "Hayden—!"

Ash held me back from walking with a swift block of his arm, his strength against my stomach. I stopped with a sudden look of 'What?!' at him. His eyes narrowed as it continued to pierce at Hayden. I looked between the two confusingly, and seeing that Hayden still hasn't looked up at us yet, why Ash had looked at him that way. Ash bit his bottom lip before backing me up at a distance. My heart started to pound as my blood rushed upwards on my body, the rush of anxiety kicked in as I wait for something to happen.

"So no reply, huh?" he chuckled lowly, "that's not nice of you to not say anything, isn't it?"

My eyes widened as my lips silently attempted to find something to say. I wasn't trying to be silent and I hope neither does Ash. The blood rushed to my head as I reminded myself to stay calm.

"What are you doing here." What Ash said didn't sound much of a question but a direct statement.

"I'm just investigating. Like what you told us to do?" Hayden replied back sarcastically and slowly. He lifted his face off the ground and pointed at me.

I stumble around in the sharp stare of his eyes. He is pointing at me. His face remained emotionless, "Ye-Yes... I di- did." I let my fear out. I took a deep breath into my nose.

"You know what I'm talking about. You shouldn't be here," Ash growled out.

"Oh? Really? What will you do if I don't?" Hayden snapped back.

"Seems like what happened earlier didn't seem to go to your head," Ash continued the argument as I watched from the sidelines, as from behind him.

"Why are you trying so hard to hide it? Is it because Lianne's here?" Hayden piled more questions with a sly smirk, enjoying the menacing glare from Ash.

"Hide what...?" I nervously asked Ash, my attention turned to what Hayden said about him.

The two stared back and forth at each other for a couple of seconds that felt like it would go on if nothing happens then. I looked around the shed in search of anything that would physically break up the two. The pair already looked like they are ready to murder each other on the spot.

Ash doesn't bother to look down at me but continues to ignore me. I reluctantly, and panicking, grabbed after his left arm.

"You're not going to tell her? That's disappointing," Hayden said with a look of disapproval on his face.

"I wish I could sew your mouth shut." Ash snapped back, bluntly.

"Ash—!" I shouted at him, attempting to stop him from talking to him any further.

The face of joy and pleasure lit up on Hayden's face, "Oh my! There you are."

"What the hell are you talking about?!" I snapped back at Hayden, starting to lose patience for the two.

He looked at me with wide eyes and the reaction of being repulsed. His eagle eyed stare sends a shudder through my spine.

"Ash… why don't you tell her about what you did back then?" he asked again, this time his eyes didn't leave me.

The silence continued from beside me, his poker face as he stared down at Hayden. He stood there still not in any way about to speak to him. That provoked Hayden more as his eyes angrily begged him to.

"Fine," he said as he went back to the state he was in before, "You guys look so beautiful together, you know that?"

This time he was talking to me also— to the both of us. I didn't give myself enough time to just stand there and process it before snapping at him back. Ash, on the other hand, took his words with disgust. Hayden stared just down with a psychotic smirk.

I ignored Ash's attempt in keeping me behind as I headed past him, "What are you talking about!? Why are you acting different all of the sudden?!"

"Acting- different? I hope I didn't make you think of me that way, Lianne." The sorry on his face. His reaching hand.

I flinched back from his reach, "Don't. What's is going on with you today? Why are you here?"

"What— I can't see my two favorite people in this whole wide world?" he chuckles excitedly.

I didn't want to answer that question, if it is one, in fear of pushing him any further to talk. The best that I could think of doing is leaving the shack along with Ash, leaving him behind. It didn't feel like it was the right thing to do at all. I had already felt so much panic because of the confusion about why Hayden is acting strange all of the sudden. The last time I talked to him he was talking to everyone like normal. As I looked at him now, it looked like something had turned him this way.

"You should watch what you say next time." Ash said.

His face lightened up even more, "Oh don't worry! I won't tell anybody a thing but Lianne should have the right to know, don't you think? Since the both of you are.. you know. That's Ash over here is—"

A loud slap followed after a loud slam. Ash stood over the scattered nails and bolts with his arm below his face. Hayden stood with his head facing low and dull. Ash huffed for air before reaching over for me and pulling me beside him. The scattered bolts roll under my shoes the more I walked on it.

"Let's go." he said, reaching for the metal rod next by the door.

"Don't you go anywhere..." Hayden muttered, which it's hard to make out from my distance.

Ash didn't bother to hear him out as he continued walking. His tug lightened up at me but he doesn't let go of my arm. I followed behind him knowing that this is the way to handle it.

"Don't you fucking go anywhere!" Hayden shouted at both of us. His anger pulsed throughout the walls of the shack, shaking the room with terror.

I stood still. Ash froze from opening the door. A million thoughts swirled through my head as my panic screamed inside my head. I was left with nothing to do than just to not walk out. Hayden's breathing became louder and faster. Ash slowly turned around with a scowl TK on his face and his fit balled up.

"You know... I feel disgusted when I'm around with the both of you.." Hayden said, swaying from side to side.

"What are you talking..." I stammered for the last word to say. I kept my body facing the door.

Hayden lets out a low chuckle, "How much I would kill to be loving as you are, Lianne."

"What are you talking about!?" I shouted at him. I have finally turned to face him. His psychotic smirk haunted me.

He didn't react in any way other than placing his hand on a table nearby. His faint humming can be heard from a foot or two apart.

"You guys are always together... every single second. Even if it wasn't during this stupid game we're in. I would go to look for you and you're always with Ash and it makes me sick." his words are filled with despise and disgust, and for us.

He continues, "Why does it always have to be me. Why can't it be Ace, or Chase, Finn, or even you! It's just so sickening— this thing- this thing— called love. I want you all to die. Only Lianne could be the only person to be alive on earth, not even myself," his arms crosses as he holds himself, his expression was something that I can't describe, "this isn't fair that I have this lonely feeling in my heart."

He was almost on the verge of tears. His words are filled with some kind of eeriness, maybe it's just that it's from Hayden himself. Although, what he had said was something I can't forget or ever forgive him at all, I should talk to him about it. "Hayden..."

"Just shut up, Lianne. You don't have to tell me anything— not with that piece of shit standing next by you," he said with the intention of directing it at Ash, "so much anger is running through me I just can't hold it in any longer. It's better if he was with you anyway. No matter how lonely I would still be at the end of the day."

That didn't hide the scowl on Ash's face. He looked like he wanted for him to stop talking. "Stop—"

"Do you take me for a fool?! Ash? I'm doing what's best for you. It's what is going to keep you and her together, not like you guys aren't never going to be apart anyways," an evil plotting grin on his face widened, revealing his teeth. His intimidating smile revealed someone else— someone that isn't Hayden at all.

"Why- what are you talking about...?" I stumbled for more words to say, my brain feeling dizzy from the confusion of what Hayden is trying to achieve here.

"You see, Ash shouldn't have to hide this from you. That's why I'm going to tell you and he can't stop me," he said, provoking Ash into more fit of anger, his fist clenched even more that I can see the veins in his arms, "your.. special someone over here is—"

Bang! The tools clattered off the walls and onto the floor as he lunged for Hayden. The clenched fist drove into his face into a bloody mess. Blood dripped out from Hayden's nose and onto the floor. His face remained in the still position from after Ash threw a punch at him. The both of them were the pair that I thought would never see each other like this. Now, the two of them stood in this room, enraged over one thing and over another. The blood from his nose continued dripping from his nostrils and into his mouth. Ash huffed his heavy breaths of air before lunging at Hayden again, his hands almost around his neck.

"Don't you ever touch me," Hayden snapped as he swung the knife in his hand to Ash's chest. A slash of a knife flew across him as blood started to drip onto the hardwood floor. His blood soaked in from Hayden's blood from his nose earlier. I stood there in shock at the sight in front of me. I watched as his blood bled through his gray shirt, but he stood there frozen with Hayden's arm in his hold.

We stood there, speechless and unable to move anywhere.

Hayden sways even more, eventually lifting up his head to tears streaming down his face, "Your love is magnificent! Making me feel alone is the right thing to do!"

The two of them clashed into each other as they tumbled themselves to the floor in a fight. Ash wraps his hands around the other's neck as he threw himself onto a table nearby. The knocking on the legs of the tables shook the tools off and onto the floor, crashing into other items. The chaos unraveled in front of me as I looked for anything to pull them apart safely.

"So, what happened here," remarked a familiar voice at the door. I quickly turned around in hope that there's help. It was Finn. A wave of relief cleared my mind a bit as he leaned on the door frame with his arms crossed and a small grin before looking over my shoulder.

"I don't think I can explain it with this amount of time." I quickly said.

"Go find the others. I'll deal with this," he hurried me along out of the door before shutting the door. I rushed out in the outside in the cold air as I looked behind me. After this whole night, this chaos will be something I will never forget. I should trust Finn will be able to break them apart after I look for the other two. The sky is already on its way to daytime.

I ran across the yellow grassy field, ignoring everything surround me. The early morning air blew through the shuffling fields of flowers. I ran through the silver gates and then to the large entrance door of the institution. The doors kept itself propped ajar from when we left it but it took an effort to push them open myself. The muffled pounding of my footsteps resonated in the carpeted floors as I held onto the support bars of the swirling staircase. I carefully watched my steps but didn't care if I ended up falling over a step. My mind was quick to focus on finding Candice and Ace on the second floor. I thought about what could be happening back at the shack as I flew through the first floor and swirling to the second floor.

"Candice! Ace!" I shouted as I stepped out of the staircase and into the corridor of the second floor. Along with the panting, I listened for any response from deep within the hall. Nothing followed after. they must have been far in if I can't hear anything. In a hurry, I walked through the corridor, the light from the windows of the classrooms spewed into the hallways. It made it much easier to see.

I repeatedly called for their names as I looked into each classroom, "Candice! Ace! Where are you?!"

I checked the first room, the second room, and onwards. Faint chattering of the two followed louder in front of me as I walked though the rooms in further.

"Lianne?!" shouted one of the two. It was one of the voices that I automatically knew was Candice's. Her voice was followed by the chattering of another voice I had heard. It was Ace's.

"Where are you!?" I shouted for them once again, and now for where they are. The thrill of knowing that they are doing okay was fulfilling.

"We're coming!" Candice shouted back. The faint pounding of footsteps grew louder from where I was standing.

Two figures revealed themselves from within a classroom as one of the heads peeked out from the doorframe.

"I knew she was doing okay," said Ace.

"Who said that you didn't knew," argued back Candice. I listened in on the conversation that went on between them. It had ensured me that it was them from the way they always talked to each other. It's relieving.

"Come out quick! There's something that's happening." I urged them. I almost forgot how quick I needed to be to bring them out to the shack.

The two of them walked out of the classroom and surprisingly looked like they weren't in any harm. Then, I stood in front of them before I tried to find the right words to describe the heavy situation that the others are in.

"What's happening, Lianne?" asked Candice, her eyebrows furrowing in question. Ace agrees along and also waits for a response.

I couldn't describe the situation with the amount of time I had with me. I contradicted whether I should just show them instead of just explaining it, but a lot of things already happened that it would be difficult to show them. The worry on their faces grew the more I took longer to think about what to say.

"Ash and Hayden are fighting each other to the point that they are absolutely going to kill each other and Finn is staying behind pulling them apart. So he sent me to fetch the both of you," I explained as fast as I could. Again, I couldn't describe it in words than showing them but it was the best I could muster up.

They stared wide eyes at me and then at each other, in shock. I looked at them nervously as they exchanged looks.

"What!? Well, we shouldn't stand here any longer than," Candice said as she ran past us. My explanation had surprised her enough to quickly make her way down the corridor.

"Right. I'm honestly surprised but we should get down there as quick as we can then. " he said as he followed Candice down the corridor, his hand patted my shoulder to hurry along. And with that, I ran quickly with them.

The loud trailing footsteps from the three of us echoed through the big lobby room. The empty lobby room illuminated itself with the early light of the mornings and the cool air that spewed in from the open entrance door. Candice led the way as we followed behind, focused on making it out to the back. I didn't know if the two of them knew where the shack was, but if they had to ask me, I wouldn't have any other choice than to show them the way. Ace pushed the two closing doors as I slid past him. The rough feeling of grass welcomed me by brushing against my legs.

"Hey," Candice panted as she grabbed my attention for the direction the shack is at. I soon noticed when I ran ahead that the shack had been hidden pretty well by the large walls and bushes.

I made sure they were following behind me before I ran past the empty water fountain and on the cobblestone path that led its way to different entrances. The feeling of urgency and hopefulness that we can find them safe is the only thing that swirled around their head. The other two behind me looked confused but had no other choice than to see the situation for themselves.

The color of the shack introduced itself in the sunlight to be dark brown with yellow strokes of paint covering it. The thoughts that I assumed about what the building could be like in the dark was to be mostly true. The steps were still too weak to support any of our weight when we stepped on them. The grass that surrounded the whole shack itself hid the space underneath it. We continued along the cobblestone path that strayed us further to the door. My hand grasped the empty hole where the doorknob was with the twisted feeling of knowing what went on last night ringing in my head. I felt dizzying to open the door.

"Finn!" exclaimed Candice before she climbed over the porch. Her shouting averted my attention to the inside of the shack to what was beside me. Finn laid against the wooden post that supported the roof, his eyes closed.

"Shit," muttered Ace as he rushed to Finn's side, reaching in his pockets for anything. I scrambled over to Finn and beside the two. My eyes roamed everywhere in search for what the commotion was all about.

"I'm okay, you two," muttered Finn under his breath as he attempted to sit back up. His hand clenched around his left shoulder, revealing blood that smeared over his arms. He grunted the more he lifted himself straight on the wooden post.

"What the hell happened, Finn? Hand me over your jacket," Ace asked him patiently but expecting an answer soon. He motioned me to hand over the jacket that was wrapped around my waist, which I took off by the time I reached inside the shack with Ash.

I dropped my jacket in his hands without any thought. I watched as he lifted up his shirt to reveal a big bite mark that gushed out blood the more Finn held onto it. The mark that looked very similar to the mark that was on Bailey's body. The blood dribbled down from the bite downwards over his chest. I studied the mark in hopes that I could find anything to help wound him up.

"Lift up your hand, Finn," I tried to instruct Finn to let go of his shoulder. He nodded before resting his bloodied hand on his thighs.

"Ash- Ash bit me while I was trying to separate those two, thats all." His small grunts stammered his speech as he watched Ace wrap my jacket around his shoulder.

"Wait—" interrupted Candice, her hand holding back my jacket from touching his shoulder, "— I can heal him just enough for him to be able to move. And so that I can ensure that he should be alive."

Hayden stood by and watched with the jacket wrapped around his arms as Candice held onto Finn's lips with her fingers. She pulled out a small glass bottle from her inner pockets that looked like some liquid like a potion. It gave me the thought that Candice's role was the witch. Though it's not harm knowing that fact, that's why she didn't give it any hesitation when she poured it down his mouth. Ace stared in surprise before looking away into the grassy fields. I did the same, knowing that I couldn't think about watching how healing would happen in front of me.

"Done. You should be able to move now and hopefully that bite should treat you easily now. Ace, can you wrap it around his shoulder?" Candice brushes her hands along her pants, tossing the bottle aside.

"What the hell," Ace said before asking impatiently, "What happened to Ash? Why did he bite you?"

The conversation carried on but I heard little of it. I turned back towards the shack's door that hinged open. I had forgot that I was intending to walk inside before we stumbled across Finn. I took the chance to check inside when I stood back up and walked to the door.

"Be careful when you walked in there," warned Finn. His reach pointing the others to what's inside the room.

"Could you... stand up?" I nervously asked him considering the large bite mark on his shoulder.

"I don't think I can right now," he replied with sorry.

I nodded in understandment. I walked into the door, leaving the light of the sun for the dimly ambience of the place. The jumped as I flinched back into the counter. Hayden laid face down in a pool of blood. The knife in his hand glimmered TK in the ray of the sun. His body laid still and quiet, which is already a huge indication that he's dead. My mind flash backed to the fight between him and Ash last night before realizing what went on while Finn sent me back to the institution.

"What—" Ace opened up the door before his eyes reached Hayden's dead body. He didn't react strongly as anyone else woof but I can see it in his eyes that he was also afraid.

"Hayden's dead. I should tell you what happened last night, should I?" I wanted to keep myself cool but all I could do was to stand there in fear.

"It's better if Finn explains it. Let's go back outside and discuss how should we deal with this. I quickly agreed and hurried out the door, slamming it shut behind me.

Finn reads my expression, "I'm sorry. I only could do so much because Ash was the one who killed him, and almost bit my shoulder off when I went to stop him. You can already tell who he is now."

We all chose to sit around and listen. Ace glares out into the sky as Candice tucked her legs into her arms. Finn continued to explain somethings, "The both of them went nuts. Hayden started to stab Ash while... Ash had forcefully choked him. The only thing I could do was to pull Ash off him but that all turned to shit in seconds. One moment, Ash was moving off him and the other moment, I fell to the ground as he bit me. that's when I saw the same beast that Chase was."

"Hold in, you're saying that Ash is the other werewolf?" exclaimed Ace, who is the last of the people to bash out in confusion.

Finn weakly nodded and Candice nodded along. I couldn't help but nod along with him. I carefully looked at Finn and he looked at me back, with a bitter smile.

"Then, what happened to Ash?" I knew that was a stupid question to ask. The answer is obvious. I just wanted to hear it from him.

"He's gone out the door. That's the last time I have ever saw him then. What ever happened before I face planted to the ground... killed Hayden." That statement shook me all down to my bones. I felt my eyes water and twitch as I saw and processed over and over.

I knew from what had happened with Chase and Bailey, the trial part, that the suspect has to be present in order for them to be executed. With that knowledge, we wouldn't be able to conduct a trial without him. Straying us from being able to conduct a trial and to the thought of finding him. Somehow. It is my job as a seer at least.
