CHAPTER 14

Lucas' eyes betrayed him as the tears hidden in them dripped down with full energy. Seeing his sister again, his joy knew no bounds as he pulled her into his embrace. The trio watched the duo as they cried out in each other's arms and felt pity for them.

"I pity for them. They look too innocent to be harmed." Jose said.

"As the gods thought it wise to save them, I hope they punish all those that caused them harm" Leah added, watching the duo.

"My Prince, it's about time they return to the palace and vent judgment on those who sought their heads" Jose requested, gazing intently at Prince Zay.

"The seer herself would do that. I must head to the palace now. Remember, Kim and his brother must not escape since you've caught him"

"Yes, my Prince"

"I will take my leave now, Your Highness" Prince Zay interrupted.

"Go well. Thanks for all you did. The gods of your fathers would reward you" Lucas blessed.

"Gem, take good care of the King. I will see you all the day you return to the palace"

"Thank you, my Prince." She greeted as he left with Jose following behind.

"You are welcome to my abode, great seer" Leah dropped with a smile and Gem nodded beaming with joy.

"We will return to the palace next moon. I want you to come with us, Leah. You've helped royalty and you deserve a royal reward." Lucas requested.

Leah nodded, dashing into her but Gem stared at her brother with teary eyes. She could only imagine the things he had gone through since childhood.

"Jose told me everything. How I became a royalty all of a sudden."

"He looks like an ordinary person but blessed with the eyes of the gods. Lucas, you have been the gods' choice. No wonder, Father saw you differently but just couldn't say it knowing that you would be in danger. Instead, he placed you in my care."

"And you've been doing a good job ever since." He smiled sadly.

"Once my feet step into Zamunda, I will avenge Kaye, Father and, Ramsey's death."

"They are your family."

"Lucas, you must avenge them. I don't care if they are my family. They murdered Kaye, Father, and Ramsey, and they almost got to us."

Lucas sighed heavily. Gem was hurt deeply and he could see through her pain.

The palace seemed extremely busy as they awaited the arrival of their King and the seer. Prince Zay and Jose had revealed the mischief of the late seer's household to the entire village and they've been captured. Markus hung his head low with Kim immediately people gathered at the center of the village where the prince ordained the meeting.

"People of Zamunda, I welcome you all here today. We are here to witness the downfall of the enemies of our King and to also welcome him".

"Long live our new King!" Jose rang out immediately Lucas, Gem, and Leah arrived.

"Long live the King of Zamunda." The villagers chorused.

Tears filled Lucas' eyes as his gaze fell on all the people gathered. Gem couldn't fathom the rage brewing inside her as she saw her mother and brothers sitting on the bare floor with their heads bowed in shame. She walked up to the center of the crowd with Lucas following behind. The people of Zamunda bowed down before the duo.

"I, the great seer of Zamunda greet the inhabitants of Zamunda this day. I thank the gods for bringing us into the light of today and also witness the punishment of all those who orchestrated evil and polluted our land. I hereby command each one of them to confess to their crime and face the wrath of the gods afterward." Gem spoke out, staring intently at her mother who reluctantly stood up to face the crowd with teary eyes.

"I confess to my crimes this day. All that the gods revealed, were true." She said, tearing up.

Markus and Kim followed afterward.

"This is the decree of the gods. To all those that polluted the land of Zamunda, they shall be banished and never to be seen again in this land."

"Gem, I am your mother. You should consider your brothers at the least. Why vent so much anger and hate?"

" You committed a great crime. You must be punished." She declared in anger.

The villagers sang songs in appreciation to their gods as they were bound and taken out of Zamunda.

"I present to you all the King of Zamunda. The gods chose him a long time ago and now is the time come for his reign." She held Lucas' hand and lifted it for all the people to see."

The villagers sang and danced as their new King was appointed.
