Oath is Fulfilled

In a split-second decision, Aeryon removed his sword, relinquishing the advantage he had gained. 

Gasps of surprise rippled through the onlookers; their confusion evident as they questioned the wisdom of such a move. 

Why would Aeryon give Durka a chance to counterattack?

But what followed was a revelation that left everyone in awe. 

Aeryon, despite his apparent vulnerability was not taken advantage of 

And Durka remained motionless.

  His eyes, though open, is fixed on Aeryon with the same fierceness that had driven him throughout the duel.

And everyone understood in that moment what happen to Durka

He lost his consciousness. And he might be dying right now. Aeryon made that split second decision to quickly alleviate the weight because he fears that he would kill Durka. 

Even now, he is unsure whether Durka whether he is unconscious or is he dying?
