DEAL

"What?" I blurted out.

"Nothing," he replied, his gaze away from me.

Okay, I seriously didn't catch that. But, oh well whatever. If he doesn't like to say it, then I won't force him.

We both then continued eating.

After the meal, I offered to wash the dishes, which he happily accepted, saying that he's got something to do about his bar. So I cleared the table and started washing the dishes. I was in the middle of washing when he came back – holding in his arms some ledgers and papers and placed it on his dining table.

I resisted the urge to ask him about what he's doing, because I am very curious and simultaneously afraid that he might snap at me. So, gritting my teeth, I continued washing.

As I finished, I slowly turned around and faced him. What met me was such beautiful scenery.

He was looking down on the papers, his brows scrunched up in concentration. He was wearing reading glasses which added to the sexiness of it all. If he looked down on me with his obsidian eyes behind that glasses – Oh god I might faint.

I didn't notice my feet took me near him until I bumped the chair he was sitting on.

"Ooof, sorry," I said immediately.

He glared at me sending chills down my spine. God, his eyes are so scary. I diverted my sight towards his back, and that's when I found some blueprints and bills on the table.

I frowned and slowly approached the angry lion.

"Hey," I said which came out rather soft.

He raised his brows. Does this guy know how to talk? His words are all so clipped.

I swallowed my fear and dragged a chair to sit beside him. "Are you renovating your bar?"

His eyes grew in surprise. I smirked inwardly. Don't you think I'm such a genius?

"No," he said flatly, dashing my bragging soul. I pouted and was about to answer when he added, "I plan to move the bar."

"What? But that place has been there for so long! Where are you moving it? Will it be far away? Why?"

He glared at me and said rather angrily, "For a total stranger, you are quite curious of my business."

I raised my brow at him, "Well, technically, you are not a stranger to me. I know your name, Ren. And I'm Nina by the way, Nina Brooks."

"Brooks, the CEO of Brooks' Designs Enterprises?"

I deflated; he knew me that easily? "Yeah," I replied in a low voice.

He just looked at me and went back looking at his papers. "It sure is easy for you rich people, huh?"

I looked at him confusingly, "What's easy?"

"No wonder you had no qualms in paying me, and even gave me too much. You are one, damn rich woman."

I sensed anger in his voice. I wanted to rebut but his anger swept my courage away. So I just nodded.

"So, is this the new area?" I pointed at the blueprint to change the topic.

He looked at it, frowned, and replied, "This is the blueprint of the building I bought. My problem is how to move things to make it a bar. This is a former storage area."

I looked at the print and noticed that it didn't have any room, just one big space.

"Well, this would cost a lot."

He sighed, the first time I saw his defenses a little lowered. "It does. I calculated the materials to be used, the labor and the time it takes to be finished. I don't know if I can afford it."

"How did you manage to build that bar?"

"I didn't build it from scratch. My Master gave it to me before he passed away. So, I just made a little change. But now – " his voice trailed off.

Master? What is he? A martial artist of some kind? Whatever, I don't care. "So, why move?"

"I knew from the start that the land was bought by a rich man when Master started getting sick. He sold it to help him in his medical expenses. And now, the buyer wants to use the land for other means, hence, our eviction."

I smiled mischievously, "Wow you talk much now. I thought you don't know many words."

He glared at me and said seething, "Get out of my house now!"

I raised my arms in surrender, "Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I can't help it, I feel so comfortable with you."

"Whatever. Stupid, rich kids."

"Hey! Don't call me stupid. I clearly am not! And I just wanted to help you."

"Help? What sort of help are you offering? Money? No, I don't want alms."

"What? No no. I meant the design. As you know, I'm a fashion designer, but I know how to design a room too."

"But, I probably won't be able to pay you for your services."

I giggled, "Don't worry about it. I just wanted my ban lifted. I really like your bar."

"Just that? Huh, of course, why does she need more money." I heard him mumble.

"Hey! What is it with you and rich people?"

He looked down, "Are you really willing to do that for me?"

"Yes! I don't have anything to do today. And, I'll let you loan money to buy for materials," he was about to argue when I added, "with interest."

He smiled, god so beautiful. Can I have this man for me, God, please?

"Okay, deal."

And we both shook hands.
