Nothing but a Human

Elizabeth's point of view:

My mother was a Lycan, my father is a Vampire. Being mated to each other was a surprise none for just my father and mother, but for everyone around: friends, family, and even strangers.

A few years after being madly in love with each other, my mother got pregnant. Most people believe vampires can't spread by birth, but Lycans can. It's true that my father was a vampire, but again my mom was a Lycan. It was like nature tricking itself while breaking its own rules. Funny isn't it?!, and my mom got pregnant. It was a sort of miracle, at least that's what she used to believe.

I wasn't the first child she had, but I was her first child with the one she loved the most, her real mate.

Different sorts of creatures including my mother and father were curious about the origin of the child, 'of me'. They were wondering if I'll be a 'Vampire' like my father or a 'Lycan' like my mother, or the first of a kind 'Hybrid'.

Most of them even made some kinda funny predictions about me.

Well, some of them were excited more even than my parents, they assumed that the hybrid would bring peace upon them, and the war between the two species would be finally over.

Others claimed that the child would be a monster and cause the end of the world.

The truth is that I was nothing like they all predicted; I was just a human, a failure, and a weak creature.

My name is Elizabeth Wilson, I'm nineteen, almost twenty years old. I'm a human and I live among humans with my foster parents.

My father is not a simple Vampire, he's the king. You may think he has royal blood, but that's simply not true. He was not just lucky to confront king 'Xavier the Second' and stay alive, but he successfully killed him and stole legally the king's title from him. He officially became the king 'Alexander the first'.

On the other hand, my mother was a mighty Lycan soldier. She spent most of her life fighting to protect the royal family from all kinds of danger. Not until she gave up on everything to be with my father, the man she truly loved.

As I was told, she used to believe that my birth would bring love and harmonization between her and my father. Little she knew about what was coming, I was nothing more than a mistake of nature, the mistake that caused her end.

My mother was the first of her kind to die while giving birth to a child. Not to mention that my father lost the love of his life because of me, a disappointing human being, a child that would never be special like any of them.

You might be wondering why couldn't he just turn me into a vampire?!

First, because I caused my mother's death. Second, because he wanted a true blood vampire, not a human girl. Third, for some mysterious reasons, I can't change to any other form other than my human form.

One day after my birth, my father left not caring about what would happen to me, my mom was already dead, and I was left alone.

Well, I'm not totally alone. See, when I told you I wasn't my first mother-child, I meant it. My mom used to have a love affair with one of her soldier's comrades before she found out about her mate, my father. She left them both and picked my father's side.

So yeah, I have a half-brother, his name is Logan, and for sure he's older than me. I don't exactly know how old he is, but I know that he lived for about five centuries. He's by my side whenever I need him, but not always. He can't keep by my side since he has his duty toward the Palace and the royals, and he can't take me there with him since no humans are allowed to live there.

As a result, I grew up among humans. My brother could've found a fine family to adopt me during my first life years. My foster parents never mind my presence among them, nor question a thing about my background. The only thing they would care about was the amount of money they get by the end of the month.

The thing is that I've never really minded being a human, though I always believed that I was more. I was always kinda happy about the fact of not being myself. Although, I still can feel hurt most of the time knowing that my own father does not want any sort of relationship with me, his own blood, and flesh. But I can't blame him, I mean I wouldn't want me if I was him.

Still, I want to see him at least once in my lifetime. Logan told me once that I have my mother's facials and hair night dark color, and I can confirm it from the pictures I have of her. He also told me that I have my father's eyes shape and black color, and my skin was pale as his. Part of me was proud and happy to know that I look like both of them.

You may not believe me, but besides my brother, I most of the time feel like I'm being watched by someone whose aura is kinda powerful. Inside, I tend to believe that this aura I can feel will never belong to anyone but a king, The vampire king.

Though It seems a bit messy, I used to love how my life used to be. I used to be a carefree, unpredictable kind of girl. Besides my sad birth story, everything was fine, until I met him, my mate. My life was turned upside down.

First: Because I never expected to have a mate.

Second: Because he was a few months away from being the Alpha King, king of all Lycans and Werewolves together, and I was nothing but a human.
