Carmen's smile became brighter. "For me! I didn't want to leave without him so he came despite not particularly wanting to. He didn't want me to go and figured going with me was the better option."

Alex blinked at her in surprise. That went along with Claire's theory but why was she so happy about it? And why hadn't she wanted to leave without Finn either? 

That sort of logic didn't make sense for someone that had never left headquarters without specifically being told to and didn't know anything about friendship. The Numbers may have grown up together and trained together but they definitely weren't friends. He had been completely indifferent about them until Claire taught him otherwise. 

"Why didn't you want to leave without him?" he found himself asking.
