The turn of tables

My whole body froze; I didn't dare to move an inch. [Out of all the people, why did it have to be you, Adrian?] As soon as I saw him transform, I dashed off, not knowing where I would end up in this dark, cold town, which was never my home to begin with. I stumbled across a bridge and stood right in between them, watching the flow of the river. I felt rather lost; I didn't know what to do, and it stressed me out. [The bug and the cat protected the city all this time; if I took their miraculous, the city and its people would be in danger.] Not only that, but if they haven't caught the real villain yet, then I don't stand a chance.

Out of frustration, I began biting my nails. The deeper I thought, the more my head hurt. I tried thinking hard, but it seemed like that ability doesn't exist anymore. I suddenly remembered my mother, even though I never got the chance to meet her. [I still hear her songs that she used to sing to me when I was in her womb; they were as gentle as the voice I hear now.] The voice got louder each second, and I turned to look for this mysterious voice. and carelessly spoke, "Mom? Is that you?" The figure walked closer, and it became clearer. I ran towards it, hugged it real tight, and cried like a child [she really was as beautiful as the rumours spoke], and just like that, everything went black.

A voice whispered in the near distance; it got closer and closer but still felt rather far. "Where am I?" I asked as if someone were around to hear my concerns. The place felt familiar, but for some reason it still felt unknown. A bright light shone right into my eyes, revealing, "NIO?!?!?" *Nio is Lily's younger stepsister, and these two can communicate through a portal known as Dream Ward (a separate universe that can only be used by creatures that hold divine power).* "I told you, you can't summon me any time you like," I said in frustration, but her cute, innocent laugh calmed me down after all; she's just a kid. "I'm sorry, but I really missed you, sisiy," she almost teared up. I gently patted her head and reassured her, "Now I have to go; don't overwork yourself, okay?" And just like that, I woke up. I didn't have much time left; I signed; Nio doesn't have much time left; and I also teared up for a second. And that's when I decided that "this will all come to an end soon." I said it out loud without realizing it. "end what?" Just when I heard that voice, I was embarrassed. "Adrian? Why are you in my room? "I paused for a moment and looked around. [HOW DID I GET TO MY ROOM???] I whispered to myself, "Did they upgrade the dream ward? Or did Nio have something to do with this, that darn kid who always overworks herself?"

"Dream what now? And who's Nio?" He asked as his head was tilted to the side. "Umm, ha, I guess I read a lot of fantasy novels." [Oof Lily, you almost revealed things too fast, looking at him up close.] "His personality doesn't match that cat guy at all." I said that out loud, "Ha ha, another book that am reading." He looked rather terrified of me, as I dragged him out of my room. "Your stories feel quite offensive," he stated. "what no… It's getting late; you should sleep good night," and bam, I shut the door close and thought of my life crises again

I flopped onto my bed and hoped for a better day tomorrow.
