Competition 3

After the second round of the competition, the qualifiers were told time to rest for some time before they start the third round of the competition.

The twenty four contestants which were in the second round has dwindle down to just twelve candidates left. While the sixty questions in the second round has been taken down to thirty six.

The total number of school that was still present in the third round was just eight in numbers.

The scoreboard was arrange from the biggest point to the smallest point with Brilliance high, Excellence star, King's esteem and Prosperous high school being on top with twenty points each, with each of the candidates still participating.

While Queens royal, Exploit high, Future valley, Challenge academy being under them with fifteen points each with only one candidate participating because the other have been eliminated.

"Kiran, are you feeling any better now?" asked Mr Andrew as he approached him.

"I'm fine Mr Andrew, you don't have to worry about me" replied Kiran while still resting his head.

"The third round is about to start now" said Mr Andrew causing Kiran to stand up from his chair to walk to his podium.

Seeing as everyone participating was now present, the judges quickly start the third round with a boy picking a number.

On seeing the question on the screen, the boy quickly start solving as he knew the timer was counting and won't be waiting for him. Giving out his answer, he waited quietly for the judge to call the result.

"You did good master Isaac from King esteem school, it isn't easy to make it to the third round, which made it hard for me to tell you this, but your answer is wrong and you have been eliminated" said the judge as he gesture for Isaac to leave the podium.

The next person was a girl from Future valley academy, she picked her number and quickly started solving the moment the question was display on the screen.

Having finish solving, she called out her answer and waited for the examiner to call the result.

"You did good miss flora, but your answer is wrong and you have been eliminated" said the judge.

The next person to pick a number was a girl from Prosperous high which she answer correctly, putting them in first on the scoreboard.

Reaching the turn of Kiran, he picked his number and stare at the screen so he can start solving the moment the question popped up.

Seeing the question, he strained his eyes so as to read it properly. After reading, he immediately started solving the question on his material.

'Kiran this is were we need you the most, please don't fail us' said Mr Andrew inwardly as he put his hand together in a pleading manner.

Sweat could be seen covering Kiran face as he kept on solving the questions. He quickly call out his answer as he raise his head to look at the timer and could see that it was two seconds left.

"That's correct master Kiran, five points has been added to Brilliance High" said the judge as Brilliance High could now be seen with the same score as Prosperous high.

Everyone couldn't help but think that Kiran getting his answer is pure luck, because he has always battle with his question every time it was his turn. He has never once get his answer without struggle as it could be seen that he was having a hard time answering them.

Reaching the turn of Abigail, she picked her number and ready herself to solve the moment the question appear on the screen.

Having solve the question and calling out her answer, she waited with baited breathe for the judge to call the result.

"That's correct miss Abigail, five points have been added to Excellence Star" announced the examiner.

Abigail couldn't hide her excitement as she jumped up in joy. Seeing her school name among those in first on the scoreboard was making her happy.

"Miss Jane, go ahead and pick your number" said the examiner as it was now the turn of Queens Royal.

Knowing that she's the last candidate in her school was making her feel cautious about carelessly picking a number, because that would be the end of the competition for them if she was to fail.

Picking a number after long consideration, the question was then put on the screen for her to solve. Looking at the question on the screen, she couldn't take her eyes off it for close to ten seconds before facing her material to solve.

'What kind of question is this' said Jane inwardly as she quickly start solving before the time could runs out.

Seeing as the time was almost up, she quickly called an answer even though she knew it wasn't correct because she haven't finish solving.

"You did good miss Jane, but your answer is wrong and you have been eliminated" announced the judge as he kindly gestured for her to walk out of the podium.

What she feared the most has finally happened as her school has been knocked out of the competition.

The next person to pick a number was a boy from Challenge Academy. The moment the question was displayed on the screen, he quickly starts solving so as to get his answer.

Just some few steps to get his answer, he heard the timer ringing, proclaiming he was out of time.

"You did good master Clinton, but you have been eliminated" said the judge.

Turning for the second time and reaching the turn of Lydia, she picked her number and quickly started solving for her answer the moment the question appear on the screen.

"That's correct miss Lydia, five points have been added to Brilliance High" announced the judge after Lydia finish giving him her answer.

"Everything is going fine, you guys just have to answer some few questions and then we will win this" said Mr Andrew as he look at the scoreboard.
