A Dangerous Talent

Some evil people do things for inexplicable reason.

And there are some noble people that would also do things that is inexplicable for the person who views the world as dark and evil.

Mayeux is not naive that the world is full of virtuous people.

But he acknowledged that all the common people in the world wanted peace and prosperity, a world full of virtuous people, a good and wise monarch.

Those who wanted chaos are the minority. For farmers craftsman, merchants, what they yearn is peaceful and prosperous world.

Even warriors who fight wars wanted peace. The one shouting for war is rulers and their ministers

Jayeux fails to see this and while the method he concocted is a good way of controlling people, it is not a good way for the world.

A world that Jayeux would create would be a world controlled by fear and in fear people do stupid things.

And this kind of stupid things would affect the progress of certain civilization.
