We the dead punish the living.

James Mercer was your average loner in school and even an outcast in his home once his mother divorced his father. His sisters and their boyfriends tormented him to the point of killing him. They buried his body in the woods, hoping his death would go unnoticed as he did in life. But what happens when a spirit doesn't rest and births something the dead have never seen before?

The first.

As the days went by, I kept an eye on my home, watching them bring people in and "cleanse" the house. After a few days, they stopped thinking everything was okay. But during that time, I had already cleaned out the trailer park of prey. I feel like it's the day I can finally make one pay their pound of flesh.

I wait and dwell on the days and years that led up to this, the days I remembered our family being happy. Then, the cold days filled with pain and suffering. Now, it's time for those who pushed me to death to embrace its cold touch.

I leave the porch and walk across the street while the sun is going down and being replaced by that beautiful moon. Maybe after this, I will see the moon with the woman. I didn't get her name. Well, it's not like she could have told me if I wanted to know. Maybe I should bring some paper and pins. I open the door and walk into the house. I hear the shower, and I look inside it. It's my mother's boyfriend. I hope he slips in the shower and dies so I don't have to waste my time on him.

I slowly go to Jasmine's room, open the living world door, and look inside. She is lying on the bed with her air pods in as I smirk and walk inside her room, slamming the door behind me and making her jump as she looks at her door. I use my power to make the lights flicker, then go out as I stand in the corner where the door is. The light from the moon doesn't get this far over.

I step out like a shadow person, making her freeze in terror as I walk closer, making her unable to speak. She could only whimper as I stood above her, making her piss on her bed as I looked down at her like a black mass with glowing pale blue eyes.

I hover over her and reach down, placing my hands around her neck, slowly squeezing as I wait for the fear to build up and her and let her go. As I released her and let the oppressive force her, she bolted down the hall and screamed as our mother and sister came out to see what had happened. At this time, I was not a shadow person anymore. I grab her ponytail and throw her into the kitchen, making her slide to the dining room. She grunts on the ground before she stops in the living room, gasping for air.

She struggles to get up, and when she does, I spartan kick her into the TV stand, breaking it on impact. I still have half my energy left. As she stands up, I make the knife holder in the kitchen start to shake as they fly toward her, stabbing her in the stomach, shoulder, and thigh. I made sure to miss the crucial parts as she fell to the ground and screamed before she started to beg.

"JAMES, I AM SORRY!"

I kick her across the floor into a bookshelf, making her break the bottom part, bringing the whole thing down onto her. As her moans and grunts could be heard under the bookshelf, I waited for her to crawl out as the bookshelf pushed the knives deeper into her body. I reach for her neck and pick her up as I snap it, making a loud cracking sound as her body goes limp, and I drop her. My body only has about 10% of energy, and I still need to wait for her spirit.

I wait, and I watch her body as it looks like a thick mucous membrane starts to form on her body, and something begins to kick out her soul from her body. It's freaky as I didn't see mine, and I felt strange watching my sister's body kick her soul out. Her soul breaks that membrane and falls to the ground. She is passed out while my other sister and mother scream as they call the police. But stop because they can't tell them that their daughter and sister were killed by their dead son and brother.

My mother starts to pace back and forth before calling her boyfriend.

"I need your help. Jasmine is dead, and we need to make her body disappear. As if we don't, James' death will come to light, and you and your brothers can't go down over a murder."

I watch as the two of them move her body as I walk over to her soul, looking down on one of the shit stains that made my life hell, and knowing that I sent her here fills me with a sense of pride and joy. She slowly begins to move as I want to be the first and last thing she sees.

Her eyes opened, and I grabbed her by the mouth and began to suck her dry as I looked her in the eye. As the last part of her disappeared for the land of the dead. The world shakes at the sound of a horse neighing, and its hooves hit bones, crushing them beneath its hooves. My chest began to puls as I could feel it far off deep in a part of the land of the dead, waiting for me to find it.

The shaking slowly stopped, and as far off as I could hear, the hag of the pond laughed. Her sinister laughs echo all the way here. She knows what that was and what I am. I will drag her out of the pond to get the answers I need. But right now, I need rest; I sit on the sofa and sigh. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.

I closed my eyes for a moment as I could see towns and cities burning. I felt nothing at all as I saw people burning in a lake of fire and monsters that just looked at me and bowed as they walked by me. I saw this being, I can't describe, look at me from a distance and smile, waking me up in a cold sweat.

"These dreams are going to be the death of me. Or would it be destruction now?"

I rub my face, getting my head in the game, as I stand up and leave the house, heading to the lake again. I need answers, and I am not taking no for an answer. I stop when I see the woman picking flowers. She turns to me and smiles as she nods to me, and at that moment, something tells me to stay there with her, and it won't be bad.

I shake my head, stopping those thoughts. I tell her I want to watch the moon with her tonight and learn her name. She smiles and places her finger on my hand, writing out that she will tell me tonight.

Before she sways off, I turn to the forest and walk inside it.
