Hah.. Will I even get to go on an adventure? Hah..

I can only sigh as I sweep the floors of the guild.

"Newbie, you don't look happy even though you're currently working with beauties of this town? If I am in your case, I would be more happy you know!"

What is this guy saying now. Yes, they're all beautiful but I got no business in that. I want some adventure!

"Why are you even sad kid? I heard that the guild's salary is also high right? Not just beauties, you also have money you know!?"

Most of my salary is for payment anyway.

"For me, just working with Alva is enough!!. Hahahaha!"

Then why don't you work in the guild then?

Really, if they like it so much, then why not just work here.

"Ehh.. so you actually speak? I actually thought that you're deaf."

"Yeah, I heard that he's deaf too."

"Me too you know! We thought that you're some deaf merchant who got bankrupted by the guild."

It seems that while I was working in this guild, I gained a title of a deaf person. A perfect combination with the debt me. Though, it's actually true that I never talk to someone, even to the other employees while I was working so I can understand why I gained that title. My seniors mostly just tell me what to do and I never question them. I mean, it's not like I have anything to say you know.

"Well, kid. It's not like we didn't want to work in the guild you know. Being surrounded by those beautiful girls...  that would be awesome!"

"It's just that all this time, we actually thought that they only accept women. I mean, look at those working in the guild right now. Aren't they all women. Even in the other town guilds, it's all women right?"

Ehh? Is that true?

"Yeah right? The only male I ever saw on the guild are in the guild leader position after all."

"Oy kid! You definitely must've been thinking of having fun with Alva and the rest you know. Don't even try kid! I would definitely kill you... Of course, after I hear what happened."

Suddenly, I felt like everybody is looking at me like they want to kill me. Scary!!

Yes of course!

Dang, why am I being threatened now? I'm not even interested in getting laid you know? Most other world novels that I've read might have them, even harems but I got no interest in that... I guess for now. I'm still a male you know?

But... Is what their saying about the work really true? But didn't they say that you have to work for them if you won't be able to pay for the loans?

Aren't this people just stupid?

"Yeah, that's true. Hahahaha! I remember seeing Erik working in those dirty ass latrines! hahaha that was so funny!"

"Yeah right, I was about to shit when I saw him cleaning, LOL I almost shit my pants back then! hahahaha!"

"Hahahaha! Well, as you can see, most of the people who can can't pay from their loans are mostly sent to other business or sent to easy money missions to get their money back."

"It's actually the first time we saw a Man getting accepted to working in the guild itself you know!"

"Maybe let's try asking after our mission? What do you say guys?"

Wow! That's new too me. I didn't thought about that at all. Well, I'm still new to this world after all so I still don't know the common sense. I'm actually sorry for that guy who has to clean the latrines. If the outside already smells like shit, I wonder how even more absurd the smell of that place is.

Ha... my skin is crawling just thinking about it.

I guess I'll retract what I've said about them being idiots. I actually think now that I would be just like them if I was on the same situation after all.

But I actually wonder, how do they even remove the smell from the inside? I mean, why I even wanted to work in this place is because bi can't stand outside after all.

"The smell? It's magic Mr. Juan. Every Adventurer guild has a magic dome which protects it from so many things and that also includes bad odor. Quite useful right?"

Wait... Did I just hear magic? As in fantasy magic?

Ms. Frida, did you say magic?

"Yes magic, why? Ohh right, are you worried about the price? Don't worry about it. Since most of the time, it only has to deal with odors it doesn't consume that much mana. It doesn't lose us that much money."

Hoh... So that's how it work... no wait, how does it even work? I want to know but I can't really raise their suspicion about me. It might just be my needless worries though. Ahhh, I want to know more about magic!

In my days working in this guild, I always try to look at anything suspicious. You know, that's eventually bound to happen right? Someone making a ruckus and somebody showing off their high class magic attack that would destroy some parts of the guild. That's the normal events right?

But till this day, there's none. Most of them are peaceful. Adventurers here just come and go, take some hours of break, talk to the receptionists, there's rarely any fights at all. At best is just some civil arguments!

It on it's own is weird you know!

"Ohhh, Mr. Juan. You're actually good at this. The floor looks really clean. And the appliances too!"

Ha! Praise me more! I've used Lin 2.0 for this you know. Though back in Earth, I only used this for testing because Lin won't let me use this in the lab for some reason so I never truly get the chance to show its uses. Now! I can use it's cleaning function without care.

Though I made sure that I'm ready for a dirty ass type medieval setting when I created Lin 2.0, I never actually thought I would use her for a job.

Thanks Ms. Frida... Wait, guild master?! Why are you working here? Aren't you the guild master?

Now did I only notice that the one cleaning the office room inside the guild with me is the guild master, Ms. Frida. Luckily, I was mostly done with the cleaning and I'm just putting everything back so she didn't saw me used Lin 2.0.

"Ahhh, well... Just say that's it's my hobby. Don't worry about it. I like cleaning in my free time. I have a lot of free time after all. Hahaha, I'm not weird right?"

"Totally!"

Of course if someone help me, I would be glad.

Knock knock

When we heard some knocking on the door. We instinctively look at it and see who is entering the room.

The one who knocked and entered the room is none other the girl who got dragged inside the office while I was applying for the job here. Her name is Thyra. On my scouter, her name is translated to helpful which I thought is really fitting because she helped me a lot when I first got here. But it seems that other employees dont like her that much because of her open mouth.

I kinda pity her.. But it's her fault anyway.

When we saw her enter, Ms. Frida click her tongue and made a facepalm.

"Guild Master, Alva is looking for you. It seems that you still have a lot of job to finish so she wants you to come back on your office."

Ehh? Wasn't she on her free time?

After that, Ms. Frida left the room while dragging Thyra.

Looks like they are still suspicious of me. Well, I understand. It's my fault anyways, working here was just such a good opportunity and I was desperate already so they also have to understand me if I'm that suspicious. But, I guess I can't say that.

Suddenly, I hear the sound of the door opening again.

"Are you here Mr. Juan?"

When I look at her, our eyes met. It's Ms. Alva, the receptionist that talked to me first when I got here.

Uhhhm... what is it Ms. Alva?

"Mr. Juan, your guild ID is ready, pls come with me."

It seems that the Guild Card is finally here finally! I still haven't payed for it though... Anyway, I thought that it would be just like in the novels that I've read that after I have registered, I would be given my card right away. But it seems that there is a process to it, like registering my name in the guild files and such and like the creation in it itself.

When I got to the other room, I saw Ms. Alva and Ms. Frida the guild leader waiting for me. This room that we are in is called the briefing room. Usually, we just use this for meetings but they said this was actually normally used for the more secretive things like some high level missions or like this card giving.

It's inside was an oblong table with a big space in the middle and some decorations here and there. They both are already sitting at both sides and is looking at me.

"Mr. Juan, congratulations on being part of the Adventurers guild!"

Holy Mud! Finally!

I run up to Ms. Frida and immediately look at the guild card presented to me. It was like an gold ATM card with my name on it and the insignia of the Adventurers guild. But after that, there's none more written there..

Is that it? No stats number? No skills and titles written? Just name and...

"Why do you look so sad, Mr. Juan? Aren't you excited that you finally received your guild card?"

Mmmm yeah. 

"Oh, I almost forgot, you have to drop it some of your blood for recognition Mr. Juan."

That!!! That is what I'm waiting for. I thought this card would just be a normal card for a second. 

"Oh here, Mr. Juan."

Ms. Alva gave a knife that looks like a ceremonial knife of some sorts. It was a knife that has too many designs on its handle. It's handle also is golden making it really looks ceremonial at its best.

When I got the knife from Ms. Alva's hand, I was suddenly struck by a problem...

"Uhhhm.. It may be rude for me to ask this but, can you do it for me Ms. Alva?"

Dangit, I'm shameless but looking at it again. I'm kinda scared of bleeding myself.

"Ehhh? Ahhh.. Well then I know most beginner would be scared of this but I never thought someone would really ask a girl to do this thing you know. But if it's for you Mr. Juan, gladly!"

"Ahahahaha! Treat this as special Mr. Juan okay! You're the first one to ask any of us in this guild you know! I never thought I would see something like this in my entire life. That's so unexpected. Hahahaha!"

Well, sry for that okay!? It's normal to be scared when in this situation right? Even Ms. Alva said it happens. And it's not like I have no experience of this, it's just that, it's me that it's different. Even I have to bleed animals you know! It's part of the experience I have to have coming to the other world after all!

I just faced down because of my shame for asking.

"Come here Mr. Juan, Give me your hand."

Okay...

But honestly, even though I was scared. I am also excited by this. After all, my dreams are finally coming true!

She took my hand and place the back of my hand in her palm. Her hand is definitely soft just like Lin's.

"Pls don't be nervous Mr. Juan. I might cut you in the wrong place and that would be a big problem you know!"

Ahh yes.

After the dropping of the blood, the guild card shone that isnt really that blinding. When the light is gone, numbers that isn't there back then are now there like they are part of the card in the first place.

Wow!

When I look at the two girls that is inside the room with me, I saw them looking away from some reason.

Uhhhm.. Why are you looking away?

"It's part of the initiation. We can't look at your card as part of our privacy policy."

Ohh so that's how it works...

Maybe I have to look at it later.

Aw. My hand still hurts from the cut.

Ms. Alva brought out a handkerchief.

"Pls use this handkerchief to stop the bleeding, it's also a gift to you from the guild 

"Mr. Juan, Now that you're officially part of the guild, we officially welcome you Mr. Juan! Congratulations!"

"Congratulations Mr. Juan!"

And they all clapped.

It's not fake okay! It's definitely happening. They really clapped!

"Right, Right, after this. You have to come with the other newbie for your first mission. It's part of your initiation and like a training."
