The minute Li Meilin heard these words come out of Zhao Chen's mouth, it was as if her heart got stabbed by something so sharp out of nowhere that got her silent for a while.

Thinking about it now, Li Meilin realized that she was being somewhat unfair to her friends quite a bit.

As a result of keeping secrets from them about recent events in her life, she treated them as if they were people she couldn't trust. That's just so sick, especially considering she spent almost her entire life with them.

Being the person she spent most of her life with since the beginning, Li Meilin could clearly understand where Zhao Chen is coming from.

Seeing that things got a little bit awkward around here, Mi Wei tried to lighten the mood between them by saying to just forget about it and accept the things as they were right now, which Zhao Chen immediately opposes.

The latter was already planning to leave this place without his friends when Li Meilin finally decided to speak regarding the ongoing rumor about her and her demon master.

"You're right," Li Meilin admits without a doubt that got Zhao Chen sitting back in his chair once more. "You guys are my best friends and I think I owe you an apology and an explanation."

After that, Li Meilin goes on to explain the real deal between her and Lim Xian, that she was just a servant to him and nothing more.

She also tried to explain that everything that's been happening to her on this campus was simply because Lim Xian doesn't want her to be his personal maid and would do everything in his power to make her quit the job.

But of course, for them not to worry too much, Li Meilin excluded the part where she has been falsely kidnapped by Mr. Lim's idiot goons and force her to come to their house and was eventually hired as Lim Xian's personal maid.

"But what I do not know for sure is the way he's been acting right now," Li Meilin continued and rubbed her chin while trying to think further. "Would declaring me his girlfriend be beneficial to him to make me quit? I don't get it."

Now that Li Meilin has finally told her friends everything, she also wished them to stay quiet about her true relationship with her master. As much as possible, she doesn't other students to know that she lives 24/7 with her demon master or else, she'll be dead for sure.

Nevertheless, it also makes her feel at ease knowing that she doesn't have any secrets to keep from her friends any longer.

On the other hand, Zhao Chen furrowed his eyebrows and said, "Still, I don't get it. If he doesn't want you to be his personal maid, why don't you just quit instead of forcing yourself to bend to his will? If it's money you are after, then you could… I don't know, apply somewhere else instead, maybe?"

That question thrown at her only made Li Meilin smirked to herself. Thinking about the reason makes her stay motivated to her job until the very end.

"Thanks for your concern, Zhao Chen, but I do have my reason as to why I wanted to stay."

Mi Wei can't help arching one eyebrow at her friend. "And what is that exactly?"

Smirking, Li Meilin simply replied, "Because it's fun to watch my demon master's defeated face every single time."

Mi Wei and Zhao Chen only looked at each other blankly after hearing what their friend said just now and shrugged at the same time.

Right after her classes, Li Meilin immediately went running from her classroom to locate her demon master right this second. After all, that jerk still owes her an explanation for the crazy thing he did earlier this morning.

She was beyond mad as she kept on walking past from one student to another as her eyes continued to roam around for any signs of her demon master.

If, forinstance, that she will not be able to find her master around the campus, then she will simply just storm off towards their famous hangout place and would do any means to make him talk.

But it seems that Li Meilin doesn't have to do that any longer.

While she stood at a good distance away from her young demon master, Li Meilin caught a glimpse of him laughing with his friends and looking like they were having a good time right now.

As they walk on the campus grounds, Li Meilin noticed that they are being stared at by other female students which these boys are only ignoring.

Anyway, now that Meilin saw her target, it's time to make him pay for what he did!

Like a bull that is about to charge towards its target, Li Meilin began taking a step backward as she gathered all her courage and willpower together before she dashed her way towards her demon master's location.

Meanwhile, Yang Shunyuan stopped talking the minute he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure charging right in their direction.

Pointing his right index finger, Shunyuan asked, "Wait, is that Xian's fake girlfriend?"

"Huh?" Others reacted in unison.

But before Lim Xian could even turn his head to look, Li Meilin already flew her way towards his direction while her right leg was extended forward.

His other friends weren't also able to anticipate this girl's next move not until they saw her foot making contact towards Xian's face that sent him flying a few inches away from them.

The next thing they knew, there goes their friend lying on the ground while being stunned with what just happened at the same time.

That one incident also caught everyone else's attention that made them flock together to watch the whole scene, some even made dramatic gasps after witnessing their beloved prince charming lying face-first on the ground that earned him a few scratches to his handsome face.

"That witch!" One girl shouted while glaring at Li Meilin. "How dare she hurt our charming prince!"

"Yeah! Let's go get her!"

"Attack!"

Gulp!

Li Meilin hadn't really thought this one through and was not expecting others to get this angry at her because of this jerk. Her body and feet simply just moved on their own earlier.

She just stood there, stunned, as she watched the girls charging in her direction.
