The school bell rang to signify it was closing Timex so it didn't take them long before seeing Layla already out of her class and was about going outside to wait for them, but luckily they all met each other halfway through.

"Good afternoon mom" greeted Layla while hugging her mom.

"Good afternoon sweetie, how was school today?" asked Jenny.

"It was good mom, what happened to Karin?" asked Layla when she saw the bruises clearly visible on his face.

Her class was different from that of Karin, that's why she didn't have any idea about Karin getting into a fight.

"Karin got into a fight with some of his classmates" replied Jenny not bother to hide it from her daughter.

"What!!, Karin why did you do that, what happened?" asked Layla, her face was clearly fill with consigned as she look at her brother.

"You don't have to worry about it big sis, I took care of it perfectly fine" said Karin.

"Of course I know you would, there's nothing my baby brother can't handle" said Layla.

"Layla are you encouraging him to continue getting into fights?" asked Jenny to her daughter.

"No mom, but I clearly know Karin has a reason for doing what he did, he isn't the type of person to go looking for trouble unless you provoke him. so I know that it wasn't his fault" said Layla while clearly defending his brother.

"You can keep on defending him but I forgot to tell you that he has been given a week suspension from school" said Jenny.

"What!!, that's not possible, Karin is one of the most intelligent person in his class, if he is suspended from school, it might affect him greatly" said Layla.

"I know sweetie, but he doesn't have a choice than to stay at home for a week and study on his own" replied Jenny.

The journey was a quiet one, with neither the mother, daughter nor the son saying anything, the quietness was giving Karin goosebumps, but luckily, it didn't take long before they got home. Karin quickly step out of the car and quickly walk home, trying his best to not look at the calm face of his mom.

Although she was showing a rather calm face, but Karin knew that there was nothing calm about her in the inside.

On getting home, Hendrick couldn't believe the news that was given to him, he was disappointed at Karin for fighting, but he didn't show it out, he only scolded him a little bad advice him not to ever fight again in school or anywhere else, before letting him off the hook.

After Hendrick left Karin room, Layla quickly walked in so she can watch up with Karin and get the full gist of what happened at school.

"How's my baby brother doing" said Layla as she walked in.

"I'm good" was the short reply from Karin.

"Are you hurt?" asked Layla.

"No"

"Then are you hurting on the inside?" asked Layla which causes Karin to burst out in tears as he lean on her shoulder. "It's okay Karin, don't cry, dad and mom were just scare because of your well being, you know they won't be able to forgive themselves if something happened to you" said Layla.

"I fail their expectations Layla, I don't really know what to do now" said Karin in the middle of his tears.

"Karin don't let anyone look down on you, don't let them hit you without retaliating back, okay?" said Layla.

"But mom said she doesn't ever want to see me fighting again" replied Karin.

"I know you are not the type to go looking for trouble, but you can't just stand for them to hit you without doing anything, make sure you stand your ground and fight back, what's the need of you learning martial arts if you can't protect yourself, always fight back okay?" said Layla.

"I understand" replied Karin.

"Good, now wipe your tears and don't think about what happened" said Layla.

"Thanks Layla for always having my back and always being there when I need you" said Karin.

"Of course I will always have your back, that's what big sis are for" replied Layla which made both of them to laugh. "What do you say about playing some video games after we finish studying?" asked Layla.

After about an hour of studying, Layla and Karin were now playing some video game called free fire on their play station five. it was a game well popular for kids their age.

"Karin come over and help me, I'm hit, I'm just twelve meters from you" said Layla to Karin over her headset.

"I'm on my way, just wait a little so I can take care of this guys I'm currently fighting with" replied Karin.

"Come on Karin, I'm being shot at right now" said Layla.

"I'm close to you already, what!!!, why didn't you tell me that you were in the middle of a war zone?" asked Karin as be control his character to dodge some of the bullet being fired at him.

"Just help me, so we can finish them together" replied Layla.

"You really are fond of rushing into war on your own, then when you get knocked down, you will start calling me to help you" said Karin while controlling his character so it can help her.

"Make sure to block the front with shield wall, so as to prevent them from shooting us" said Layla.

"I clearly know that, if you were so good at the game, why didn't you do it so you can protect yourself from being shot?" asked Karin in a sarcastic way.

"I ran out of shield wall when I was fighting" replied Layla.

"Done, why don't you give my character a like for saving you?" suggested Karin.

"Of course I will, thank you" replied Layla as she gave his character a like in the game.

"I will buy you some time do you can heal yourself before you get shot again" said Karin while controlling his character to shoot the enemies.
