Hanahaki Disease is a (fictional) disease that causes flowers to grow in a victims lungs when they suffer from unrequited love. It can only be cured through surgery, or if the love is returned by the beloved. When the disease worsen, the flowers will continue to grow in the victim's lungs, eventually suffocating them. However, if the victim does undergo surgery, the flowers will be removed alongside the feelings they harbor.
